Ooh, how fun! As for your question… I love it when my cats come into my room at night and curl up on my stomach. When I’m having a bad day, my kitties always cheer me up just by showing me a little love. :)

  • Pixie Dust says:

I love cats, because they are really mysterious. You never know what is going on behind those big beautiful eyes :))

  • robyn says:

i love when my cats jumps when there spooked! tehe!

  • Kate V says:

Unfortunately, I am very very allergic to cats. They make my eyes water, chin itch, throat close and nose run.

    BUT

I love to look at cats. LOLcats always make me laugh, and cat commercials are among the only commercials I enjoy. If I go to a house that has a cat, I make sure I take my allergy pills and bring my inhaler and cuddle like there is no tomorrow. Animals are a great way to brighten up anyones gloomy day. I wish I could have a pet, but unfortunately I will always just be a cat fan from afar.

  • tokidoki says:

I love a cat’s innate telepathy that soothes the energy of those around them. They always know when you are happy, sad, or sick and nothing beats stress or sickness better then cat cuddles. I love how they portray many human mannerisms (playfulness, mysterious, independence) and most importantly they clearly provide a sense of love. And lastly nothing beats falling asleep to purrrrrrrs.

Cats have always been a part of my life and always will be.

Also cool, in Egyptian astrology I fall under the sign of Bastet. :)

  • Sarah says:

I adore cats because no matter how old and wise they may be, they manage to get into the silliest of predicaments and still have the innocence of a little baby kitten!

Their big, expressive eyes make them able to woo you (or me, at least!) with the littlest effort imaginable!

  • Kendall says:

I love cats because they have the ability to always make me feel better, even on my worst days. Dogs are too wild and hyper, whereas cats are perfectly content to curl up in my lap and keep me company without demanding attention. Recently, I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress in my life and when I couldn’t turn to my family, I turned to my cat for comfort. She is the greatest. : )

  • Roisin says:

What is your absolute favorite things about cats?

My favourite thing about cats is their ability to make you fall head over heels in love with them and do whatever you want.

My cat goes in and out side and he actually has my father and I at his beck and call. He’ll stand at the door and meow once or twice and we go for the door to let him out.. Not two minutes later, he’s back wanting in, and we let him in. And this goes on for hours. It’s pretty pathetic, but I love BB to death.

The old adage is true: “Dogs have owners, but cats have staff!”

  • Bee says:

I love the fact that my kittens can look totally serious while having totally hilarious names, like Davey and Adrian.
I love that Adrian will sneak out of the house, but never go past the end of my street.
I love that Davey likes to chase toes, and when he catches them will sit and have a little nibble.
I love that both my Kitties will chase balls and fetch like dogs.
And most of all, I love that my cats enjoy sitting with my laptop searching for new shoes as much as I do!

  • Sara says:

What I love about cats is they don’t bark. Meow, they make the cutest sounds. Plus they are amused by the littlest things, like bugs. Cats are so fun to watch.
    :)

  • Melia says:

my favorite thing about cats is their ability to be completely independent. my kitten has cerebellar hypoplasia (aka, cerebral palsy) and you could never tell from the way he runs around our house! he doesn’t ask for help when jumping down from the bed or up on the couch. i really admire him for that.

  • Mandi says:

I love cats because they always know how you’re feeling. If I’m sick, my cat Lola always comes and sleeps with me. If I’m sad, she’ll do stupid and cute things to make me laugh. Shes even been known to drop her favorite toy in my lap just to try to cheer me up. :)

  • Rachael says:

My favorite things about cats is that they are fairly communicative/obvious about their needs and underneath that cool exterior they are total cuddle bugs!

  • Sara Sue says:

My favorite thing about kitties is that they like to snuggle when you don’t expect it. The other night I woke up to purring and I noticed that my kitty was nuzzling me! It was so sweet, especially since she normally doesn’t pay much attention to me :D

  • Vir says:

My favourite thing about cats? Hm, probably the fact that despite their size, they can defend themselves pretty good. My cat, Cathy (hell yes, creativity when picking names haha), for example, kicks BIG dogs out of my house, im so proud of her :P
Shes an old lady now, and only eats if im next to her (i dont know why), which is kind of annoying if youre doing something important but i dont mind, shes like a daughter :)

  • Suzanne C. says:

I was practically raised by a cat so it’s so hard to pick just one thing. Probably how wise they (usually) are. You can look into their eyes and feel like they know everything about the world and really if you learn to communicate with one they can use their eyes and expressions to communicate with you. And the sound of their purr and i’ve met some cats who I swear had the most bizzarre sense of humor.

  • Charlie Bucket says:

I adore cats and have had them since I was five years old! They aren’t nearly as outwardly friendly (or smelly) as dogs, but once they warm up to you they are incredibly loving. My cats are also so very quirky, too!

For instance, my one cat Dorian Gray has the word “CAT” written into his fur on his sides!! I promise it’s true, and the man who sold him to us called it “marbling”. I just call it GLEE! He also walks around the house and I can know when he wants to find out where I am and cuddle me because he meows “Muuuuuuoooom? Muuuuuuuuum?”. Even my brothers agree that he might speak a little English :)

  • Kitten says:

The thing I love most about my cat is that he loves
me unconditionally and doesn’t judge me. If I need a cuddle he’s there, if I’m lonely and I’ll he knows and stays with me, looking after me. There’s nothing better than knowing that to your cat your the most
amazing person in the world to him.

  • Britt says:

I love cats because they can be that quiet presence in your house, making you feel like you are not alone. And cats can also be a very visible and loud presence in your house, helping you read the news paper or surf the internet. I also love cats because cuddling up with a purring cat is just one of life’s biggest and greatest pleasures.

  • Sarah says:

I love the way cats find their owners — they know what they want and they go out and get it. I have my cat Captain because one day I heard meowing at my front door. I opened it, and he walked in and laid down in the middle of my apartment. He never left.

  • Katherine says:

i love cats because they seem to be a good judge of character. They only show true affection to those they really trust. Also they are just so soft and fluffy (:

  • Ana says:

I love cats because they are beautiful and so elegant. The way they carry themselves is so beautiful. I also love how they purr and rub their head against your leg when you’re of their liking. Plus they have beautiful, intense eyes :]

    Sincerely,
    A Feline lover.

  • kit says:

I love how proud and independent cats are, yet they still love to cuddle sometimes. And the lovely sensual quality.

Fun true story. In college I snuck a cat into my room (we weren’t allowed pets in the dorms) His name is Tigre (tiger in French) and he lived with me for half the school year before anyone in authority noticed. He was a scrappy skinny kitten when I rescued him from the tree in the snow and the was a nice sleek shiny orange tabby when I found him a new home :) quite proud of myself really.

  • Meefy Muffin says:

Ms. Deere, my own little anecdote is similar to yours! One day in my dorm room, I commented to my mean (ex) roommate that I loved my two cats, Morris and Peaches, and she gave a huff. “Cats don’t care about anyone. My dog loves me. She sleeps on my bed and everything.” Even though what she said was mean, it ate at me a little bit. But when I finally came home for the first time since going away to college, Morris and Peaches stared at me for a little bit, and then kept purring, brushing against my legs and following me around for days. That’s when I knew they remembered me! Cats are full of real love – something you can’t always find in other human beings.

  • Bunny says:

My favorite thing about cats is that they are good judges of people. They are magnets for the people who really want to take care of them, and they avoid the people who don’t know how to. They can tell who is going to pick them up and squeeze them and they can tell who gives the best neck rubs long before they get one. <3

  • Denise says:

My favorite thing about cats is that they have such amazing personalities! Unlike dogs, they do their own thing. Follow their own rules and love you when they want to be loved and will leave you just the same!

    They have CAT-ITUDE!

  • Kelly says:

I love cats because they have sandpapery tongues and are little fuzzy balls of cuteness.

I have two favorite cats (though I can’t own one because my sister is allergic): one that squeaks when you hug him and another one that likes to watch Nascar and try to catch the cars with her paw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQe9lrMzB3c.

On a more serious and practical note, cats pee where they are supposed to, this earns them major points from me.

  • AmerLynn says:

My favorite things about cats, I have owned several and I love how there personalities are so distinctive, they tell you when they want something and it’s much easier to tell with cats than it is dogs (I’ve owned several dogs as well). I love their adorable quirks, they pay attention to their coats they clean themselves to an extent much beyond most other animals, if you’ve had to give a dog a bath you’d know what I mean.
The cat list of cute quirks:
1.squealing snore (inner nasal birth defect)
2.kitten voice in an adult cat (didn’t vocalize as a kitten therefor when she finally did vocalize as an adult she forever has a kitten voice)
3.inability to balance (poor kitty another birth defect he just falls over sometimes sadly sleeping on the back of the couch is a favorite of his and we frequently hear a thud meaning he rolled of the back of the couch again)
4.thinking you can walk in a bubble bath
5.hating but loving the other kitty companions in the house
6.only drinking out of a running faucet
7.joining you in the shower or settling for getting it right after you
    8.sleeping in the sink
    9.sleeping upside down
10.deciding the couch is a good launch pad ..only to move to a different house and to find the launch pad directs you straight to the wall
…and there are oh soo many more

    AmerLynn Reply:

I also love how cats knead things… especially your leg …if they’ve been declawed that is.. otherwise it’s sorta painful. So.. I was watching one of the late shows the other day and there was a lady on showing about giving your pets massages.. apparently a cats kneading can be a cue to them wanting a massage..interesting. I guess I wouldn’t have thought of that but I do that..give massages when I want them. I’ve always given my pets massages.. they just seem to enjoy it.

  • What DON’T I love best about cats? I love how cats come off as totally chill and independent, but they absolutely adore attention and being loved. I have three cats right now (I’ve had two before, all five have been rescued strays) and they’re brothers. One of them, I call him White Kitty, is my baby. He’s the “runt” of the trio, but he has his moments where he’s dominant (if you know what I mean . . .!) but every night when I’m home from college, he comes wandering into my room, howling like no tomorrow! And he leaps onto my bed, and rolls around until I pay attention to him . . .and then he drools!!! It’s the most adorable thing to ever experience, it’s such a bonding experience, cat drool and all >^..^<

    Becca Rainbow Reply:

Also, I love that my cats enjoy exploring the bathtub. They’re attracted to our kitchen sink as well, they love watching a water drip, and the LOVE the droplets of water that collect on the wall. KAWAII

  • Courtney says:

I LOVE it when my cats come up to me when im just sitting there and lay down in my lap. I also like it when the come sleep with me. Oh and I think its funny when my dog try to play with them and they smake him. haha He still hasnt learned.

  • Abbey says:

I love kitties because they seem to understand emotions. When you need a snuggle, they’re there, but when you need some alone time, they knwo when to leave you alone. They’re very independant and loyal that way.

  • paige says:

I never though i was a cat person til i found my baby kitty :) she is such a technology lover. the CD tray on my computer is her favorite thing in the world to watch. she’ll come running for anywhere in the house if she hears the click and whirr of the servos ejecting. soooo cute!

  • Ilyana says:

this is really exciting, because cats are actually MY FAVORITE. apart from being downright adorable, i love that each cat has it’s very distinct, own personality. kind of like people. i feel they also do really funny, entertaining things practically all the time, so generally, they make very happy. on the flip side, they are good cuddlers! i love sitting down with cats and just petting them and chilling out.

  • Jenna says:

Last spring, My secret about self-harm and suicidal feelings came out into the open.As I prepared for a required trip to the hospital, which would result in being committed to a mental hospital for five days, I was sitting in my kitchen, bitter about yelling “I’m sorry if I feel so unloved!” at my mom. Seeing how sad I was, my cat walked up to me and rubbed against my leg. I realized then how much I had neglected him during the months I spent horribly depressed. All I could think about was, “I’m so dumb. You where here all the time- someone who loves me unconditionally.” I was sooooo happy to see him when I got back. Cats show you so much love, expectantly when they can tell when you’re upset. That’s why I love them!

  • Ashley says:

Cats are magical I love the way they think they are so pompous, but they are still snuggly and warm. They do have amazing eyes though. My cat LOVES the sink, and at first we just turned the water on, thinking he would run away, but instead, and he loves it and drinks and licks it :P Silly silly cats.

  • Irina says:

I love how cats are almost always a bit bitchy or patronising. Myself, I’m a pretty sassy and sarcastic person. Cats are the perfect roommates — always up for a snotty glare or a condescending wave of their tail, but cute and warm and fuzzy and with daggers for claws. And kitties. Come on, everyone loves kitties!

  • Maire says:

I have two cats, and my apartment would not be a home without them. I love their varying personalities, its like they’re two little people. They’re spazz-tastic, you never know what ridiculously silly thing they’re gonna do next. Cats are natures comedians! As a writer, I spend most of my day at the computer, and my little cat always climbs on my desk and sleeps almost on top of my keyboard, everyday, without fail.

But the best part about my cats? They always know when I need someone, they’re both there, snuggling away. They never fail to help me feel better. At night… there they are. Always sleeping with us. I love dogs, and rats, but cats will always have a special place in my heart.

  • Jackie says:

I love how they will kneed you and then lay in a ball on you and pur. Its just so adorable.

  • Andrea says:

I love cats for many reasons: they’re always clean and smell lovely. I love their graceful agility, their ’6th’ sense and ability to always know when you need them, if only for a minute to rub against you, look in your eyes and let you know it’ll all be ok.
But mostly, I love their varied ‘language’: purrs, chirps, meows, musical yawns, hisses and spits!

  • Julia L says:

I don’t actually like cats that much; I’ve been allergic my whole life, and I find cats kinda scary. But I’ve always been fascinated by the “always landing on their paws” thing.

Yesterday I was up late watching Animal Planet, and this show about dangerous emergency situations was on. There was a cat who had climed up a tree that was really high. The cat sat up there for days, but eventually it walked out on some weaker branches which broke, and the cat fell. The fall was repeated several times, in both regular and slow motion, and it was so cool to se how it just turned in the air!

It said something about cats having little hairs in their ears which tells them if they’re upside down. Talk about smart design there!

  • Seth says:

My favorite thing about cats is their independence. There’s nothing like love coming from an animal you know might not need you; she just wants you. :) She WANTS your company, just like you want hers.

  • Connie says:

At first I would always choose a dog over a cat but whatta-ya-know, I got myself a kitten first. Now I think it’s equal to a dog AND more. People give cats so little credit and except less compared to dogs.

Cats, like you said, are independent and you have to earn their love they don’t go to the ones who gives it food. My brother treated my cat kinda bad and for that my cat had a lot of respect for him and still accompanies him. Later, my brother gave in and loves the cat.

I used to play tag with my cat, okay! We would talk to each other (not that weird) and even greet each other. Every morning it would scratch at my bedroom door, that’s my cue to let it in so it can go on my bed, lay on my chest, put it’s head on my neck and purrs while we both go back to sleep =)

  • Kristina says:

What I love most about cats is the way they walk. They never make mistakes, it’s always graceful.

  • Vixel says:

I love cats because they’re such great company. When you’re close to a cat they’re so in tune with your emotions that they seem to sense sadness and become a comforting presence, they react to happiness, and of course, they’re fabulously entertaining (especially when there’s catnip and a laminate floor involved!)

I miss living with a cat, sadly most rental properties around here have strict no pets clauses in the contracts.

  • Emily says:

Stories. I love cats because they create the most amazing little stories from day to day which cat owners love to tell to anyone who will listen about how cute their bundles of fluff are. They have their own special personalities which makes you love them unconditionally.

We put our Christmas tree up for the holidays and within minutes our ginger rescue kitten, Fidget, was clambering up it and playing with the baubles and tinsle. He quickly got bored and played with his squeaky mouse. A few days of momentary Christmas joy later I returned from work to see a very sad looking Christmas tree with the bottom branches all droopy looking and the baubles and hello kitty decorations scattered and in pieces all over the living room floor. And there he was, a very happy kitten sat in the middle purring and hoping to be fed.

We redecorated the tree 4 times over one week before we gave up and took it down.

Christmas without a Christmas tree? Meh.

The memories of my little adventurer Fidget and his little naughty gleeful face looking up at me in the midst of Christmas carnage? Priceless. xxx

  • Valentina says:

I love them because they’re like humans. If you treat them wrong, they won’t forgive you.

And they poop where you tell them to.

    Ruth Reply:

probably a cats best quality, pooping where you tell them to, a sign of true love.

  • Priscillia says:

My favourite thing about cats, or about MY cat should I say, is how she comes sleep on my back when I sleep on my stomach. <3

  • Nomi says:

I love cats because they always think of themselves as kings and queens. Even when they’ve just been humiliated by trying to jump to high and failing, they shake it off and pretend that they ment to do that all along. They demand that you treat them right, and withhold love if you don’t. And they always always expect the best of everything. I’ve always said I want to be a cat, all they have to do is look pretty and take baths regularly…

  • Ruth says:

Same reason as you really, you have to work to get a cats love and affection and after that they will ignore all others and love only you, and who ever elsefeeds them. As for a dog, no matter how much you love it and for how long, it will always show that same love to a complete stranger.

  • Sam says:

I love the way that cats always seem to be plotting, at least mine does. There is a certain mysterious intelligence about cats that makes them awesome to have around. My cat, Mr. Kitty, is always getting the best of my naive chihuahua.
