Day 3: What’s magic without unicorns?! Today is your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to LimeCrimeMakeup.com!
To enter, tell us: which animal do you identify with, real or fantastical, and why?
Do I even need to answer that question?! ;) I identify with unicorns because they are self-reliant, highly individualistic animals. Colorful, whimsical, exuding GLEE and optimism! They get along well with people and other animals but, in the end, are loners – it’s uni-corn, meaning ‘one’. I often feel like a misfit who charges forth nonetheless.

You have 24 hours to submit your answers – comments only please! Winner will be picked randomly and contacted by email.

I identify with cats, mainly Siamese because they are little sweethearts, but know who they are and who they like. Plus, they are so mysterious!
A cat! Sleek and independent yet cute and cuddly! Plus cats have often been used throughout history as a personification of femininity and the supernatural
I think I can identify with a more realistic animal, such as a daschund. They are wildly independent and bold, but have a very soft side to them that I think is very much me.
I think I relate to cats the best, they are often loners, preferring to go about their own way, doing their own thing.
They seem to have a desire to be elegant, sophisticated. They are such complex creatures, yet so easily made happy- once you figure out what it is they want!
<3 <3 <3 BrassBird
mmh… I’d say penguins :D
they’re fluffy, goofy, sweet and giving!
i identify myself as cat mainly cause they are so indipendant as i am. they are friendly, intelligent and they dont cling onto one person they get along with nearly everyone :) x
Owls <3 I adore owls more than any animal. They seem like such shy animals to me, which makes them loners. Plus owls are wise. :)
Cats, for sure. They only do what they want, but can be rather friendly. They are rather intelligent and enjoy looking sleek.
I identify with the phoenix. In legend, the phoenix basically lived forever in 1,500 year life cycles. At the end of each cycle, the bird would die in a burst of flames and be reborn from the ashes.
I identify with the metaphor of this animal: redemption and rebirth; essentially adopting the idea that yes, I will make mistakes, but I can pick myself up from the ashes of my mess, and move on with new knowledge and wisdom about how to better live my life.
Dogs. My corgi is ADHD (like myself, only he’s not medicated) and has quite the sense of humor. I envy the fact that he gets to sleep all day while I’m in medical school, though!
Raccoons! Resourceful, creative little bastards with the weirdest solutions to every problem. :)
Owls. Wise, elegant and beautiful but also solitary. Beautiful feathers and cute big black eyes. And actually, having a head that could revolve around 360 degrees could be useful if I were an owl. Then again, I’m a writer and I don’t think that wings will be very compatible with my keyboard.
Oh, and owls can fly. How cool is that?
as far as a real animal i would say i identify most with a fox :) im sly, cunning, quick witted, and still cute while doing all of that :)
for fantastical… i would say a cupcake princess. i feel i am definitley the queen of a land of pink fluffy delicious beauty. :)

and unicorns and cupcake princesses are best friends….duhhhh. ;p
I say dragon. i can be a total bitch sometimes and am very attractd and tend to collect shiny things also im kinda of a loner and ofer perfer my own company.
cats! i’m always curious, and it gets me in trouble. but never enough to make me stop getting into things i shouldn’t, so i guess i have 9 lives too ;) haha.
i identify with otters, i don’t know why but i always feel empathetic when i see one.
prooobably a bat. in part because someone, somewhere, titled my living space ‘the batcave’, and in part because–well, bats. tiny, dark, blind, prone to hanging upside down, lives in caves, shrieks terribly, occasionally have absurdly long tongues and sharp pointy teeth…
no, i’m pretty sure i shoulda been born a bat. *wry* i like ‘em. they flap around blindly and go into panics when people touch their space. there’s all these weird myths surrounding them, but they’re just…bloodsucking mammals who fly. uh. >_>
…ALTERNATIVELY A MERMAID. i wanna live in a mermaid kingdom. with mermaids. underwater. so we can poke humans and speculate on why those silly two-legged monkeys upstairs are so weird and NEVER COME ON LAND EVER. >=D
Porcupines. All of a sudden I LOVE THEM! they just seem so amazing! they have spines to keep things away, but it doesnt hurt themselves. I JUST LOVE PORCUPINES!
i’d say I relate most to dolphins, because they’re smart, cute, playful creatures with their own kind of grace and beauty. Plus I love to swim! (I’m a Pisces).
Cats. I run hot and cold like they do ;)
I am the dragon – an old soul, wise and highly misunderstood. I often lurk in the darkness until I see my time to spread my wings and fly. I am a mother, protective to the last, unexpectedly nurturing and kind. You think I am hoarding my gold, but I will give willingly to those who do not seek treasure.
A gryphon !
It’s not so cute, it’s no pink, but it’s a powerful fantastical animal !
An eagle, and a lion, two animals that i love, the eagle, one emblem of the USA, the eagle is free, is the sky king, and the lion, the world’s king ! :D
And i love the disney movie the lion king ! haha
I have the eyes and the behaviour of a cat, but in the inside I feel like a songbird – I’m longing for inner peace and freedom yet do I need to sing every time to survive.
I think I am a cow, cows are majestic animals that are not usually thought of to be intelligent or really anything other than a food source. I think they are beautiful (and delicious). they are laid back, take very good care of their offspring, loyal and affectionate. They have deep, soulful, loving eyes, my boyfriend tell me I have “cow eyes”. They are unique, no two cows look the same.
I’m not sure what animal I identify with since ‘identify’ seems to I think imply we have something in common. My favourite animals are cats and Elephants. I already talked about liking cats but in a word: Snowball. Elephants are the most beautiful and majestic creatures, they seem so kind, they remind me or people but better, more simple and pure; they tend to lack unneccesary agression. You don’t find an evil elephant. They also seem to posess some sort of mysterious wisdom and so much grace. There is also something profound about their approach toward death.
I identify with goldfish the most because they always make me smile when I see one swimming in a fish tank. Any goldfish I have owned has seemed to be very friendly (as friendly as an animal that I can’t touch can be) and much smarter than people often give credit.
before I even knew about you or limecrime,I fell in love with unicorns,so I’d also have to pick them also. if any of my friends see or hear a mention of uniorns they automatically think of me,I got one tattood on my foot may of ’09,I drew a giant one on my wall, there’s even a picture of me with a unicorn head I can show you haha awkward. love them because they’re mysterious but vibrant.
I identify with cats because they’re individualistic, quiet, elegant, independent, quirky, and mercurial. I think they’re full of personality, able to be both tender and sharp.
I identify with giraffes.
They are so unique and and tall.
I find them completely special mostly because they remind me of myself.
Giraffes are notorious for being incredibly tall and have long necks.
I myself am tall.
They have extremely long tongues and as do I, and take pride in it as well.
Each giraffe’s pattern is completely unique and different from any other giraffe.
And finally giraffes are good at making anyone laugh with just silly faces, much like myself!
See:

*note: hair doesn’t look like that anymore, but see our resemblance?!
They are docile creatures, much like myself and never result to violence.
A faun! (Or in my case, a fauness :D) A half-goat half-human guardian of the forest, they are often depicted playing music and pursuing beautiful nymphs…sounds like me alright! *grins*
I am strongly relate to dolphins. I’m strongly connected to the sea and I think they are intelligent, charming and mysterious animals. They also give me the feeling of freedom :)
A Pegasus. It is a winged horse from Greek mythology. It comes from the Greek word Pegasos which means strong. I identify with it because I consider myself an emotionally strong person. Considering the obstacles I have had to overcome, I feel like I have had to also spread my wings and fly, so to speak :) Also, the pegasus sprang from the head of Medusa when Perseus cut off her head, which symbolizes the chaotic family I was born into! LOL :)
Well, My nickname says it all, it’s gotta be cats! Try are largely independant, but still secretly crave affection and love, they are strong and agile and each has their own highly individual personality. I dress in cat ears whenever possible hehe, they don’t call me Kitten for nothing!
I identify with butterflies. ;D I love them, and I feel like when i began liking butterflies I sort of transformed into who I really am. Like a butterfly, I’m also kind of clumsy but in a sort of graceful way, the way butterflies fly. And I’m also very quiet, I prefer actions or visual art as expression, instead of talking.
Deer, I think. I’ve always felt a sort of comfort around them. They’re so beautiful and majestic, and there’s always a strong relationship with nature that’s associated with them. I used to be much more nimble and graceful as a child, but have since gotten rather clumsy. I like to think the inner me is more deerlike. ;)
i’ve always identified with birds. hawks soar through the sky, relying on their wings and the wind to get places. they perch, watching the world around them. that sounds all cool and serious, but i’ve also got the silly chatteriness of a cardinal who just wants more sunflower seeds and knows you’re hiding them. birds are funny and flighty, just like me.

but a more interesting and mystical analogy for myself is the dragon, especially according to the chinese astrology. they’re quirky, creative, individualistic and stubborn!
I identify most closely with the marmot.
Most marmots are highly social, and use loud whistles to communicate with one another, especially when alarmed.
They are also small and very cute. :D
For me, it’s a tie. I identify with fairies and unicorns. I’ve collected unicorns since I was young. I also have a love for anything with fairies. Sometimes, I prefer to do pastel shimmery makeup to bring out my inner fairy.
I identify with Lions a) because I’m a Leo, b) for their royal stance that I like to emulate and c) ecause of their afinity to sleep.
We also have kind of the same hair n_n.
I can definitely relate most to a Luna Moth. I like to be bright, but I change my style a lot (Luna Moths shed their skins 4 or 5 times before they’re grown!) I’m a night person, for sure. Nothing’s better than the blue-black covering of everything to make you wonder at the beauty of it all. Eating takes a backseat when I’m working on a long and involved project, and I often wonder why my belly hurts after a while (adult Luna Moths have no mouths!) And last but not least, like the Luna Moth, I only like to mate at night ;)

you should win lolwut. this is the best analogy haha
I want to say mmmh .. Minnie Mouse hihi ! Because I love her ! She’s like me, so ‘female’ haha, and she love pink too :) she’s in love with mikkey and i’m in love with .. hum a boy who don’t care about me but i’m in love that’s the most important :P I love her bows and her dresses =)
I would have to say I might identify best with humans :)
Humans are animals and the most creative and expressive ones. Humans have to power to both create and destroy. And we have language, being a linguistics major this aspect is important to me. However, taking this question more literally I would say that I best identify with the Fox. The fox is cunning, brave, intelligent, and not to mention beautiful.
If I could own a fox as a pet I would call it Mr. Todd after the Beatrix Potter Character.
<3 Cait
p.s Todd actually is an old anglo-saxon term for fox :)
I would say a Hyena, because I’m usually always laughing and am sometimes a little bit pyhsotic.
I think I’m a zebra, because zebras are individualistic yet long for companionship like I do!
A bird. I can most identify with a small bird like a sparrow. I’m always afraid of bigger birds (people who intimidate me). I don’t like new places or new things but I know when those things are necessary (such as when a bird flies south for the winter or leaves the nest.) I love being free & able to come & go as it pleases me & if I could I’d love to be able to fly. I eat like a bird too. Yeah about two times my body weight a day. Okay that’s an exageration but I do eat a lot & I stay active for the most part so like a bird even though I eat alot I don’t gain a lot. Birds are lovely fluid creatures & I hope that I can immulate them but I know I can at least identify with them :)
I identify with Greyhounds. They’re very shy with elegant lines but also tend to be very abused if they aren’t retired Greyhounds. I owned one and she was absolutely a doll.
a phoenix, im constantly re-eventing myself
A cat. Mean, lonerish, fuzzy. Awesome!
I would say that I’m a pig; a huge mess. I love going outside the box, and I love being around people, i hate structure and routine I love to go crazy and people’s opinions of me do not phase me one bit.
I identify with a type of spider that I made up: it weaves its web in and out of the hair of dying humans, where it lays its eggs that look like pearls. The relatives of the dying try to snatch the pearl-eggs, and when they do so the little spiderlings come out, and insert a very special venom into their veins. In the first stage, the venom causes the victim to believe themselves to be imaginary. This wears off in a couple of hours. In the second stage, all of the memories of the ailing are copied and transferred into the minds of the would-be thieves, and thus are preserved.
I identify with this spider because I am (in my opinion)a conventionally ugly girl who makes beautiful things. I am obsessed with memory and history, and it is from second hand memories and my own thoughts that I make my art. I may seem scary at first, but I am really harmless and constructive. I weave stories the way that spiders weave webs. I use my story-webs to try to catch people (like flies) and make them think or feel something meaningful or beautiful.

That is a beautiful description.
