Our winner is Sonia, comments 350, who identifies with a fox.
Day 3: What’s magic without unicorns?! Today is your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to LimeCrimeMakeup.com!
To enter, tell us: which animal do you identify with, real or fantastical, and why?
Do I even need to answer that question?! ;) I identify with unicorns because they are self-reliant, highly individualistic animals. Colorful, whimsical, exuding GLEE and optimism! They get along well with people and other animals but, in the end, are loners – it’s uni-corn, meaning ‘one’. I often feel like a misfit who charges forth nonetheless.

You have 24 hours to submit your answers – comments only please! Winner will be picked randomly and contacted by email.

I identify with Koalas, not because I am sleepy and “drunk” but… I really have no idea, they just appeal to me alot :)

Cute, but vicious :)
My favorite animals has always been seals. Harp seals are so precious with big black watery eyes, just precious.
They always seem to be playing when they swim.
For fantastical creatures I’d pick a selkie, which is basically the same thing but they can become human sometimes.
I would say I identify best with a Peacock! I tend to be very showy, bright, and colorful in my style of dress, and even my personality. I am always the lively one when hanging out with my friends, and with the way I present myself, I often command a lot of attention. I’m definitely a colorful, GLEEful Peacock. :]
I’d have to say a wallaby. They’re small, adorable, have huge boisterous personalities. People can forget their name, but never how fun they are.
This might be quite lame… But I’d be a “my little pony” magical horse. Happy, funny and creative. I’d have yellow and pink mane and tail – and a turquoise body covered in glitter! Purple hooves and pink diamonds for eyes! I’m getting glee-ful typing about it!!
Monkeys, of course! Monkeys are crazy, bubbly and totally eccentric. They adapt to new situations well and they are team players. They are also very maternal creatures which I can really identify with, I don’t have any kids yet but I LOVE them, just like monkeys!
I identify most with cats also. I have a slight cat obsession (my favourite ever film is the Aristocats and collect Hello Kitty items shamelessly. I also look very fetching in ears.) and believe that I would make the most badass crazy cat lady should I live alone when I’m older. [:
Narwhals. They’re unicorns of the sea! :D
I would have to say cats. They do what THEY want, not what anyone else tells them to. Also, you have to earn my trust and affection. I cannot be bought with treats or shiny things! And I’ll admit I do love to get in the way a bit when people are trying to work ;)
A beautiful , colorful and whimsical humming bird. They are small , they fly free slow enough to be admired but gone in a wink so that you are lucky to come across one . They seem as if they are in their own little dream world :)
I identify with (and wish I could be) a Unicorn! I have loved Unicorns for many years now and I collect unicorn stuffed animals and everything unicorn that I can get my hands on. That’s one reason why I love your blog and makeup line so much. I feel like I could be a Unicorn and I would never feel sad or negative. I would be a unicorn with wings and fly into the rainbow sky!
I would have to say DOLPHINS!
(and not just because they are my favorite animals)
Dolphins live in this vast beautiful expanse of ocean, free to go wherever their hearts wish (or their stomach calls out to lol). I love the beach and being near water, and have always wanted to sail across the world. Plus dolphins are just about the friendliest and most social creatures evah, but can be tough when they have to be. They’ve been known to attack sharks!
Without a doubt, a mermaid. I love the sea and everything that has to do with it, and I also embrace my sexuality. Mermaids were said to sing songs and distract people from what they were doing, sometimes for their demise. They are also vain creatures that are often depicted with a hair comb or a mirror and their beauty is surreal. I can relate with mermaids because they are very beautiful, alluring creatures that one must also heed caution around. And I’m the very same way!
i identify with zebras because they are beautiful, unique, and graceful!
I am often described as bear-like. By my cuddly appearance an my habit of being very grumpy when woken up.
The Peacock, but a rare, gorgeous candyfuturistic female version!
They are incredibly colorful and flashy, and attract the attention of everyone around them, but, at heart, they can be intelligent and inward-looking creatures as well.
I’d say I most identify with a cat.
I like my space and don’t mind being alone. You have to earn my love, and you can’t always read my emotions easily, but once you have my love I’m loyal and always there when you need me. I also love hugs :)
I identify most with lemurs, because they look like monkeys but are actually very different animals!
Wolf. A strong connection with fairytales (although I hate that they are usually represented as the villainous character), individual & solitary yet runs with a pack, and I love the elegance and mystery associated with them.
That or a bear. I don’t know why; I love bears!
My friend says I am like a chipmunk because I’m small, bubbly and chipper hehehe
According to my other friends, my nickname is Pixie though because apparently I am fairy-like XD
Oh, definitely otters. So clever and playful and cheeky! Plus I’ve always loved the ocean.
It’d have to be a wolf for me.
I’m fiercely loyal to those i trust (you could say those who are in my pack) but able to go it alone if needs be.
The phoenix, hands down. I have been through a lot in my life that has severely broken me in some way. But I’ve had to fight hard to get back up and come back even stronger than before. I also think that the Phoenix has a loyalty to the earth which I share. I try hard to be kind and gentle to every creature. I also have a stroke of confidence and wit that stings like fire if you get too close too soon, but once I’ve gotten to know you, I’m loyal for life.
I also believe that my soul has been on this earth many different times in different forms.
I will be that shining light when all else has gone dark…
I have been told that I’m like a mountain lion. I love the outdoors, exercise, and am a bit on the quiet, solitary side.
I love dolphins. They are beautiful, kind, and graceful. I am a huuuge klutz but once I get in the water, its a whole different story. They are so friendly, and playful, and just amazing. They are always happy, known for saving lives, and just generally are amazing. Plus, I always wanted to be a mermaid, and mermaids ride dolphins. I once read a little mermaid book where ariel befriended a dolphin and I was sooo jealous.
It’s definitely a lioness for me. Even my boyfriend calls me lioness sometimes …
They are powerful, proud, independent creatures – and they are so much like house cats at the same time :) They can’t purr (I asked at the zoo the other day) but apart from that they are just as moody, fluffy, up-to-no-good as a pussycat. They eat, sleep and have fun with their lion. That’s all. I can totally identify with that ;)
Unicorns, I love them, they’re unique and free, they’re bright and elegant, everybody dreams to see one! kisses!
I think I identify most with sloths, because I’m so lazy :) hahaha
I identify with the Celestial Dragon, which is my birth year! They are proud, lucky, generous, powerful, and the only mythical creature to make it into the Chinese Zodiac. (:
I identify with the Black Ram. They’ve been given a bad name over time, linked to demons and witchcraft, but they’re just like any other ram…only different on the outside, probably better looking than any white one. I also butt heads with anyone that I think is acting on the ridiculous side. ;)
I identify most with baleen whales, like blue whales or humpback whales. They’re serene and graceful, big enough to mostly be left alone by predators, but despite their size they’re gentle and eat one of the smallest animals in the sea, krill. They sing to each other, and they just seem so wise and peaceful to me. Sometimes I wish I was a whale so I could live in the ocean.
Bunnies!!! I adooore them! they’re soft, and extremely cute! :) I can’t resist looking at their gorgeous, tiny and always-moving nose!
and if I could have one I’ll name him Pancakes! (yes, I know it’s from the OC, but I think it’s the best name ever for a sweet bunny), his companion might be called Syrup!

Oh! and I can move my nose too ^^
I identify the most with cats. They are playful yet independent. They have always been associated with femininity and the supernatural. I, like cats, am very playful. I have no problem having a good time but at the same time there are moments when solitude is necessary. Also I am in love with the supernatural and female power.
I’ve always loved wolves. I’m a cat person, but something about timber wolves are so majestic and calming to my heart. Their eyes pierce right through the soul, don’t they?
Actually, one of my favorite songs ever is called “一匹狼論”, “Lone Wolf Theory,” which talks about someone who doesn’t necessarily need to be loved; they enjoy their solitude as much as they do their company.
I identify mostly with a Cheetah. When i was younger, i would go into the library of my primary school and choose books about wild cats so i could read the parts about Cheetahs. I would repeatedly dream about having a Cheetah as a best friend so i could take to school and be protected from those who picked on me. I am 24 years old now and believe the Cheetah in my dreams has accompanied me since i was a little girl. It’s there to protect me, show me how to survive even in times when others try to poach me, show me importance of rarity, be prideful and adapt in new environments & situations.
I think dragons are pretty much amazing :D I wish they had actually existed, like the dinosaurs XD
ooooh!!!! i have always felt some distant companionship, fondness and fascination with FLAMINGOS.
we’re both tall creatures who sleep a lot, and tend to stay to ourselves (i believe that they like me do it because they feel awkward about everything) and yet we both attract a lot of attention with our looks. of course i’m not pink, but with my style i might as well be!
I’m gonna mirror what some people above me said – I identify with cats. They’re loving, but they’re not dependent on anyone. They all really seem to have personalities too – I have Olive, who’s like a hyperactive four year old, Max, who’s more like a grumpy old man XD
As for a mythic creature, I love mermaids. Don’t really know too much about them, but I think living under water would be awesome. Except the sharks :o
I’d have to say maybe a cat. Not very interesting, but they are agile, soft creatures. They like to look good (look at the amount of grooming they do!), and are independant unless, of course, they want something. I think that I am quite an indepent person, I prefer working alone rather than in groups. However, if I do want something I will ask! I like to look good at all times, and am kind, caring and sympathetic. So yeah, that’s why I think I would most relate to a cat.
I really identify with leopard geckos (I have 3 as pets, formerly 4). They’re happy to just spend their time alone, asleep on their heating pads all day (I wish I had the time to do that every now and then). They’re very independent creatures, but they seem to value relationships as well, be it with other geckos or with people. When one of my little ones passed away last year, we found her “room mate” with her arms around her body, which showed me that they really loved each other, and it made me happy that she didn’t die alone.
a deer… we both have big brown eyes, love to stare into bright lights, like to pose with a long elegant neck…. super shy but can have a spunky side as well
This response seems a bit overdone, but I identify with Cats. I considered a peacock and a hummingbird, but I can’t identify with something I hardly know anything about.
Cats are my comfort animals. I stalk Caturday like a fiend. When I’ve had a bad day I go look for a kitty to snuggle with. I could go on and one about why cats are so awesome, but I don’t seem to be the only aspiring cat lady here, so I shall spare you all the rant. :)
I relate to cats. Why? I believe cats are quite misunderstood creatures. Most people identify cats are distant, finicky, can come off snobbish. But in reality, after their guard goes down, they are one of the sweetest creatures ever who will do anything they can to make their companion happy, and are dedicated to keep your friendship until their departure. I find this very similar to me, a lot of people think of me as stuck up or “too good to talk to you” because I have a fear of being hurt by others, but if you get to know me, I have quite a big heart. Maybe this is why I find my little angels better companions than most humans…
i identify with the peacock. in native american lore, the peacock is the bringer and bearer of laughter. in my own life, i have learned to honor Peacock’s wisdom and attitude for life, and whereas i used to pride myself on my anger, i now embrace laughter whenever possible.
tonks
I think I identify most with panthers. Most people I know are terrified of them, but I think they have a sort of dangerous and gothic beauty. Every once in a while I have these dreams where I’m taking a nap in the woods with my head resting on a panther’s stomach. I’ve never looked it up on one of those “interpret your dreams” sites or asked a psychologist about it, but it gives me warm fuzzy feelings anyway. :)
I also really love mermaids, but I don’t think I identify with them in any way.
the Butterfly.
it’s a sign of metamorphosis, wich means… to evolve.
i change myself a lot. both psychological and by appearance.
i’m colorful, yet i fly around from place to place, all the time. not knowing what i am, who and why i am…
i think that’s me. and the butterfly.
I identify most with mice. They’re small, timid, and mostly misunderstood. People are quick to use them for their own purposes (animal testing!), but they have feelings too! I absolutely love these poor little creatures…and I wish other people did too.
I identify the most with cats of all kinds. House cats, of course, but big cats and I actually get along nicely. I love visiting them in zoos, and it’s been my dream from when I was a little girl to visit big cats in the wild. Namely, snow leopards in the Himalayas, but also lions in Africa.
I identify with dogs (even though I’m totally more of a cat person). They’re sweet and loyal, beautiful and love being around people, and are fiercely protective of those they love. Also, I love a good pat on the head. :)
Definitely a kittie. They are so beautiful and majestic. They are adventurous and can see into your soul.<3
