i really love the fashions of the 50s and 60s. The ladies looked so neat and sophisticted. And who could resist go go boots in the 60s ?
I LOVE the Victorian Era. They always had beautiful dressand shoes. They also had bright colors on and put crazy stuff in there hair and wigs. O just love it so much that had to be a fun era. But I would also LOVE to see what we will wear in the future I hope its fun!
Ahh God its really hard so im going to have to go with this era because!!! its been everything , we have had 80′s fashion going on 60′s and 50′s is still going on at college, 90′s was indulged its just been crazy for fashion this decade!
Mine has to be the 1940s-1950s. I just love the style from back then.I can’t really explain why I love it, I just do. I love everything from then, the music, the dance, the way people acted, the clothes. Just all the cute patterns and sillouetes, the style really. Amazing, definetly a time I would have liked to have lived in, obviously apart from the war. However it is something I think that made it that bit more fascinating.
So yeah, mine would have to be the 1940s-50s. I liked writting about this :) No one can really understand by fascination with it.
Oh fun, games! I love those!
I have a hard time choosing between the regency period and edwardian. Edwardian looks so delicate and gives such amazing silhouettes. It’s delicate, special and intruiging but not over-the-top like victorian. Regency on the other hand is so calm and beautiful. It reminds me of gorgeous maidens :D. The gowns are so prettyn and I love bonnets!
My favorite fashion era is – without a doubt- the 1980s. Neon! Glitter! Glamour, everywhere! The bright color combinations and fearless hairstyles are enough to make you dizzy with glee!
Some days I pull on my favorite aqua tights and scissored sweatshirt, and lament being born in the 90s.
oOoOo! I have to say my absolute favorite era is the 50′s New Look. Christian Dior may have reworked the Crinoline era look, but the lines are so clean and feminine — the perfect outfit. I love the full skirts because when you spin, it moves so beautifully! I would’ve loved to be a model for him.
Also, it’s so different compared to the New Line which also came out during the fifties. It would probably be closer to your favorite, Doe. Space Age inspired, which is pretty much what Jackie Kennedy is the poster girl for.
Pretty much what it comes down to is I want to be an ultra girly girl in my hourglass silhouette :)
I can’t decide on just one era of fashion but maybe 2, in the 20th century at least. I love 40′s glamour from hollywood to regular young people going out swing dancing. The dresses were so cute and I LOVE classic bold red lips and the hair. Saddle shoes and especially mary Jane heels. God I wanna go swing dancing! haha
I also LOVE the 60′s Hippie style long flowy dresses I love the smal floral prints on thin flowy fabrics and sandals. I wanted to be a hippie like Jenny in Forest Gump since I was small and 1st saw her like that and I’m still in love with it.

oops! saddle shoes are the 50′s i don’t know why i remember seeing people swing dancing in them on T.V. I guess swing was just THAT fun? They really aren’t as cute as mary janes anyway so i’m sticking to 40′s Its when Rita Hayworth got famous! I LOVE her style and she wore the cutest swimsuits! I want a 40′s swimsuit!
I love the 80′s. I love the colors and bad clothes and how over the top even business-wear was. I wish we could be so bold and ugly in our clothes nowadays without anyone batting an eye.
I do love me some 50′s glamour, though.

I think we can be bold and ugly in fashion without anyone batting an eye, at least in more civilized parts of the world like New York and LA!
1920s!!!! they kick ass!
My favorite fashion era is, of course, the Victorian Era. Women looked elegant, all the time. They went through pain, wearing tight corsets, to look beautiful. Big hair, big dresses, and a whole lot of glamour
I love clothing from Victorian era & pretty much anything from the 1920′s to about the 1960′s. The sense of style and everyday chic that people had in those ages was just breath taking. The accessories, the shoes the clothes them selves. Everything. People really knew how to dress back then. Ball gowns where so regal that when women walked into rooms men held their breath. Not just starlets mind you but everyday women too. The lady next door could walk in with a new cocktail dress on & people would be stunned. Be the color the beadwork or what have you everything was just better. Clothes also were made to LAST alot longer then too. Now you buy a pair of jeans & six months later they are torn to shreds.
my all time favourite era for clothing ao be without a doubt, the victorian era. I love how girls of any age ould go around wearing the most beautiful dresses and have amazing shoes and no one would say a thing against it ss it was the norm. I love the designs. Simply amazing i wish i coulddo that everyday!
i love the fashion as the 70′s were turning into the 80′s! Bright corduroy pants and funky accessories and shirts that FIT before the 80′s made shirts xx-large for everyone!
Oh, I can’t choose! I love almost all eras because everyone was different and cool. I guess that if I had to choose I’d say Victorian style tho :)
Good luck all!
I also love the Victorian era. The dresses were gorgeous! I wish people still dressed that way! :) Just without the corsets.
My absolute favorite time period is the 50′s. I love how elegant women were. They had the big poofy skirts and the cardigan sweaters yet they made it look beautiful!
I love the roaring ’20s. It was really the beginning of a whole new lifestyle for women- they were seen in a whole new way and that definitely influenced the fashions. I particularly love the doll-like makeup, the short hair, and the unique dress silhouette. Everything from that era just screams madcap mischievious glamour to me!
This is hard. I love 1920s fashion and I love 1980s punk fashion but I think I have to say my favorite is 1960s British mod fashion. The fashion of that era was innovative, creative, and bold. It was one of the first times that “street fashion” was brought to the runway. I love a-line 1960′s mini dresses, bold colored tights, and the fantastic eye make up and styled hair. For the guys I love their fashionable suits, skinny ties and shaggy hair. And to this day Twiggy is still one of my favorite models. She is a style icon.
It’s almost impossible for me to pick one favorite because my style is such a mixture of inspiration. And there are so many different cultures that stand out for each era. If I was forced to choose one and focused on the U.S. I’d probably say the 80′s because that era is a mixture of a lot of inspiration from other era’s. I love bright colors, lace, faux fur, spandex, skinnies, fishnet, and teased hair. I also agree with the choice of the future if it consists of the type of stuff you seein sci-fi and fantasy films <3 I love unconventional materials like vinyl, latex, and metal.
I love the 30′s and 40′s for fashion: so classy! Especially in love with the shoe styles of that era! :)
Umm, a mixture of all them!! I thought I hated the 90′s but then I thought SPICE GIRLS and AQUA! loooooove their
style..tempting,but I would have to say (at the moment at least), the 80′s, big hair, loud make-up…like a little girl who raided her mums wardrobe! very me! it was very daring and extreme, plus, i’d rather look at ugly clothes than samey clothes, and some of the clothes WERE kind of hilarious
I would have to say the 80′s. I love Siousie Sioux, Robert Smith, and sooo many more music icons of that time period and love their style!
My favorite fashion era would have to be, without a doubt the 69′s. I’m talking about the 60′s hippie creativity and bright colors, trippy patterns and curiosities (disposable dresses, anyone?) the free for all fashion expression and face painting, the orgins of crazy makeup. Mixxxed with the early rave scene of the 90′s plastic, futuristic, toys, kandi and strange hairstyles, piercings and tattoos. However, although this doesn’t count as an era per say, my favorite style time is right here, right now. By that I mean the new crazze that is sweeping the nation Forest Fashion! Dressing with the essence of fairytales, wearing my favorite colors purple, green, and brown with hippie homemade clothes and jewlery as well as bright colors, futuristic details and rave fashion. For more info read my style manifesto Forest Fashion Essentials
Victorian era, hands down. Have you seen those boots? Way too cute! I managed to find an adorable pair of black velvet Victorian boots in an old shop in small town Colorado 7 years ago, and I still love ‘em! My favorite shoes.
But really, why do I love the Victorian era? I love corsets. They help accentuate the natural beauty of a female shape, yes, I know that it’s impossible to breath in them, and they weren’t really healthy, but still! And the entire idea of covering up with lace and layers is amazingly sexy. Even if the era was all about repressed sexuality.
Everything about the era is so classic, gorgeous, and there’s an element of the macabre to it that I’ve fallen in love with.
I’ve always adored the 50′s, but lately the fashions of the 70′s have really been growing on me. I love the colours and the whole futurism thing.
I really like the 30s and 40s. The clothing then was so much more flattering to girls with curves, you weren’t supposed to be a rake. Clothes from that era make me feel sexier.
I’m in love with the Victorian era, and the begnings of the 1900s. Actually, I must say the first half of the 20th century has a special place in my heart. It’s just so fabulous!
My favorite fashion period is definitely the Victorian period, but closely rivaled by the styles made popular by Marie Antoinette.
I wish that people took the time to dress themselves as well as they did in olden times!
I absolutely adore the 50′s and still make an effort to collect clothes from this decade whenever I can find them in vintage stores. The classic reds and pinks, the soft pastel hues and the elegant whites and blacks are my preferred color scheme – I rarely deviate from these shades in anything but makeup! Even better than the exaggerated feminine styles and exquisitely tailored clothing is the somewhat repressive sentiment behind them. I think I’m especially drawn to more “traditional” clothing because I am so radical myself. Finally, want to know how those so-called 50′s prudes expressed themselves? Just look at 50′s lingerie! It’s filled with naughty but delicate lace, and practically every goody-goody outfit could be paired with a less than demure slip underneath.
My favorite are, definitely, 30′s and 40′s.
I’m a huge fan of the dress from this area.
i LOVE mixing all eras to create unique looks, but my absolute favorite would have to be the 70′s with all the earth tones and florals. mixing that with modern makeup looks is so much fun!
I personally like the here and now; we have several hundred years of fashion history to draw from (as well as all sorts of cultures worldwide) for inspiration, the Oh So Powerful Tool that is The Internet that allows us instantaneous access to trends as they hit the runway, the blogosphere to gossip about such, and to spread and develop our own taste as we please.
Also, that ever-blurring line between what’s supposedly ‘male’ fashion and ‘female’ fashion! I’d rather witness and partake in its growth than be in a future where it just *is* :)
Uhm, that’s a tough one! I love big, dramatic dresses, so all historic costumes make me happy! Victorian, Regency, etc… <3
My favorite fashion decades are realllly drastically different. I love the 1770-1800 and the late 1970′s punk rock scene. These two time periods are sooo different, but they both speak to different aspects of my personality.
I def love the victorian era as well but I think my favorite era is actually right now. You can see so many different styles walking down the street. It’s like the millenium is a giant collage of styles past and future. From gothic and steampunk to 80s fashion and hollywood glamour. I don’t think I could choose one favorite thing because there is so much out there that is just soo wonderful. And new fashions are emerging every day that I can’t wait to see what comes next.
I love the victorian era as much as the next girl, but right now I’m addicted to the Rococo style!
All those beautiful colours – from soft and pastel to bold and vibrant – always embroidered with interesting stripes and floral patterns that clash so much they match beautifully! The silk, lace, and taffeta and amazing brocade!
I will stop, because I could go on forever!
my favorite fashion era has to be the 30′s when women became more ‘revealing’ and the floor length dresses were being fazed out. I also love it because even tho women were meant to be wearing prim and proper clothing the jazz rings were all about glitter, legs and showbiz.

Definitely Victoria. I just absolutely love the frills! Bustle skirts, bloomers, corsets, cameos, hats, ruffles galore! I can’t get enough of it. So elegant and pretty.
I love the 1870′s for its ostentation, exaggeration, and beautiful ridiculosity! The Victorian era is such a fascinating time, hardly at all the stiff, repressed, boring time it is often portrayed as. It was a time of rapid change on an unprecedented scale. 1870′s bustle gowns were inspired by 18th century gowns, and that is my other favorite fashion era. I wish men would still walk around in pastel silk redingotes edged with embroidery and metallic lace. Why should we ladies get to have all the fun? In my opinion, men’s fashion has been on a decline since the 18th century. I also love 18th century hair! One court lady placed a mill with the miller’s wife having an affair with a priest, and her husband climbing up the hill towards the mill on top of her coiffure. Another had the locks of her relatives woven into her hair! Hairstyles were witty and very competitive. Also, the names of colors of fabrics were bizarre: Caca de Dauphin (inspired by the Dauphin’s soiled diapers) and puce (flea) color!
Mine, like many others here, is a choice between the Victorian era or the 50s. I think I just love petticoats! Chiffon, crinolines, anything to give my skirts lots of impact!
I would say the 60′s! Far and beyond, they were the best. It was comfortable and flowing, and you had two great styles: hippie and mod! Color and patterns! Bright and beautiful! I think it was when fashion started to become cutting edge, and everyone loved it. And I love the message of the fashion too, it’s when a person could dress the way they looked on the inside, and not have to worry about corsets. Definitely an era of girl-power and peace, and I think that’s what clothes should be about now. Women wearing what they want because they want to!

I think my favorite fashion era is probably the 90s. Its when I grew up so I have so many fond memories of the clothes. I loved the jewel tones. plus hello, clueless, one of the best movies ever, had great style. I’m so happy thigh highs are coming back <3
I would have to say my favorite fashion era was the 80′s…I love the crazy use of bold color and silhouette! I also really dig the androgynous look and you saw a ton of that going on then. :)
I like Victorian era clothing 1860s to 75 with the soft bustle look. There is just soo much fabric and elegance! The silhouette from that period is my all time favorite. Huge skirts and tiny waists! I also like the 1930s style pin up girls. They are so cool!
The 50′s! I love how it wasn’t about being “sexy” or “hot” but about being classy. I’d love to be able to wear something without someone asking me what I’m dressed up for. The outfits are adorable and I wouldn’t mind if fashion started going more towards 50′s inspired things! I also love the flapper era, gotta love those dresses!
My favorite era is probably 50′s and 60′s with a big of today mixed in.
I love modcloth!
The 50s were the epitome of sophistication!!!
I don’t know if this counts, but my favorite fashion era is a mixture of two… it is STEAMPUNK!!! a mixture of 19th century Victorian era England plus the Future/Science Fiction/Fantasy Land. Fantasy to the world, real to me! ;)
I love Victorian fashion – ruffles, corsets, high button boots! I was married this year and even had a chic Victorian styled wedding.
