All I want for Christmas…
Category: Unicorn Queen
Here at the blogazine we like sharing glee, and what can be more gleeful than a wish list? Only a wish list fulfilled! In my family, we have a tradition of submitting wishlists before the holidays – that way, everyone gets what they want and it makes the task of gift-giving easier! Of course, surprises are always welcomed… I like to keep a digital wish list year-round so whenever a good idea hits me, I can write it right down. This is what’s on my wish list this year:
- Cute Christmas ornaments!
Every holiday season my Christmas tree gets a makeover. This is what it looked like last year. This year, I’m thinking of turning it into a giant CAKE! Any decorations featuring cupcakes, ice cream, candy, lollipops, unicorns and slices of cakes are what I’m after! Unfortunately these are pretty difficult to come by as apparently, most people don’t want their Christmas trees looking like a giant piece of pastry… So if you know of a place that sells them, please do! And if you have one and are willing to donate, I’d love you forever!
- A soldering iron
When the metal part of my favorite unicorn pendant fell off and I had no tools to fix it, I knew it was time to get one! Because as we know, a soldering iron is a girl’s second best friend (right after spray paint!).
- New Flickr background
Preferably something involving lipsticks. It doesn’t matter if they are my own or not, it’s just the idea of lipstick – it’s the ultimate symbol of glamor & femininity.
- New hair dryer
The one I have is dark green – yuck! I want one in pink, robin’s egg blue, or mint green, or pastel yellow.
- Benefit Laugh with me Lee Lee perfume
A small ‘tester’ vial is just fine; I get over new perfumes fast, but this is the one that piques my interest at the moment.
- Smart phone
Something I’ll have to get on my own, but still good to have on the list as a reminder. Not having one is becoming a real problem: I want to be able to Tweet about buying a gingerbread man at my favorite bakery & seeing zombie children at the skating rink!
- A handsome kettle
I love my pink kitchen. I love it a little too much. I want to cutify it even further and what it really needs is a cute metal kettle to make hot water for my guests. Surely someone makes a polka-dotted one somewhere?!
- Thierry Mugler Fashion, Fetish, Fantasy book
It’s $100 for a reason – endless inspiration!
- Anything unicorn & cupcake related
And by that I mean ANYTHING! Fridge magnets, coasters, band aids, stationery, pens, kitchen stuff…
Deerlings: what’s on your wish list this year?

P.S. My Polyvore wishlist from last year. :)

I love those Benefit perfumes…and the cute poems that go with them. Here is my favorite from ‘Something About Sofia’
she lives in a dream,
more dazzling than fiction
imaginary yet real
she defies all prediction
an incredible girl
she draws you right in
to where everyday ends
and magic begins…

I bought my little sister ornaments last year that were pastry themed. I got they at Urban Outfitters. I saw them again this year so I know they still have them. I wish I had a pic because it was the most tasty christmas tree ever.

Cute list.
And I have this pink hair dryer that works well http://www.sallybeauty.com/pink-hairdryer/SBS-510302,default,pd.html
For the past several years I haven’t asked for much for Christmas. I personally hate how Christmas is very materialistic nowadays. I’m not religious person. I just think it sucks when people feel obligated to buy gifts on this certain day. Or receive gifts you don’t really need or want. Especially when money is tight like it is for lots of people this season. This is my view as an adult. I don’t have quite an issue if you have kids because yeah, they should have a bunch of presents to open on Christmas. But as an adult I feel that I have my own money so I can buy my own stuff. That said, I asked my family to not get me anything. I know money is tight for some of them so I told them if they really wanted to get me something, just donate money in my name to an animal shelter. They need the money more then I do. I also would rather receive handmade or food related items then store bought ones. I am only getting presents for a few people this year but they are mostly handmade. If they aren’t, they are food related. I feel handmade gifts are more from the heart. For instance, last year instead of buying me a present by bf cooked me a fancy 4 course french dinner. I enjoyed that more then anything he could have bought at a store. But for his family I did send them my amazon wish list which mostly contains yoga related stuff and books on crochet/knitting since I just learned how to do it.

Holidays often depress me because it’s a time when humanity takes their level of class up a notch. Also mass shopping at Christmas time is bad for the Environment, in all ways. It makes the rich feel richer and the poor feel poorer. For this reason, I only ask of things that I absolutely need and this year its going to be an SLR/DLR camera. Being an art student without a camera is kind of a sin, lol. I’ve also been interested in taking nice photography for awhile as well as prepping my skills for study abroad senior spring.

Working in the retail business, and more specifically the custom framing retail business, Christmas to me is when I ended up having my returning ulcer, my hair starts to fall out, and I feel like destroying than creating…aside from that, I’ve been more or less happy that I’ve narrowed down my wishlist to two things, A Kindle or a Wacom Digital board so my art won’t have yucky hair….don’t ask it’s easier drawing hair with a stylus and pad than it is with a mouse…

I’ve never come across a polka dot kettle, but Target has them in bright and pastel colors. I got one for my mom in a light lime green and I’ve seen baby blue ones there before.
As for my own wish list, it’s pretty boring. I always ask for lots of books, CDs, and DVDs. I’m also hoping for a skirt from Jessica Louise and the washi blossom ring that’s on ShanaLogic.

Wow! That book looks really cool!
My family gave up wishlists when my mom had too much trouble getting things right. I buy my own gifts with my mom and her debit and she wraps them so i can put them under the tree and act surprised.
I already bought most my stuff but what’s left of what I really wanted this year:
~Lady Gaga:The Fame ~The Dresden Dolls:Yes Virginia
~Urban Decay primer Potion
~Lime crime eye dusts in: Lime Criminal, Medusa, Primmadonna, Shoe Addict and all the rest I don’t have yet. Lipsticks in Styletto, retrofuturist and Centrifushia
~TBK shadow in Capricorn Sea and after Twighlight and 2 glitters from there
~Both 88 color palettes from B&H Cosmetics
~A music box I saw at Borders.
Unfortunatey I’ll only be able to afford Lady Gaga and the primer potion for the magic dusts I already ordered =( Well at least i’ll have a surprise in my stocking.

I just saw some cute stuff on urban outfitters last night,it’s worth a look :)
I’ve been so busy finding gifts for my daughter and niece I haven’t thought of myself yet! but at a glance I’ve been looking into some Lime Crime lipsticks (honestly) :), new shoes, zumeed dj headphones in violet, books, and a bag with ice-cream, cupcakes and a unicorn on it. the last one is so far fetched I think I’ll have to make it myself! LOL
All the best, I hope you get what you wish for!

If you’re looking for cupcake ornaments, there is a tutorial for making some really cute ones: http://www.bakeitpretty.com/blog/?p=511

A fun way to put bright candy on your tree is to buy those old fashioned swirled lollipops with the thick wooden handles and drill a small hole at the end of each handle to put a metal hook through, then you can hang them around your tree!!! (make sure to keep the plastic wrapping around the top) Voila! Edible and adorably bright tree ornaments!

In Michigan, there is this little bavaria called Frankenmuth and in Frankenmuth there is this store called Bronners and all they do is christmas. It is the ultiamate christmas store. They sell every type of ornament imaginable, hundreds upon hundreds and you can order from their website. They had an entire section of the store dedicated to the types of ornaments you are looking for.
My wishlist for christmas was mostly practical things in the hope that I get accepted to go on university exchange next year to england. It will be my first time living on my own and I need things to be able to live on my own

If I could have anything it would be a human hair wig! It’s almost impossible right now though, since they are so expensive and me and my mother don’t have much money at all. I’m kind of going bald and after tons of blood tests and labs and specialists, nobody can figure out why! It stinks being a 17-year-old girl and having people ask you why you have a bald spot or if you have cancer! But oh well, I can stick it out for a while; hopefully I can afford one within the next year before I go to college! Other than that, I would loove LC Airborne Unicorn!

The idea of a wish list you actually give your family is smart. Otherwise you end up with stuff that’s not your stlye that you want to through out be feel guilty over.

You’ll probably be getting that stuff anyway (who doesn’t!) but at least it minimizes the chances. :)

-Really cute tights/ jumpers with fairisle/ scandinavian patterns on them

Most of all I just wanna spend time with my boyfriend who’s coming back from uni in about a week! Being apart at Christmas is rubbish! xx

Maybe you’ll be getting a little something from me. Only if you’re good! :)

You totally don’t have to – unless you have it lying around anyway! Seriously.

I live in Iowa and I was just shopping in a Younker’s in Des Moines where they are selling Christmas ornaments like the ones that you want! They had an entire tree decorated with cupcakes, lolipops, gumdrops, ice cream cones and other goodies! If you know where there is a Younker’s store near you, you might check there…or they might have a catalogue or website that you could order them from. Hope that helps you in your search! (:

They had some cupcake/soda fountain ones by Martha Stewart at KMart, actually. Decent and inexpensive, if you can stand venturing in! The boyo and I bought some for our first tree. I love aaaaanything cupcakes. I got my first cupcake-themed ornament last year for a Christmas gift! I can’t wait to put it on our tree. :)

Not at all (unless you want to). I share my wish list every year because it’s fun and encourage others to share theirs! :)

Amazon has some adorable kettle.
Pig, duck, cow, strawberry, ladybug, or giraffe kettle:

Strawberry kettle:

Those are my favorites.
My parents tend to let me buy my own gifts and then they reimburse me. So far, I have gotten a Lolita sailor outfit, some Lime Crime makeup, and a shirt and pair of shoes from Betsey Johnson. What I would REALLY like for Christmas is sleep and no stress and lots of reading for FUN. Applying to grad school is killing me right now.
Also, for Christmas my boyfriend bought me the book “Why Women Have Sex” by Cindy Meston and David Buss. I’m excited to start that–especially since I just applied to Dr. Meston’s program.

I just want to say I am a huge fan of yours! I can remember when you first started posting make-up tutorials and waiting for your next eBay listing. :) You are so inspiring because you fight for what you want (such as bright colors) and are just a generally hard worker. Thank you so much for being you! :) xo

Hobby Lobby carries loads of candies, cakes and sweets as ornaments! They are fabulous! Pretty decent prices and usually a 40% off coupon can be found!
