I’ve recently discovered Sally Hansen Salon Effects. These apply like film strips, and yes, they really do work! I saw many different patterns at my local Target — from glitter to leopard print to my favorite, butterflies! Best thing? They last longer than your regular polish. At $10, I’m a convert!

Deerlings: Do you look like anyone famous? Do you like the comparison or find it annoying? In college, when my face was skinnier, my nickname was Kate Moss (it was a fashion school). When I had red hair, I mostly got Kirsten Dunst and sometimes Lily Cole — both of which I find incredibly cute! I am also compared a lot to Emily Browning, especially after both of us went platinum-blonde (me on a whim, her for the role as Babydoll in Sucker Punch). The unflattering one for me is Thora Birch, her look is not something I aspire to.

In the process, I found some work that’s never been released. Some of it is bad to the point of funny, some is a-ok, and some is actually surprisingly good! I think I’m going to start posting it, if for no other reason than to embarrass myself document my own progress.

This look is from March 2010 (over a year ago) and is spring-themed. I made the hat especially for it out of glitter and fake flowers. I have no idea why I didn’t share it because it looks beautiful! I can’t remember which products I used on my face, but there is definitely a lot of layering and glitter going on. Enjoy!

Ready for the best news, ever???

Harlow Magazine issue #4 is out — and it contains my 8-page editorial called ICE QUEEN!!!! (Yes, we know it’s almost summer and we don’t care!) Harlow is one of my favorite publications because they straddle the line between alternative and high-fashion. Ice Queen was a collaboration between me and my New York friends, including several outfit/makeup & hair changes. It is probably the best work I’ve done to date. It also may or may not feature one of the new Lime Crime lipsticks coming out over the summer. ;)
