Daily Outfit – December 16 2008
Category: Style Diary
We went to visit my sister’s boyfriend’s family in NJ (ooh! A road trip!). Their house is beautiful and they had a real fireplace!!! I love fireplaces, and wish I had one. So I had to take a picture in front of it immediately. ;)

Matching Christmas ornament

I was told this device is used to squirt air at coals?
- Dress: Betsey Johnson knock-off
- Belt: vintage
- Cameo necklace: gift from a friend
- Tights: opaque red, Target
- Booties: Nine West
- Eyeshadow: Diva
When I brought this dress home from a shopping trip in Soho, nobody liked it. Mark accused it of being ‘last season Anthropologie’, and my sister said the fabric looked cheap. Even the color wasn’t something I’d typically wear – shimmery gray. But to me, the dress has its charm and *I* like it – the only criteria required. ;)

January 13th, 2009 at 2:19 pm[...] tastes don’t match; sad but true. Every woman has at least one outfit that she adores (hello, gray dress!) but her beau just can’t appreciate. Could there be any more perfect time to rock [...]

I like the dress too. You look just like my friend Sammy in these pictures, only with redder hair.
Fireplaces are amazing. My family has one, and during the three weeks or so of winter that AZ has, we use it a lot. Mmmm. Now I want ot go home and roast marshmallows.

I think that dress is gorgeous. It’s certainly something that would be hard to wear, but you seem to have no trouble making it work. :)

I really love the style of the dress, especially the skirt part. Haha, and that thing you’re carrying isn’t just used for fireplaces, it was used in coal trains, as well. Keeps the fire hot!

Cute!
Lucky me, I have a fireplace in two of my houses :P Unfortunatelly, I live in a small flat in Lisbon :( I wish I could live in my village or in Sines (south of Portugal), where my places are HUGE and cute.

There’s something that makes you not look like you in the first and last photo, though I’m not sure what.
We have a fireplace, but it doesn’t heat the room. It is nice to have, we’re going to use it on Christmas.

Ah yes, bellows. Fires get choked by their ashes and so you use the bellows to get oxygen to the coals. This is why it is so annoying to go camping with people who keep throwing random stuff on the fire. It just makes the fire die quicker! *end rant* haha!

wow! awesome dress! The fabric is so cool! Looks all weird and 3d kinda. It reminds me of Terminator when they shape shift and turn into that weird liquid metal, zinc? It looks ace on you anyway :)

I love the dress!
i’m trying to save my natural wood fireplace. it’s so beautiful, but my parents want to replace it with a fake insertion. so far, i’ve managed to make the shelled out fireplace a favorite sleeping spot for the cats. that’s three in favor of keeping the fireplace!

I too think the dress is great, It looks like it would be amazing with a crinoline too. The styling you did with it it fab, the red tights with the red hair bring out your eyes, just lovely.

Hello! I love your outfits, you’re always looking great. I found this website by chance and I absolutely love it. The dress is simply fabulous, I think grey and red are looking great together. I recently bought red tights, just like yours, and didnt know how to combine them, now I got the idea. Greetings!!

I’m not a huge fan of the dress as a whole, but I love the way that the fabric gives a Frank Miller-style high-contrast look in the photographs.

I love this dress – both the colour and style, it’s lovely! But then I love anything silvery (:…

I’m not a silver person myself, but I do like the high-intensity shine the fabric has. Its a hard color for us redheads to wear, it totally blanches my skin if I don’t adorn it properly.
The matte color of the boots throws me off a little bit, but the contrast isn’t all that shocking with the red tights =)

You look amazing as always. :P The silver looks very festive on you. :) … so I figured out why I was having problems with the eyeshadow… apparently it doesn’t work as well if I use sponge applicator things… once I started using brushes, it made a whole lot more sense. Happy holidays!

I have to ask, are you wearing Lime Crime eye shadows in these pics and if you are what shades? i LOVE this kind of look on you as well. The understated (but still unique and eye catching) make-up colors look amazing with your new flaming red hair.
