i dress completely for myself. i Love being a female and wish to express that. my style i would say is pretty feminine. colors are pastels and i like simplicity. never sleezy but classy. i feel low self esteem females dress for attention from both men and women. classy females will dress for one self and realize her grace and femininity will attract men no matter what as long she seems positive and comfortable in her own skin. great question. 1LOVE!

In my opinion many women dress like skanks and if thats dressing to impress, they are attracting the wrong kind of people. Sure doesn't impress me.

I dress for myself most of the time. I love fashion and am quite experimental with what I wear. If I wear a short skirt it's because I like it and think I look good in it. Though it is annoying when I run down to the shop and get comments from desperate men in the street (get a life!!!).Wearing a short skirt or low cut top or any other item that you feel comfortable in and makes you look good is not an invitation for men - and men need to get this into their heads! I don't wolf whistle good looking men in tight jeans or t-shirts or think they are easy bait. But sadly, there is nothing we women can do about this. I say be confident and wear what you like - who cares if men gawp, the ones who usually make a scene are the ones who haven't got the balls to approach a good looking woman in the first place. Pity them, don't let them bother you!

If I want to wear an outfit, I will wear it an I don't care what other people think! However, on occasion, say a special occasion I will make an effort to choose an outfit my boyfriend likes and thinks I look good in... and actually he does the same for me because it isn't just women who like to impress with what they wear. Actually it worries me slightly when he takes longer than me to pick out his outfit lol, but I appreciate the effort.

From Utah (Male perspective) from answers.com

Women often complain about how men treat them (without respect, as objects, etc.). But women must remember that men are very visual creatures, and a woman’s body language usually dictates how a man will treat her. If a woman dresses with dignity and carries herself with grace, most men will approach that woman with respect and honor. On the other hand, if a woman dresses like a man (pants, short hair, etc.), a man will treat her like “one of the guys.” If a woman dresses immodestly (short skirt, tight jeans, cut-off shirts), a man will often view her as a sexual object and no more.
