Q: Why did Doe go to the gym in full makeup? (Answer at the end of the post)
All eye shadows used are from my upcoming line Lime Crime Makeup – available for sale in 3 weeks!
INGREDIENTS
- Eyes: Elf, Circus Girl, Nymph, Shoe Addict eyeshadows; black liquid liner, turquise eyeliner pencil, black mascara, false lashes
- Lips: hot pink lipstick, lipliner.
- Blush: Electric Bubblegum
Eyes
I wanted something ethereal, magical, elfish. Elf green is one of my favorite colors, ever – it goes on smooth, vibrant and super shimmery!
To achieve the brightest color, dab some eyeshadow base OR your favorite foundation over the eyelids with a foam sponge, prior to applying eyeshadow. The color will go on even brighter if you use a wet brush!
I started out by applying Nymph (white/gold sparkle highlighter) on the center of eyelid, blending out in all directions. Elf was then applied concentrating on outer corners, going into the crease and just above inner corners. Go over with the highlighter to ensure smoothness of color. Accentuate outer corners over and under the eye by adding a hint of Shoe Addict (a very nice, bright blue color). With a round brush, do a wash of Elf on the lower lid, blending well into the blue. Circus Girl Yellow is applied slightly over the crease. Apply the highlighter directly onto your brow bone (under the eyebrows) and blend into the yellow. With a thinner brush, highlight the inner corners of your eye, blending outwards and into the green.
I filled in the waterline with a turquoise-blue pencil, then drew a line along the top lashes with a black liquid liner, extending slightly outwards. False lashes are glued directly onto that line. Since I wore this makeup outside in the park, I wanted to ensure the lashes were on securely – so I put on a coat of mascara to help false lashes bond with my own.
Once you’re done with the eyes, clean up the mess with a baby wipe or Wet Ones.
Face
Apply foundation using a foam sponge applicator where needed. Be sure to cover all dark areas such as around the nose and mouth, under the eyes. Use cake concealer if you have especially dark under eye circles.
Using a large brush, apply Electric Bubblegum blush on the apples of your cheeks. Blend well. (Detailed tutorial on blush application can be found here.) Finish with translucent powder.
Lips
I am still looking for an intense violet-pink lipstick that will show up nice and bright. MAC Show Orchid is a bright pink but it’s not intense enough, nor is it that violet. I always resort to applying a lipstick that’s close enough to the base color, then mixing in some pigment to adjust it. I will post a tutorial on how to do this soon!
Answer: I went to the gym in full make up to test out my new eye shadows. :) I spent about 40 minutes on a bike, sweating profusely. At the end, my hair was a horrible mess – but my makeup still perfectly fresh!!! I may have made a total ass out of myself at the gym, but at least I can now honestly say my product is long-lasting. :)

ALL of them will be vegan-friendly! Not tested on animals, 100% mineral.
And with that one photo Miss Doe, you have won me over completely, I’m gonna be putting aside some money to purchase some shiny new make up. Oooo so pretty!!
Normally I hate makeup (a day when I wear anything more than mascara is a BIG deal for me), but I love how gorgeous this looks on you! I’m going to have to give this a shot– and I’ll definitely have to give your makeup like a try when it comes out :] Will the line include lip colour, eyeliner, foundation, etc., or will it just be eyeshadow?
I just did a little dance of excitement for awesome colored, quality vegan makeup! I can’t wait!

Can I request some tutorials for choosing colors/shapes to best compliment your eyes?
For example, my eyes are rounder than yours and a very deep green. Not all the makeup designs that look great on you will look good on me.
Also, I’d love to see more “wearable” looks to wear to work ;)
I have some questions about your new line :) What’s the color range going to be like? Because these light, cool, shimmery colors seem to show up best on pale or dark skin, not so much olive skin or skin that’s yellow/warm toned. I hope you have some rich and warm toned colors as well – that would be awesome!
Also, may I ask where you got your fantastic falsies?
Love it, love it. I want to mix up some lipstick like that for myself.. Your description of applying the eyeshadow confused me, haha.. since I know how to apply makeup I just look at it and go “Ok, I see how that’s done.” lol

But why would anyone want me to do office make-up? You can get that anywhere online. My shtick is to give you something you can’t get anywhere else! ;) Perhaps I misunderstood your question?

The range will be quite extensive, actually. Anything from high-shimmer to matte, light to very dark. While I can theoretically make any color I want, whether I carry it or not will depend on the demand. I’ll do limited editions to test-drive different shades!
The falsies came from a beauty supply store in Manhattan, but you can buy similar ones on eBay.

I just went through all your tutorials in search of a “Tinkerbell-ish” one because I’m wearing a bright lime green dress to my Prom and I absolutely feel like Tinkerbell in it, and this tutorial seems to really fit with the color scheme I’m going for!
