Exercise & Diet

Category Letters from Readers

I was wondering what your diet and exercise routines were? What foods do you eat/not eat? -Krysta

Very timely question. Over the winter, I’ve allowed myself to slack off and stopped exercising. When it’s cold outside, I tend to go on a see-food diet: I see food, I eat it. As a result, my body got a little too happy converting all the extra calories I was feeding it into fat – I gained weight. I developed a sweet tooth and was having a desert with every meal, sometimes cooking my own (!) pies. The more sweets I ate, the more I craved it seemed.

I’m quickly returning to my normal weight now, but I had to make a few adjustments to my eating habits and level of physical activity. I currently follow a Moderation Diet: I eat everything I like, but limit the portions/frequency of the ‘naughty’ stuff. There was a study where 3 groups of overweight people were put on a low-carb, low-fat, and low-protein diets in order to determine who will lose weight faster. The only requirement was that they exercise 30 minutes a day (very reasonable). The results were somewhat surprising: they all lost the same amount. It doesn’t matter what diet you’re on, it’s all about calories-in, calories-out! Most people find it’s easier to control their calorie intake by staying on a high-protein, low in carbs/fat diet as it gives you the necessary nutrients without making you feel hungry all the time. If your diet leaves you hungry, you’re on the wrong kind of diet!

Foods that comprise the larger portion of my diet are:

  • grains
  • veggies
  • chicken
  • pasta
  • dairy
  • fish
  • fruit

On occasion I’ll eat eggs, pastries & chocolate, drink fruit juice & tea. I avoid beef, pork, lamb, alcohol, sodas and coffee.

Exercise is trickier for me. I love badminton – I’ll play it in the park, in my living room, at the airport (I once threw out my back playing in JFK, haha). Unfortunately, it’s not a winter sport and I wasn’t able to find a suitable indoors location in my area. Weights, stationary bike and jogging all bore me to death – I never have enough incentive to continue. I think it’s super important to find your glee exercise, something you enjoy doing enough to actually keep up! For me, it’s badminton in the summer and hula hooping/skipping rope in the winter. The latter two are awesome because you get to watch TV simultaneously – before you know it, you’ve put in a whole hour! I exercise about 3 times a week.

Of course, everybody is different so different things work for different people. Deerlings: do you follow a diet/exercise?

good information! i also eat whatever i want, just in moderation. i also don’t drink anything but water. i feel better than when i was in high school!

  • Ash says:

I also have a see-food diet, but I’ve been trying to curb that lately. I love running and jogging. To me, it is very freeing, and I like the fact that if someone evil is chasing me, I can get away if I have to!
I have the nike+iPod pedometer which allows me to track my progress and keep motivated. Other than that, I enjoy long walks with my headphones, jump-rope, and weight-training with my brother.

I find that switching up your exercise routine every so often will help to keep you motivated :)

  • Ash says:

In addition to my last comment, I avoid pop, white bread (most of the time, but I do love it!), and try to avoid fried foods. I’m also a vegetarian and eat lots of veggies and pasta. The trick to attaining your healthy weight is to eat food in moderation, like Doe says. In North America, we are sooooo used to massive portion sizes, and we have to learn what a proper portion size is.

  • Sal says:

I love the idea of “glee exercise.” Biking is mine, but badminton, too!

  • JEN says:

if you go to thedailyplate.com, you can plug in your fitness goals, weight, and all the foods you’re eating and it will calculate how many calories you have left to eat in a day to still lose the weight you want to lose. also, it allows you to plug in exercise and calculates the calories lost as well. its a great tool for dieters! I LOOOVE BADMINTON! i was captain of my team in high school ;)

  • Rosie says:

I don’t have one exercise that I really love that doesn’t envolve a team, since my favorite sports are soccer and basketball. This makes it hard to play, cause I’m not super good so I never get on the team. Recently I did Archery in gym class, but my mom is very hesitant, I can’t find a place to do it regularly, and It’s not a huge work out.

Diet wise, I drink a ton of milk, eat not too huge meals, and have a huge sweet tooth.

Love the idea of a moderation diet.

  • Ali says:

I’ve stopped drinking soda since high school, and if I do partake, it’s not like Coke or Sprite– they’re too sweet and carbonated. I prefer more natural tasting beverages like Izze. I’ve always loved savory > sweet. I like sweets but they always just leave me wanting something salty or spicy. I eat in a co-op at school so we cook our own meals with primarily local/organic foods. I love meat but after eating with a group that is 50% vegetarian, in a system where meat is expensive, i have learned to go without for a while.

oh god i am writing a novel here. whoops.

i breakdance for two hours every saturday, plus i try to hit up the gym a few times a week, usually spend friday and saturday night dancing my butt off, and i do circus things so that’s a good amount of exercise too.

  • Natalia says:

It must be eastern european genes! I grew up in South Africa, and now that I’m spending the year in Poland I’ve gained like mad!
But it’s futile to try lose while it’s still cold- I’ll wait until spring get here and gorge myself on fruit.

  • I try to think long term and overall health as well as having a healthy weight. The best decision I ever made was going vegetarian (and now vegan). The way animals are treated and raised they are almost as bad as the chemical filled junk food (actually they are hormone and chemical filled because of factory farming practices). And all dairy has cancer-causing agents too!

I stopped drinking soda in high school and never really ate fast food, but since becoming vegetarian my immune system has been amazing. I just don’t get sick at all.

Plus there are so many alternatives available it was the easiest and best switch I ever did! That plus walking/jogging are my health tips for feeling amazing inside adn out, physically and emotionally.

    Luv
    Poochie

  • Shannon M says:

I follow the same diet you do, everything in moderation. If I want some fast food fries, I get the small or child sized, I drink lots of water, and try to choose foods that will fill me up with out making me fat. I have been slowly loosing weight this way. I also only eat when I am hungry.

  • Kittie says:

I avoid soda like the plague. It’s like drinking a bag of sugar and it’s too gaseous hehe.

Walking everywhere does wonders. I walk to the mall, the coffee shop, walk to my fav record store etc. instead of taking the bus within reason of course hehe. I rarely take the subway. But there are days in the summer where I walk at least 2km. Take the stairs. Walk on your lunch break. Go window shopping. In the winter, if you dress warmly, you end up walking more too rather than rushing to get indoors when you’re not warmly. I have a shapeless camping type parka in the winter and end up walking more. When I strip off my parka in time for spring, people think I lost weight lol.

Maybe it’s because I live right downtown in a big city? Women tend to walk more when they live in the city compared to the suburbs and small towns where they have no choice but to drive everywhere.

Dancing in your living room for 1 hour a day to your favorite song even if it’s on repeat is a glee exercise hehe. Badminton is so much fun!!! :D

  • Jackie says:

I tried being a vegetarian for two months last year and it was horrible. I really would like to not eat meat, but my body needs it. I was getting terrible headaches and I even had to go to the hospital because the headaches were making me sick. I don’t eat fish at all though, never have. I heard a lot of fish have mercury…so no thanks.
Right now I’m trying to cut down on the portions I eat and also not snack on fatty foods…but it ain’t easy…lol. I walk to school everyday so I guess that’s my exercise. Next quarter I’m also going to take two dance classes so I’m looking forward to that. =)

  • Kittie says:

    Hi Natalia!

I’m half Polish and lived in Poland for a year. It’s true! Their diet mainly consists of meat and potatoes especially pork. I personally don’t eat pork, I get really sick when I do. They do have a lot of vegetables incorporated into their diet like red beets, carrots, potatoes with dill and cucumbers. Kubus was my favorite drink when I lived there! It’s a fruit nectar juice :)

When you move to a different country, you are adapting to different foods you’re not used to but it will turn around once you’re settled :)

  • Isy says:

I’m never really hungry and I eat really equilibrated -but fantastic italian food… you don’t need diets to be thin. Just go running, and drink tons of water.

  • Alinä says:

Well i love cycling i get so excited when i get into my bike/stationary bike with my beloved ipod, as i follow the rhythm of the music i can seriously stay there for 3 hrs without getting bored, of course i try to do 1 hr in the morning and 1 before i hit the pillow.
I do not follow any diet since im vegan and things are easier that way i eat cheese in moderation but the rest i just take it, usually my plate is filled with veggies and grains and of course soy sauce :D stay away from ranch dressing and all that jazz.

  • Kate says:

I’m a vegetarian (& don’t eat egg), I think thats the only real food ‘rule’ I follow (ie. no meat/seafood). I tend to eat a lot of mushrooms, nothing else too out of the ordinary though.

I live near a huge big ‘ol common too, which is great motivation to get outside & work out (work off the beer calories consumed the previous night – beer is my calorific weakness!).

  • i heart joan says:

I’m vegetarian, and I eat pretty well I think. The only thing is that it’s a little more difficult to find proteins and fatty acids – I can’t eat nuts all the time!

My favourite exercise is rock climbing, it’s low impact and you use most of your muscles. Swimming is good in that sense too, but a little more relaxing! xx

  • Jenny says:

I limit myself during the week. I eat lots of sandwiches or salads, some fruit, and lean meat. If I need a sweet fix during the week (and I always do), I’ll have a bowl of cereal or a granola bar. Not the best choice, but I do love cereal. <3 During the weekend, I allow myself to have any foods I want. I do go overboard sometimes, but when the new week starts, I always end up getting back on track. Generally, I don’t eat anything very greasy or fatty unless it’s a special occasion, and I don’t drink anymore either, so that helps.

As for my exercise…well, it’s hard during the winter. I love walking, and I never want to go outside to do it since it’s so cold. I also love to dance, so I should probably take Kittie’s advice and just dance in my room! Anyway, I joined a gym, but like you, weights and exercise machines bore me, so I haven’t been in ages. Since I’ve moved here, I’ve lost my muscle tone and gained a few pounds, but it’s nothing that can’t be reversed!

  • Cassie says:

I just had a conversation with my doctor about this not too long ago. I’m 140 pounds overweight and finally decided it was time for a change. He told me for the next 3 months (until I see him again), I am to walk for 10 minutes a day and drink nothing but water. The first week, I lost 6 pounds! I used to live on Mountain Dew, but I was drinking over 2000 calories a day in sodas! I feel better and have more energy than I have in years! (and I’m just 24!) I’m also watching what I eat. I’m eating whatever I want, but no second helpings and smaller portions. So far, so good!

  • Chriss says:

Food is mostly psychological for me. If I don’t have food then I won’t be hungry. Whenever I eat too much on one day, I wouldn’t eat anything the next day. It wouldn’t feel like I’m starving myself. The guilt keeps me going.

My main mode of exercise is speed walking. I usually walk around the city. From Chelsea to Alphabet City and Chinatown to Times Square.

  • Stephanie B. says:

When I lived in San Diego I use to eat nothing but fish, fruits and veggies that my mom would grow in the backyard and lots of rice (I’m asian so its hard to break a habit that you’ve had your whole life). But now that I have my current boyfriend its hard for me to eat the way I use to since he’s use to eating nothing but steak and potatoes, which I find really gross since beef in general always makes me sick. Not to mention its hard to get veggies here in pittsburgh that are fresh unless you spend a fortune.Needless to say I’ve gained quite a bit of weight since I moved here 3 yrs ago!!! It’s really hard to do things outside since there’s really no sun for most of the year, so I’ve been doing DDR (yeah I know some people think its really dumb) but it is fun and it gets you moving and sweating.Bento boxes are great for weight lose since there’s already portion control built in and you can make them in advanced.

  • Red says:

I follow the exercise and drink-a-shit-ton-of-water rule. I ALWAYS feel better when I do this!

  • Shera says:

i’m also on the moderation diet. working wonders for me. unfortunately, i’m not the exercise type but i do try! luckily i have spring break from college next week and i’m going in for “booty camp” which is my intense physical work-out with a trainer. phew…gonna be a tough one hehe.

  • Cara says:

Losing weight is the bane of my life, I am almost constantly dieting and trying to lose weight. I lost 8kg a year ago and was on top of the world, but then slacked off and gained it all back (and then some!) so I’m desperately trying to lose the weight again but don’t have the motivation to diet like I did. Luckily I am super motivated to exercise, which means I am balancing out my eating at least. I hate being so obsessed with losing weight but it’s just part of who I am. At least it means I’m healthy though, since I don’t do fad diets!

  • kagitsune says:

Ooh, Great article! I have a similar diet: high on natural, good-for-you-yet-delicious foods, low on meats and bad-for-you sweets. ^^ As for excercise, I walk to class at a vigorous pace and (don’t laugh) play a little DDR. xD

  • Kellee says:

I don’t really follow a specific diet. Which, in my case, isn’t so great, because I just end up munching. Though lately I’ve switched from things like chips and chocolate, to popcorn(which is better for you than chips.. yay!), crackers and muffins. As for exercise, I also haven’t been able to do much for that lately, besides chasing little kids around my grandmother’s living room. When I do get a chance to work out, I use the wii fit(I know some people say it’s no good, but it had been working for me), and I also have the complete set of Carmen Electra’s “Fit to Strip” workout dvds, which I love. I’d also like to do some rollerblading this spring.. I miss doing that.

  • Debbie says:

No carbs works for me, with the exception of my love for baking that brings back the love handles every time :). I love my eliptical machine it’s like running/gliding in my own room and with a 2 year old at my side it is my only choice. One day, I”ll be able to do some outdoor exercise again…when the baby stops protesting the jogging stroller ;)

  • Jade Marie says:

I am also on a moderation diet. I LOVE carbs and fatty foods, which makes it hard to be skinny, but I work hard. I love yoga and belly dancing, riding my bike, badminton, volleyball… I’m an equal-opportunity exerciser.

  • Amy says:

I go for walks with the dog and have a rebounder so I do a little dancing on that every morning.

I eat mostly raw fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds, but I still binge on ice cream occasionally -I love chunky monkey from Ben +jerrys too much! I try not to because it effects my skin and my energy levels the next day but it’s always been my comfort food.

  • Mary says:

Badmitton is so fun. It seems that few people I know enjoy it though.
I decided to give up Soda for lent, and it makes me feel much better. I have been drinking green tea’s, and a lot of water.
I still have a way to go, thanks to my wonderfull family genes. I am awating spring so I can take some long walks and jogs.

  • Brin says:

I like hula hooping too! It’s easy and so much fun! I make my own hula hoops so I have all different sizes

  • Gaiya says:

Awwll… your see-food diet is so cute! I had a weird thing a week ago where I just couldn’t stop eating ice cream and donuts!! And not just any ice cream either… the ones with chocolates and caramel.. Thankfully that period is over and I’m coming back to my normal weight. My glee exercising is martial arts and group dancing. I loose interest really quickly if I’m doing it alone.. I need to do it with a group. I eat easy to prepare fruits like apples.

  • Tara says:

I have no diet plan really.. I just eat what I like, when I want to eat it. Overall, my foods consists of traditional Tsimshian foods- spring salmon, coho, dried seaweed, clams, berries, deer or moose meat when my uncles go hunting, cockles, oolichans, halibut, etc and the usual rice, potatoes, kraft dinner, canned/frozen veggies, seasonal fruit, ramen noodles, whatever junk food I’m craving at the moment. I drink about 3-4 bottles of water a day, and quite a bit of ice caps from Tim Hortons during the week. I’m within the healthy weight range for my height [5'4" at 130lbs]. I try to work out but during the winter months I just want to snuggle with a cup of cocoa. By end of this month I’ll be taking Muay Thai Boxing classes, so I’ll get my workout and also learn how to kick butt :)

I’m a Nutrition/Dietetics major in college right now so I’ve been a lot more of aware of what I eat, and vitamins and such.
I hope no one minds me plugging this site, but
    http://www.stumptuous.com/category/eating/how_to_eat

    and http://www.stumptuous.com

is geared towards women in particular and has great health info, and exercise stuff! (its not my site)

I work at Chipotle nearly 5 days a week so I eat a lot of fresh veggies (yay guacamole!), beans, romaine lettuce, and rice. Lately I’ve been eating a lot of vegetarian black beans and getting veggie burritos, even though I’m not a vegetarian. I’m on a see-food diet too =]. I’m a tiny girl but I can out-eat anyone. I also go to the gym 4-5 days a week or work out at home with free weights. In the summer I run with my dog and my glee exercise is horse-back riding, hiking, and dancing to the music stations on my tv haha.
oh, and mall walking counts too, right? ;]

God, you’re all such healthy eaters! Well done!

Kellee- i have the first dvd, do you recommend the others?! carmen Electra is fabulous!

My glee exercise was pole dancing- its amazing exercise, the amount of sit ups and push ups done before and during a class is unreal, Id wake up the next morning and every muscle hurt, was unbelievably fit!

Now I cant afford the classes so without my own pole I got lazy. And discovered the mint kit kat chocolate bar….. :)

Actually starting a new diet today after consuming so much sugar and crappy food yesterday and waking up this morning with a killer headache.
My major vice is soda, so I’m cutting that out entirely and switching to water.
I’m really enticed to start hula-hooping now, I imagine it does wonders for the torso and hips?
I’m a sit-up/crunches freak, I love them! I feel so satisfied after completing a set, but a hundred sit-ups does not a flat stomach make, it only tones the muscles underneath.
I also love to run, dance and rollerskate (hello calf muscles!) But with the crappy weather here, rollerskating is practically impossible.
I find that music inspires me to work out more, if I’m running to a high energetic song, I like to keep in time. Or if it’s a really happy song, it makes running and dancing much more fun.

Does anyone have any suggestions for songs to exercise to?

  • Mishka says:

Timely indeed! I had the same problem over the holidays, especially the ‘see food, eat it’ thing. I have been on my healthy eating/exercise diet for about a month now and the results are quite amazing. Already my clothes are fitting better and my face is getting thinner!

I do about an hour of exercise 4-5 times a week, and the food-plan is much like yours. I’m going to try and keep it up for a few months, or as long as possible until I get to my goal weight.

Good luck everyone with your healthy eating!

  • Fishy says:

Hmmm I’m also Polish, but well it really amazes me how most of the Polish girls are supermodel-thin despite the diet. Unfortunately I’m not one of them. I took after my father and not my mother who can eat what she wants and still look almost anorectic :O Although I don’t look like from a cover of a magazine, I am not fat either. I eat almost no meat and eat sea-food and tofu instead. I eat loads of veggies!! Beacuse of my skin problems I eat fruit 5 times a day and drink only water and green tea. I was guilty of drinking lots of alcohol, but I stopped it now (I did it 2 years ago as well and you really get thinner. I always had a belly which I couldn’t lose no matter what I ate but when I stopped with alco it was gone!). I mostly don’t eat sweets and stuff like chips, fast food and chocolate are forbidden. I eat both sweets and meat for special occasions but I’ve observed that if you eat more of those you’ll also crave more for them!!

As for exercises I don’t do much at the moment. I’m flatbroke and have no money for the gym, but since I live in Amsterdam I cycle or walk everywhere! And seeing your boyfriend very often can do wonders as well ;)

  • elrodien says:

seems like everyone’s thinking about fitness these days!
I cant say no to sweets so…i allow myself 1 bar of chocolate every 2 days…and it is still hard to keep it!
Also about 10 days ago the Lent started (it’s 40 days before Easter) and for the first time i decided to not eat meat at all during lent. Instead,i eat lots of fish and vegetables, dairy and pasta, which is very very tasty!!!
Lat but not least…i loooove tai chi, that’s my “gleeful exercise”, by doing half hour every day and 1 1/2 hr 2 times a week i keep my zen and my whole body fit! :)))

  • Kitty says:

I Love hula-hooping! It’s ridiculously fun, and it burns about 100 calories every 10 minutes…That’s about as much as you burn doing the boring hamster thing on a treadmill! It’s a great cardio and it actually SCULPTS THE ABS AND THIGHS!!! I almost died when I discovered it was possible to hula-hoop myself all the way to bikini season!!! I posted about it here:http://abellevie.squarespace.com/daily-blog/2009/1/12/i-want-a-hula-hoop-no-really.html

  • shayne says:

I am a vegetarian and have been for 17 years so I eat mainly whole fresh veggies (a huge Variety of them daily), fruit, beans and grains and healthy fats (avocados, nuts). I do eat eggs (as long as they are free range and organic) and cheese occasionally but cheese is really the only dairy I eat. I prefer soy yogurt & ice cream to the real thing. I also don’t drink milk. If I need milk for something it’s soy milk. I also take an omega 3 & 6 & 9 supplement daily (Udo’s vegetarian 3, 6, 9 omega oil blend http://www.florahealth.com/flora/home/canada/products/R7980.asp) which is an amazing product and important for vegetarians since omega 3 is mainly found in fish. I’m also lucky in the fact I don’t have a sweet tooth (except for fruit) so I’m not big on desserts. When I have cravings it’s usually for something salty, bitter or spicy (LOVE spicy food) then sweet. My typical day starts out with a cup of granola with flax seeds with soy vanilla yogurt & fresh berries. My lunch at work is usually some kind of soup and then lightly salted pretzels dipped in spicy hummus. My bf is the cook in my household so dinner is cooked by him. He is an amazing cook so we tend to eat things like homemade pizza, veggie curries, rice & beans with veggies, homemade soups with homemade bread, veggie sushi and miso soup etc… And we typically have a salad with dinner too. It’s good to get uncooked veggies daily since cooked veggies don’t have as many nutrients…heat kills them.

For exercise I do yoga 5-6 days a week. Lately I’ve been doing mostly kundalini yoga. It’s a bit more cardio. And it has gotten me into awesome shape. I have more muscle tone on my body then I ever have. I’ve been practicing yoga for about 7 years now and it’s the only exercise that doesn’t bore me and it’s great for my mental state. It keeps me off psych drugs. ha! I also have to say since I’ve been taking that super oil blend, I have been losing weight simply because the oil makes me eat less in a sitting. I am a petite girl (5’4” and about 120 pounds) but I can eat my plate clean and I would do it often. Now my body works better at telling me to stop eating because I’m not hungry anymore. And I put the oil in my morning breakfast (granola soaks it up) and at night for dinner. It’s great on salad or in soups, on veggies etc…

I’m also reading up a ot about whole foods and nutrition since I am looking into getting my masters in Holistic Nutrition.

  • shayne says:

PS. For winter exercise ice skating is awesome. I started ice skating at the rink downtown in my city this winter and it’s fun and it does work on your body. The day after the first time I did it I was super ass sore the next day. I’ve gone a few times this winter and it’s great. And cheap. To skate here for 3 hours with rental skates it’s $10. I’m planning on buying my own skates for next winter.

And doe, another thing you can try for exercise is belly dancing. I was taking lessons for awhile and it was a lot of fun and a great workout. Plus you get to wear a fun skirt that gingles. :)

  • shayne says:

    To: i heart joan

Eat avocados for good fats. Or coconut milk. My bf and I go through 3-4 avocados a week. He makes guacamole each week and then we tend to put cut up avocados in salads or in grilled cheese. And for protein you can eat tofu, mushrooms, dark leafy greeens (collard greens, spinach and broccoli rabi are awesome for this). Key is eat a huge variety of foods and then you won’t be missing anything.

  • shayne says:

    One more thing…

I also want to say that drinking a lot of water is important. I don’t drink soda either. I drink coffee on weekends and mostly tea (green) & water during work. I’m not big on fruit juice (too sweet) but I love veggie juice. I heart my juicer at home. I also don’t drink a lot of alcohol. Usually just wine or a good micro brew beer with dinner once or twice a week.

And because I do eat mainly healthy I don’t watch what I eat or count calories. My bf (who I live with) isn’t vegetarin but he respects my wishes for not bringing meat/fish into the apartment to cook. He mainly eats it outside of the house (or if we get take out thai food I don’t mind him getting a dish with chicken) but he loves vegetarian food so it works for us. And when he does eat meat it’s usually fish (sushi) or free range organic meat which if you are going to eat meat, I’d rather have you eat that then all that fast food crap that is out there.

And to those vegetarians out there, be careful what cheese you eat. Not all of it is vegetarian. Some use animal rennet. Same goes for beer and wine. Not all is vegetarian. I was upset to find out guiness isn’t vegetarian. And don’t forget gelatin…that is not vegetarian. I ahve to say nto eating gelatin is an easy way to not eat a lot of candy. ha.

  • Renai says:

Exercise wise: I ride my bike as much as possible (I ride to work every day when it’s not freezing!), and I don’t own a car so I walk a lot as well. I hula hoop as much as I can, but don’t necessarily have a lot of time to do it. Biking is great because it’s multi-functional!

Diet wise: I don’t eat any meat (aside from seafood), dairy, soda, or processed foods. I prepare almost everything that I eat, and I try to eat a good balance of different grains and veggies. My only weakness is my ridiculous sweet tooth- so there are a lot of baked goods in my life. I quit drinking heavily about a year ago as well, and promptly dropped 20 pounds.

I am trying to get back into yoga, and to start running regularly- but I’m so busy most of the time that it can be hard to find time.

  • Renai says:

I should also note that I only drink water and tea as well, and lots of it!

  • Nikki says:

Watching tv and exercising at the same time is the best! I love exercisetv on demand. They have a lot of different workouts, like yoga and Jillian Michaels’ tough workouts, and it’s free!

  • Variety says:

My spouse and I do the same moderation thing. We try to cook and not eat out much. As far as getting up and doing? We also play badminton, we just started last week actually! And this weird hands-and-knees bounce-tennis-hand-ball game at my work, before close when no one comes in. But honestly, before that? We noticed we BOTH lost considerable inches off out waistlines and thighs and whatnot when we started having sex.
