Tales of the Unicorn Queen

Oh, fairytale picnic! You were so worth fighting for. The weather was beautiful – warm, sunny, bright blue skies over the giant that is Central Park. The lawn was filled with people playing ball, flying kites and getting some sun on the green grass. Our picnic was a huge success – everyone came dressed up to the nines and we had numerous strangers come over, intrigued by what was going on. :)

Shien (founder of Dances of Vice) in her incredible dress!

Grettel

Hansel & Grettel

At one point bubbles populated the entire lawn, awesome!

What a dress!

Flying a kite

I told this old man that I’ve never flown a kite and a few minutes later he comes back with a kite and puts it in my hand!! It was so awesome! I offered him cheesecake but he said he couldn’t have any due to health concerns. :(

The Belvedere Castle, a real stunner

Looking grumpy next to some fine Shakespearean maidens ;)

Anna aka Ghost. She is paler than me!

Mashinka the Queen of Hearts, my new Russian friend of impeccable manners & style

I got the best cards this year. Actually, all of the gifts were amazing – thank you!

Mom = female version of Dumbledore?

Towering over Mashinka & Kat

The Foxtrots never cease to amaze.

The beautiful Shien. It was her birthday too. :)

Typical Doe: jumping, giggling and squealing like a piglet.

Thank you all for coming out! I had the best time. My heart was swimming in delight at the sight of all the magical characters trickling towards our lawn. :) It’s hard to get New Yorkers to dress up but when they do, boy they do! I really wish I got to talk to everyone more but this is not the last time we get to meet, I promise. In fact, there is talk of a Lime Crime Lipstick Launch party…

Everyone looks so beautiful, like living artwork! It looks like a big fashion show!

Where I am from everyone looks like they just rolled out of bed, so I always want to see fashion in big cities. It would be so nice to go to new york city dressed up and not have people stare as if I was a zoo animal.

  • Kat A says:

my , how splendid you all looked , and I love the idea of combining futurism with fantasy what an odd form of literature that would be…… i guess some anime has dealt with that ide but mostly in a steampunkish sort of way …certainly has potential anyway goodluck with lipstick launch

  • Martha says:

Thanks for having us, Xenia (this is Gretel btw)! I hope you love the necklace I made for you. <3
