This week we have a guest tutorial from Mishka Mink. Mishka is an Australian makeup artist with a truly phenomenal portfolio. Her technique and use of color are humbling – check it out!

INGREDIENTS

Face
Foundation Primer is a great way to start, it smooths and hydrates the skin and preps it for foundation. Apply foundation with a foundation brush for a flawless complexion. I use MAC Studio Fix in NC15. Use a concealer under the eyes to conceal any darkness, and use it anywhere else you need to conceal spots or redness. Set the base with a powder. I like to use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder in Light.

Did you know…
You can use Lime Crime eyeshadow for areas other than the eye! I gave it a go and it looked fab. I used Prima Donna as a blush and applied it high on my cheekbones.

Eyes
Apply primer to create a crease-free and smooth base for the eyeshadow. For this look I used Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. Once the primer is set, using a small flat brush pat Duchess all over the lower lid (make sure to stop at the crease). Dampen your brush with water or a mixing medium (I like to use MAC water-based mixing medium, or MAC Fix+ Spray) and pick up a little Shoe Addict and apply it to the inner half of the lid, over Duchess and stopping just before the inner corner tear duct area. Lime Crime shadows are great when used wet or dry, so experiment with this to create new looks.

With a medium sized brush apply Medusa to the outer corner of the eye and into the crease, making sure to blend it well with Shoe Addict and Duchess. This will darken the look and create depth similar to a smokey eye. I like to use a large fluffy brush for this kind of blending, like #224 from Mac.

Next, apply Duchess along the lower lash line. Apply Medusa to the outer-corner of the lower lashline, making sure to blend with Duchess to complete the smokey look.

Now, grab a clean medium sized brush and apply Mirror Mirror to the brow-bone area to create a highlight and blend it downwards towards the inner corner of the eye, around the tear-duct area. I followed the natural curve from my eyebrow to my nose to create a defined line.

The eyeshadow is done now, so apply your black liner close along the upper lash line and flick it out a little at the outer edge. Using your black kohl pencil, apply a little in the waterline. Apply 2 layers of black mascara to the top and bottom lashes, and pop on some long black falsies for a dramatic effect!

Lips
I first applied a clear gloss (one of my faves is MAC lipglass) and then I used a lip brush to pat on some Primadonna. This matched my lips up perfectly with the blush. Like I said, Lime Crime is fabulous on lips, eyes and face!
