Gimme lipstick!
Category: Inspiration

I have a confession to make: I’m madly in love. With lipstick.
In the past days, there hasn’t been a lipstick that I didn’t want to buy, own, hold close to my heart – or at least my makeup case. I never thought that a simple stick of color can make me feel so glamorous, so feminine, so confident! I’m not the only one, am I?!
This lip craze got so bad that I began dreaming up my own lipstick line. Fantasies of cool neon pinks, rich violets, and succulent reds won’t leave my mind. In addition to my ideas, I’d love to know what you think too!
Deerlings:
- What colors would you like to see Lime Crime carry?
- What textures do you prefer: matte, creamy, or sheer?
- What is the best-smelling lipstick? Is there a brand whose smell you can’t stand?

I personally love a good deep red. It’s so chic! I’m also quite a fan of the sheer look.
…you know, I’ve never thought about smells of lipstick. I will say I’m a big fan n the Revlon Colourstay smell. The only lipsticks I’ve ever smelled that were unappealing are the costume lipsticks. Ugh!
Good luck in the lipstick line! I know it’ll be brilliant because you’re doing it and you can do anything! :D

I love how MAC lipsticks smell — like chocolate! Though my favourite favourite colour was only available two Christmases ago and I haven’t been able to find any more. Poo.
As for icky smelling stuff, I find that Smashbox kind of smells like paint. Ew.

Oh YAY!!! I adore your lipsticks in the tutorial. I always want them! I’m so excited because I’m positive your ideas will be wonderful. GLEE!
I love deep reds and pinks and I’ve become quite taken with berry colors recently.
I like creamy or sheer that stays well.
I don’t ever really notice smells that much but I will stop using a lipstick if it tastes truly awful.

I love, love love Cherry reds. And I wear a LOT of neutral pinky colours. Just enough of a colour that it’s obvious you’re wearing lippy, if that makes sense.
I agree entirely about MAC lipsticks smelling good. I can’t think of any smells I hate, but a lot of REALLY cheap lipsticks have too much of a make-uppy smell, which isn’t the most kissable thing in the world.
And as for texture, I love creamy lipsticks. It’s easy to make a lipstick glossier, so there’s no point in making them really glossy, and glosses and tints are better for sheer colour. I always think of lipstick as being quite pigmented, and looking on the face as it does in the tube.
Matte is nice, but not something that generally works for everyday wear. The only time I really wear matte lipstick is a vintage matte red mouth :)

I generally prefer light pinks, peaches, corals and stuff, with creamy textures. What I would like to see would be iridescent colours – think pink or coral with purple or turquoise iridescence, something like that. As for the smell – love MAC, hate L’Oréal!

I want a lipstick company to make bold shades (true starlet red! electric fuschia!) that don’t fade (CoverGirl’s “Really Red” quickly becomes “Weakly Pink,” I hate it!). As for texture & scent, MAC rules all.

I actually love LOVE lip conditioner (MAC’s has SPF!) as apposed to lipstick. Great color that doesn’t smear everywhere or dry out your lips :]

A classic red color is so hard to find in a nice lipstick here in Wisconsin, so I’d definitely snap that up right away if it was offered.

I prefer lipstains when I want a bit of color. I hate having my lipstick get on my teeth (since I have an overbite it’s pretty unavoidable with some lipstick brands), lipstains dry and stay on all day. I love them.
I hate that terrible plastic smell you get from the cheap black lipsticks you find in Halloween supply stores. I adore a lipsticks/balms that have tingly mint in them.
A purple similar to your Lime Crime banner shade would be amazing, bright pinks and blood red would also be amazing. I prefer my reds a bit darker than most of the traditional shades. The shades should be utterly unique, something you can’t pick up at the local drugstore or even the local MAC store. :)

hmmm i would say really bold matte colours. think very high fashion stuff in unusual colours. also chique vintage or femme fatale reds would be great and I’m sure dark colours like dark blue, dark purple and of course black would sell well too. they are always hard to find!

I’m desperately looking for a sheer but creamy cotton candy pink with just a hint of light-catching shimmer to it. Airy, and not too deep in color, as I feel darker, matte colors have the tendency to make me look a bit severe for some reason. Perhaps ’cause of my fair skin?
Lancome smells good to me!!

I love matte lipstick in all kinds of crazy colors. Hot hot pink, very pale blue based pink (almost white, like a ballet slipper), purples, oranges, blues…very unusual colors should be Lime Crime’s domain!
I love lipsticks in all shades of the rainbow <3

I’m actually just getting into lipstick. Since I started wearing makeup (all of five years ago!), I’ve focused on eyes and never paid much attention to lip color. Now that I’m more focused on being fabulous and the makeup it entails, I’m trying to figure out what I like.
I’m finding that I’m attracted to hot pinks right now, although that’s not really practical for all the time or for other makeup palettes. So I’ll have to do some experimenting.
But every time you do a tutorial where you’ve mixed your own shade, I love it! The violet shades are my favorites. I can’t wait to see them in the Lime Crime collection!

An awesome red-red-red that will go with my skin color (see my picture on my about page for reference). Dark purple. Sparkley hot pink.
Matte and creamy. Even though I wear more glosses and liquid lipsticks more than actual lipstick in a tube. I LOVE color.

I am a fan of different reds and berry colors. And like Jami, I also prefer darker reds. I usually only wear the lasting lipsticks like MAC Pro-Long Wear….and on those 10 hours lipsticks my pet peeve is when they are sticky (like Rimmel). And I think it is Cover Girl that has a lipstick that smells like vodka to me. Which would usually be good, but not for a lipstick. LOL
I hope to see you bringing out lipsticks! I love your eyeshadows…I wear them more than any of my others!

Ah I love Lancome and MAC lipsticks!
I use to love, I mean seriously LOVE, the texture and feel of those old CoverGirl Liquid Diamond lipSTICKS.
But, I would have to say, my weakness these days is Crushed Rose by Lancome and Lavender Whip by MAC.
Come out with a gorgeous light lilac that isn’t too outrageous for your lips OR come our with a lovely rosey colour (like a brownish, pinky, crimsony colour) and you have me!
You know what too? I really want to get a decent good RED lipstick. But I can’t ever find one that matches my skintone or that I truly like.
Right now the only two things in RED I use are: Ladybug from MAC lipstick…and Venitian Lustreglass by MAC.
Oh, something in pale blue would be great, matte of course. I have an awesome lipglass from MAC called Blue Memory that I lovvvvvve.
Another one of my favourites is Fresh Brew by MAC. It’s matte.
I hope you find something useful out of my rambles.

I would love to see a green or yellow lipstick, since they are almost unheard of colors to wear on the lips. A very primary purple(think crayola 8 pack crayons) matte lipstick would be nice as well.
For more of everyday colors, I would love to see Bright almost fuchsia reds, deep almost black reds, and very berry colors without the frost.
as for scent I love the smell of the MAC lipsticks, but I feel they are a little bit too strong!

Colors I’d like to see: Oranges, Reds, Barbie pinks, bright purples.
Good Smells: Chocolate, Orange, Strawberry, Passion Fruit.
Bad Smells: Flowery.
Overdone Smells: Cake Batter, Vanilla.
I have an Estée Lauder lip stick that I LOVE the color of, but I can’t bring myself to use it because it has a weird flowery-like scent that is really off putting to put on my mouth.

I’m needing a good blue-based red that compliments my skin tone (i.e PALE) and a soft candy pink that isn’t too bright. Cream, too. shimmer looks cheap to me.
Urban Decay smells kinda nice to me. as does l’Oreal. (sorry Padmita)
Also, don’t do coral. IMO it doesn’t suit many people.

Whoops! Forgot to mention types of lipsticks!
I’d love to see mostly mattes and satins, sheer colors are boring, but if they are buildable, then it would be fine.
I just think mattes and satin colors are more vibrant and pop more, and can easily become sheer with the addition of a clear gloss that can be sold separately.

I would totally wear some bright pinks, and some deep reds, but most importantly, a TRUE red. I mean, a moist, lipsmackingly vibrant red. I’m not sure I could rock an orange-y hue or anything, but a violet or plum would be something I would consider. It all depends. As for smells, I’m not too particular, but I absolutely can’t stand a lipstick that gets cakey, dries, and then seems to “flake” off. Or ones that cling to the edges of your lips, but wear off within an hour in the center so you look like you have some ridiculous type of lipliner on.
The problem I have with lipstick is that it dries my lips out sooo much! I’m putting a layer of chapstick on, and then blending a little lipstick in for color. It totally kills the idea of drastic color!

I’ll agree with everybody else and say adeep, blood red color in matte or creamy. Also a deep rose in matte, or with gold sparkles would look awesome. I’d really like some CRAZY colors (blue, green, orange…), too.
I really like the scent of Avon’s 24K gold lipstick; it’s kind of a fruity/floral smell. My mom hates it, though, so it might not be for everybody.

I’ve recently begun to get adverse reactions to wearing certain types of lip glosses and lipsticks. My lips will become chapped for an entire week and get tiny little bumps on them before they start to feel better after I’ve worn a lip balm or lip gloss. I’d love a line that is as friendly to my lip’s skin as possible!

Vibrant pinks, peach, berries, and pale pinks get my vote. As far as smell goes…sugary and candy like. My complexion is vampire pale so it’s hard for me to find shades that are vibrant and won’t make it look like I’m auditioning for Cirque du Soliel (Though that’s not too much of a bad thing, there’s a time and place. I keep my day makeup pretty simple.) Creamy or sheer lipsticks I find glide better and are less tacky than matte.
I am so excited for a lipstick line! Do you think there will ever be a lip gloss line as well?

I’d love to see some lipglass and some tints, I have very pink lips naturally so I don’t need much lipstick. But I hate thick goopy lipglosses.
And it’s so hard to find lipsticks that look good on me, I’m porcelian skinned and can’t find a lip shade that doesn’t make me look like a hooker. :P

A nice bright red that has just enough purple in it not to look orange against darker skin. I’m Mexican, so my bronze skin turns reds orange and pink to sticky bubblegum shades. Darker colors that are sheer enough to not scream GOTH NIGHT! are a good bet for minorities.

Also, I actually really like the smell of Loreal lipsticks and MAC.

I won’t wear lipstick because it’s so hard to find the right shade for me. I have experimented with a few and love dark crimson reds and chocolate browns. I also love shimmery and light shades. I would love it if you had both lip stick and lip gloss. I have almost all of your magic dusts and am working on getting as many glitters as I can. If you come out with lipstick I would definitely buy some. Smell….I don’t mind it so much just as long as it smells inviting. Mahalo!

For me, it feels a bit odd when lipstick/gloss starts smelling like food. So any light scent would be nice… nothing too heavy. I’m fond of the light cherry taste.
As far as colors go, I REALLY need a slightly dark pink which makes the lip color a bit darker pink but not too much people can easily tell it’s lipstick/gloss. Otherwise, I like the berry colors and coral. I’ve dreamed of a beautiful violet one though.
I’m so glad you decided to do a lipstick line.. although I could’ve sworn you announced that already. ;) Looking forward to your lipstick line!

I would like the perfect red. You know, not too burgundy and not too orange either. A true red. An amazing Robert Smith red.
Also, a beautiful violet. A violet that has never been seen in a lipstick before. A violet that looks like it shouldn’t be seen on lips.
CREAMY. MAC’s matte lipsticks have made me hate matte forever. So actually, if you can make a matte lipstick that isn’t as intolerable as MAC’s (ie: easy to put on, not difficult to spread, doesn’t stain as easily), I would owe you my first born child.

I’d also love to see your line expand into other makeup. Maybe Solid shadows, eye liners, etc.
This is probably my favorite lip product at the moment. Burt’s Bees lip gloss in zesty red.

I too am a devoted lipstick fan. I’m a personal fan of matte shades. I don’t think lipstick and glitter can mesh well. Then again, I usually have more natural/vintage makeup styles.
I love reds (who doesn’t) and pinky-nudes the most.
It’d be so amazing if you made a line! Then again, I’m not sure you’d cater to the more natural makeup wearers. I know you like bright colors, but maybe in the lipstick area there could be a few more toned down colors? :)

Estee Lauder lipsticks smell gorgeous: like berries, almost.
I like lip stains, and colour stays. Glossy or matte, it doesn’t matter as long as the colour’s good and I don’t have to reapply! Though I hate pearly and frosted tones. (I like dark berry shades. Gothy, but not black, of course!)
Actually, I mix a tiny bit of LC Crystal Ball powder with a pink-toned gloss I have, and it gives the lovliest blue sheen when the light hits it! I think I’m using it more on my lips than my eyelids now!

I like deep and bright red… and I’d like a very dark red too! – Actually, I can only think of red ’cause I only use red lipstick.

I’d want to see a vibrant red with like a gold frost to it. (For those of us who have an issue with patting eyeshadow on our lips. :[ )
And I’ve always wanted to try a really nude lip where it’s practically like having foundation on your lips, except glossier/shinier.
I think creamy texture is good with a soft gloss to it. And you should definitely include frosted ones!
I think you should try some interesting color combination with frosted colors like a red with pink shimmer or some iridescent colors. Oh, and metallics!
I don’t actually care much for smell as long as it’s not TOO strong or obnoxious because usually what ends up happening is my hair smells like something, my skin smells like something, my clothes smell like something, and soon I smell overwhelming and it’s horrible!
No-fragrance is okay too.

As far as Drugstore lines Revlon’s Moon Drops Lipstick has great Color Pay-off but the smell is terrible. Your Lipstick Smell could be signature like MAC’s so whatever fruit or scent you think best represents your line?
As for colors personally my tastes run to nudes, corals and reds. I would like a sturdy lipstick that layers well. I think that long-wear lipsticks are useful but I prefer lipsticks that don’t claim that staying power. Touch ups aren’t a hassle to me, rather they are a nice chance for me to excuse my self and process while doing re-touching my face.

I’ve recently discovered my intense love for lipstick :D NYX had a sale recently and I bought a lot of thirty of their lipsticks hahah. Not all of them worked for me, but they had quite a few gorgeous reds so I’m pretty happy. :P I don’t care too much about texture usually, but my eyes are always drawn towards mattes. My lips are pretty pigmented naturally, so sheers don’t work too well on me. I’m now on the lookout for the perfect nude lipstick!
As for smells, I generally don’t like things that smell like food. I mean, I do like the smells themselves, I just don’t like it when I put something on my lips (or hair or body or anything, actually) and it smells delicious and tastes…not good. hahahaha. My friend’s signature body lotion smells like apples and whenever I hang out with her I get cravings.

All lipstick “stinks” to me unless you put some kind of berry-smellin’ gloss over it.

I love lipstick, too!
Personally, I would love to see unusual colors in Lime Crime. You know, shades of green, blue, yellow, etc. Reds and pinks and purples are always great, but I feel like there are enough of those out there to choose from. I always have a hard time finding good quality unusual colors for makeup, and that’s part of the reason why I love Lime Crime’s eyeshadows. They’re colors that M.A.C. doesn’t even have.
I’m not a big fan of sheer, but creamy and matte are both good to me. I feel like it’s not worth it to wear a sheer color when I can just wear a bright, opaque, bold color.
I really love the smell of Loreal and M.A.C. lipstick, I don’t know why. They just have this rich smell that other brands don’t have. I can’t think any that are too terrible, except generic halloween makeup.

I definitely prefer Matte or Creamy Textured lipsticks that are pretty opaque. I’m personally not a fan of sheer lip color. I’ve been really obsessed with lilac and lavender lipsticks and there not easy to find so I’d definitely like to see those. Red’s and Pinks are also a given. I would really like to see a nice baby pink because I’ve looked everywhere and I honestly cannot find one.

I prefer matte myself. I would LOVE if you could make a color like OPI’s Nice Color Eh?, which is super versatile (I can put on one layer with some gloss over it and it just looks like slightly darker lips, or layer it up and it looks great, it stays ages) – it’s, to the best of my describing abilities, sort of a dark pinkish-berry sort of color. I dunno what I’m going to do when my tube runs out. :( A pink like the color you’re fond of in photoshoots would be great too.

I LOVE sheer reds and deep pinks. I also love matte light pinks (I know it sounds strange, but it gives this amazing sort of Barbie look in the best way).
Also, a sort of sheer gold would be great, or a pink with gold shimmer.
Berry pinks are the best, especially sheer. A purple-based pink would be lovely.
Also, I think you should have some matte fantasy colors: true blue, royal purple, coral, orange.
I don’t care too much about the smell, just as long as it goes on smooth. Nothing worse than overly waxy lipsticks.
Quite excited to see them come out!

I would love to see a variety of reds in your line. As I have the hardest time getting the right red and I have to visit almost every counter just to find what I’m looking for because each line has about 3 shades of red at the most. So many mauves, browns and purples. The vibrants too! :)
The best smell, I love victoria’s Secret lip glosses out right now, I can eat them, as there are so many different flavors of smell.

I love bold lips. Bright and dark, as long as its not pale or pastel. I love hot pink, deep burgandy, anything that makes a statement. Some sparkle is nice, but shine is important to me. Matte drys out my lips, and usually I am too lazy to put gloss ontop, although I think a matte is a great look. Lipglosses would be great too.
I love the smell of Mac lipsticks.

I love 50s pinup red with creamy texture. The one that’s red with a hint of orange but not too much. Other colours that I would like to see for Lime Crime are hot pink, purple with pink sheen, orange and peachy pink.
Creamy lipsticks are the best. They are the most flattering type for most people.
I hate the smell of L’Oreal lipsticks. They smell waxy. Also Rimmel lippies’ smell is one the horrid side. I love the smell of Fyrinnae lippies.

I ould pay a million dollars for a good COOL pink lipstick! Anything with a vanillay or chocolatey smell is lovely! The fruity smells I really don’t like (save that for chapstick!)
I definitely like creamy lipsticks, sheers I don’t even bother with (unless it’s a nice red when I’m not feeling fantastically bold) because my lips are already very pigmented! Mattes are pretty too but I always end up putting gloss on them.

A nice 1920s red without being too goth. A sheer plum color, and maybe a nice matte rose color. I loove the smell of mac lipstick… I generally prefer strong colors so I can stain my lips with them and layer them easily. I hate glitter in lipstick though, I might add it myself later but there’s nothing worse than a lipstick that the only thing that lasts is some ugly color of lipstick. I have been looking for a nice glossy plum color but they are all either too strong and make me look goth or they have glitter and no pigmentation grr…

That would be so awesome! I really like your make-up and I think bright colored lipsticks would fit in it best, no nudes (ugh). I personally really like neon pink, hard pink, all reds (maybe also a cherry red). I like them to shine a little bit, more of a gloss. But maybe you could make them mat and also sell a gloss with it?

Deep blue-based reds in matte! You can always add gloss to a matte if that’s the look you are going for. :)
As far as nice smells, my FAVORITE is Sephora brand. I have a glittery brown sugar color from them that smells incredible. I also agree that MAC and Rimmel are quite nice, too! The only lipstick I can think of where the smell really bothered me was one I had from Anna Sui. It smelled like roses, which wasn’t bad in itself, but having a perfume-y smell on my lips to smell all day was not appealing…

Classic reds, it’d be nice if you did blue based and orange based, then told people which would best suit their skin tone.
I generally prefer matte lipsticks, but I usually add gloss to them, which I find gives me a smoother finish than a creamier lipstick. Too Faced do a beautifully scented range, their lipsticks have champagne in them and they’re just lovely.
My favourite red though, is the same brand that my mom used to use when I was little. It’s cheap, but it works, stays on well, and it just… smells like makeup ought to. Mainly I think I’m just very nostalgic :) xx

I have rather yellowish teeth. Most of those beautiful bright red lipsticks make them look even more yellow – that’s why I don’t wear them. So I’d really appreciate a bright red with a blue touch which would neutralize that effect a bit. Then I’d even order from abroad! :)

My favorites are lipsticks with iridescent pearl… I’d love to see a bright coral lipstick with magenta shimmer, kind of like MAC’s Big Bow except MORE pigmented and shimmery. I’d also like to see a bright cherry red with violet shimmer, or pink with green/turquoise.
I’ve been in search of the perfect blackened red matte lipstick for years.
Oh, and I’d love to see a true BLACK gloss, or maybe one with some copper shimmer added. There’s also a serious shortage of lavenders and violets.

Lipstick!! Fabulous— it’s the one little thing ladies can do to brighten up their face without surgery! I recently heard that even during the Great Depression (no, I wasn’t there) lipstick sales soared.
In this lousy economy, “they” say it’s still true. I like a gloss with some tint in it. Maybelline had one called “Wet Shine Fusion” that’s hard to find now. I just posted a new ‘Lipstick’ design on my cafepress store that says “They might take my job, but they won’t get my lipstick.” http://www.cafepress.com/SharonAlama/6601610

* What colors would you like to see Lime Crime carry?
The most vibrant ones! Hot red, neon pink, glamuros peach, and an everyday collection. I’d love some ‘nude’ colors as well, powder color, light brown and drak brown.
* What textures do you prefer: matte, creamy, or sheer?
I love them all! Creamy because they feel the bess, matte because they look the best and sheer for everyday use.
* What is the best-smelling lipstick? Is there a brand whose smell you can’t stand?
I love fresh smells (fruity) smells, but I don’t like mint smelling lipsticks because after some time (like a coupple of weeks of usage) they start to STINK! I also like the ‘candy like’ smells but not directly like a candy, but more of a really delicate scent and the caramel scent. But every scent could work if it’s not too strong!
YAY for the lipstick line! YAY!

Because I have thin lips, I prefer lighter shades that reflect the light. Dusty pinks, pearly nudes, that kind of thing.
I’d like to experiment with new colours though – maybe light orange or violet?
No reds for me though! I end up looking like I have a snake mouth!
As for smell/texture, I love the way Chanel lipstick smells and hate anything that smells too make-uppy. Texture for me is perfect when matte and the colour should be bold and last all day.

I think that the nicest thing to see would be at least a few reds. I know that you wear the MAC Morange, and also that that color looks awful on me. I really need a color with a blue-ish undertone. So I think it would be nice if you catered to both warm and cool skin tones (at least in regard to the perfect red color.)
The lip stain idea would be PHENOMENAL. I can just see all of the wonderful colors you would come up with already.
The best smelling lipstick, in my opinion…would be Maybelline or MAC.

Also, I’d just like to see some bright colors in general. Hot Pinks, greens purples.
My favorite lipstick is Tenderheart by clinique. Its the same shade as my lipcolor, and with a mix of crystall ball and Urban Decay Lip gloss, I get a rosy pink with sheer blue. What I love though, are lip glosses. Especially ones with a bit of a mint tingle to them. They are wonderful on my lips!

I have not yet seen a lipstick with a bright yellow undertone to it.
Maybe limecrime can CREATE something like a lipsick that has 2 sides of shades, for ex: one side bright orange and the other bright red, or pink….
or same color with two textures for ex: one side creamy and the other side matte…

Would you consider making your lipstick vegan friendly? As a fashion loving vegan it is almost impossible to find great lipstick colors and the few brands that make them leave a lot to be desired.
Most lipsticks contain the ingredient carmine (check out your favourite, it probably does!) which is made from crushed up beetles! yuck! I think if more people knew this they would think twice before putting that on their lips!
Anyway, something for you to consider. I think it would be a unique selling point. There is an incresing amount of young, fashion-concious women choosing veganism who have trouble finding great cosmetics and who would really love a great brand like yours to support.

on the positive side, i am addicted to lipstains that don’t wear out (like the new lipstain pens by CoverGirl; they’re PERFECT!) :)

Blood red, vampy purples, glossy blacks, plastic-y blues, metallic silvers, bubble gum pinks etc. I prefer mattes, metallics, and glossy shades….not a fan of sheers at all. I like the smell of Mac..kind of vanilla-like. Maybe u could have the lipsticks scented differently depending on the shades…..red-cherry, black-licorice, blue-blue raspberry, purple-grape-dark brown-mocha, etc. Lipstick with glitter in it would be cool, too. Can’t w8 2 try ur l/s line…when can we expect it to come out?

I think you should keep the lipsticks like you keep all the other limecrime products: not afraid of COLOR. :) I’d like to see bright reds, purples, pinks, in matte or creamy consistencies. THere are too many sheer lipsticks out there already.. ~yawn~ I dont know about lipsticks that I dont like but ones that I do like are Chanel’s line. They are long-lasting and have tons of color. I love the consistency of them and the way they feel.

I agree about having bright colors. I like matte, creamy and sometimes sheer. I can’t stand when lipsticks have glitter in them though. In theory, it seems like a good idea, but they always look and feel so dry.
I love Urban Decay’s lipsticks. Their color range and staying power and great. The only down side is that I HATE the way they taste. They’re supposed to have a caramel flavor, but they taste horrible. I drink my coffee before I put on my lipstick just to avoid tasting it while I’m having my breakfast.

OOH!! I love blue lipstick, although mine has generally been home made by using GOSH eyeliner (stays in place for hours: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn196/aurora_stardust/100_3431.jpg.) A really deep space-y blue would be gorgeous. Matte finishes are my preferred type but for blues I think a more shimmery finish could look really cool! Anyway, best of luck with this Doe, I’m sure it will be awesome!

Ooh – a gorgeous true purple that doesn’t go all fuschia or red or berry but stays real regal purple. And a strong true orange – not pinky coral, not red coral, but orange. I have been searching and searching for years for these colors – Mac, Shu, Max Factor, UD, all the dept store lines fail miserably. I’d love to buy these tones from you! Creme finish, fully opaque, lush. And only faint vanilla or peppermint scent, please – no florals like Chanel or Lancome – blech!

ooh lipsticks! my obsession!
A red that doesnt bleeeeeeeed! oh please!
A black that has good pigment and is glossy.
id love to see the perfect purple – not pink, but not blue enough to make you look hypothermic, although that look is in right now..Stargazer has that look covered lol.
Im always on the hunt for the perfect shimmery neutral..i have dozens of different versions.
As for smell..some i truely hate, as theyre over powering. I like Benefit and MAC scents..aswell as mabellines. Vanillery types are the nicest i think.

Personally, I’m a sucker for gorgeous deep reds and coral to a few shades off natural pinks. It’s either go BOLD or be subtle yet sexy. =]
And in creamy formulas. Sheer is alright, but lets face it. Women get lipstick to make their lips different, not get a veil that changes nothing, right?
Oh, and for scents of lipsticks… I adore MAC lipsticks. It’s a very light vanilla, very understated. Ahhhh, bliss.

Right now I’m going through a huge matte lipstick phase so this is a little bit of a biased comment… But yes. Mattes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE a good red as well as the more violet-pinks. I’m not a big fan of sheers. I actually haven’t come across a nasty tasting/smelling lipstick yet… Ah! i’m so excited for even more LC makeup.

I would love some ridiculous shades such as ice blue and silver, as well as sheer ones… And if you are going to put any sort of smell/flavoring into it, mint is the best. almost everyone likes mint, and I’ve heard it’s good for your lips, so…

I love sheer lipstick, in pinks and reds. I hate when lipstick feels tacky, and my hair catches it with a good breeze, or one straw sip and your lips are naked! In addition, old brands, and yet still some newer brands, have a very gross oily-like smell to them. I suppose from the fats they put in the lipstick. I had one lipstick from L’oreal that smelled like lemonade, I really enjoyed that. Really, any smell is nice when it comes to lipstick as it usually doesn’t smell like anything (or anything good).

I would love for you to spring up with a pretty looks-like-my-lips-but-better color.
Like a warm pinkish lip colored lipstick.
Creamy…and maybe like a fruity smell or a vanilla smell…
If it were to be anything like Mac’s Tinted Lip Balm SPF 15 in the pot, I would die for it!

I would love to see some bright pinks, purples, oranges, reds with some inderdesent glitter that is not to gritty. Something bold, just like the Eyeshadows.
Lavender Whip, and Snow Orchid by MAC are my favorites in my collection right now. I also have a one from the Fafi collection called High Top and has hints of greenish glitters and it’s purple.
I prefer something on my lips with some condintioner. I really only use MAC and a few Estee Lauder lipsticks. I belive that most of them are Matte or Cream.
I think this a great idea! I would love to have some Lime Crime lipsticks. Good luck!

I’ve been looking for a rich, perfect pin-up girl red that doesn’t end up looking cheap or slightly off like I’ve found with the other reds I’ve tried. I’ve never had any luck with that!!
Also, I’ve read that in the 1920s, women began to use shades of orange. I’d love to find a 1920s-esque orange, not quite so neon.

Blue reds! not orangey reds, blue! Hot pinks, soft pinks, electric blues, deep burgandy’s. I love creamy textures.

i like mac’s lustre lipsticks cuz the texture of it is like a balm but the look of it is like a lipgloss. also i like the amplify cremes cuz of the color pay off.

Well, purples are obviously a very popular suggestion here! I also like the idea of the blues, yellow, orange (I’m in the market for an orange right now), neon green, and glossy black. I’d like to see you end up with lots of brights that are not easily found elsewhere, one or two classic reds, and hopefully a good nude and a classic pink.
I’m much more into lipgloss than lipstick myself, so I am REEEEALLY hoping you’ll venture into that arena as well!! Lipgloss is something I simply can’t get enough of…I always want more. When I do wear lipstick (because sometimes you need more opacity), it’s usually Rose Essentiel (the perfect light pink) by Bourjois or a peachy-nude by Revlon with gloss over top. I only wear red occasionally, not because I’m afraid of it, but because my eyes are usually SO bright and done up that I don’t want to make my big lips compete with it. I’m much more experimental with bright glosses since they’re shinier and more sheer.
I’d love a really good lipstick (and gloss) that is all-natural and paraben-free! That is not so easy to find at a good price. So many people these days are purposely seeking out makeup that is paraben-free (and cruelty-free, of course). There is a lot of buzz going on right now about safety and toxicity of cosmetics, and it’s scary to think (when I consider how much makeup I go through) that much of it could actually be dangerous, and I am much more conscious now of ingredients and want to know it’s safe, especially if it’s going on my mouth. I also have issues with certain lip products where I guess I’m allergic to an ingredient, but I have never been able to narrow down what it is. I never know until I try one. I get a reaction where my lips get really red and swollen and start to peel really bad and itch…since I already have large lips, it’s not good news! So I am definitely not into any of the products with ingredients like peppermint oil, which smell good and have that nice tingly feeling but can be very irritating to skin.
I echo the one poster’s idea of the really bold, bright lipstick colors with “built-in” iridescence. I tend to prefer a creamy texture. And if a lipstick has tons of mega sparkle and glitter, I simply can’t say no to it. You won’t find me in matte lipstick unless I have layered it with tons of shiny gloss…this is partly because I can’t stand any type of dry feeling on my lips and because I think it looks strange when there is no shine. I think I used to like the smell of L’Oreal lipstick. But sometimes I don’t want my lip stuff to have a smell or taste, especially not plastic-y or oily. Unless it’s lemon. I don’t know if lemon-scented lipstick would be weird or not, but it would make me wanna buy one in every color!! (Though lemon oil itself is irritating.) I also like Benefit’s apricot-lychee scented glosses and the smell of fennel and orange. Fruit and candy scents are usually good as long as they’re not way strong. I’m more concerned about the taste than the smell.
All in all, this is very exciting, and I can’t wait to see what you come out with!!

All shades of purple with LOTS of shimmer. A creamy formula. Bold and True!
A good deep red that is not orangy or pinkish.
Just a deep true or blue red. NOT burgundy or brownish.
Purply or blue pinks, Bluish lavenders!
Citrus scents I dont like but vanilla and strawberry scents are awesome!

Ooh, I’m so excited to think you would make a color line! For me, I personally prefer creamy or matte formulas (cream moreso, because they are moisturizing); I really, REALLY hate sparkle or frosty lip clolors, because they accentuate dryness. However, what I don’t have in shimmer, I like to compensate with bright, vivid, lipsticks (my favorite color, all time, is Chanel’s Lazer Pink, a limited edition matte neon HOT PINK!). Also I think some sheer variations or even (gasp!) nude colors would be nice, when someone wants to have focus on the eyes and not the lips! Also I could imagine you coming out with some funky lipsticks colors, like violet or orange.

Oh, and I forgot to add, for the smell… hmm, well it’s not a lipstick, but the bodyshop has the BEST smelling lipgloss EVER. When I bought one I just kept smelling it over and over again, it’s like a sweet, fruity passionfruit scent. I hate lemon and certain fake vanilla scents, and I’d actually prefer a lipstick with no smell or taste.

I think that there should definitely be a Hot Pink lipstick, a bright orange, and a chili pepper red. For such bright colours I think that a Matte texture would be appropriate and that they should smell like muffins! :)

If you could make a wearable, highly pigmented cool toned purple lipstick, I’d most likely buy it. Matte or creamy finish work just fine, as long as it wears well (meaning it lasts at least moderately well and isn’t so moist that it smudges all over the place or settles into the lines of the lips).

I would love to see a full coverage, matte or creamy true peach lipstick. Really, any peachy shade with no brown or red undertones would be fantastic, whether it leans to pink or orange, as I’ve had to mix my own for ages but am still looking for that go-to peach lippy.

I saw a ‘done up’ Blythe doll on eBay yesterday. The artist had put blue on her lips, but it wasn’t a cold blue either. It looked pretty awesome and I wouldn’t mind giving it a try.
Other than that it’s pretty much the reds, pinks, violets, corals, etc. Definitely bright oranges and such.
In terms of smells, E. Funkhouser New York’s range smells AH-MAY-ZING.
No joke. When you put it on you want to eat it. It’s a mix of apricots and peaches etc.
Hope that helps!
Love your work.

Lime crime should have a black gloss as a mainstay of the line. Perhaps different black glosses, one that is glass like, and one that has sparklies.
Years ago Kiehl’s had a lipstick line with great color density, but they have discontinued them :(. They had this thick creamy color pot called their lip color cremes that was amazing – and I haven’t found anything like it since.

I realise I’m epically late here, but I’d love to see really outlandish hard to find colours in your lipstick range. I also think giving them a creamy texture would be brilliant, as that seems to be a major problem when trying to find unusual colours – most are dry and cakey.
Bright orange, vivid purple, lavender, deepest black, and a gorgeous vintage blood red. There are so many crazy bright pinks out there at the moment, so sticking to harder to find colours would be awesome.

MAC makes the best-smelling lipstick, hands down. I just love to put it on, it’s so delicious. My boyfriend says it smells of freshly-baked cookies, if that makes sense. *giggle*

and i know you love stage and performer makeup so PLEASE do make super high fashion colors. like the banshee glitter? but a creamy version of that color…it gives me the shivers if i think about it.

there’s a loose powder company called da vinci that are sort of the same as lime crime but more subdued colours. I don’t know how popular the company is in the US, but they have stalls in shopping centres here. anyway, they have a pink powder with a gold shimmer that looks gorgeous on lips, so I would love a lipstick that mimicks that, but bolder, since with da vinci your have to use a lot of powder to make colour solid.
a bright orange matte lipstick (that smells like orange? haha) would be nice. :) because despite looking for one everywhere, and finding a few that looked great but didn’t last, or looked different on, or ended up being sheer, I still really want to find a good orange. somewhere.
as for smells, I use MAC’s lady danger a lot and occasionally open it just for the smell. it’s lovely.
also, for colours: blue, like warm, tasty blue that’s dark and sort of like a more aqua version of blueberries, maybe as a cream or matte lipstick. a sweet baby pink that’s creamy and smells like candy would be nice for day use too :) haha, sorry, I’m sort of quoting a wishlist.

lately I’ve been feeling that way about nail polish. probably because i can never find a lipstick that is the colour i want and i spend a lot of time mixing colours on my lips as if painting on canvas.
I want to see BLOOD RED. I’m not trying to be morbid i just love the colour of blood coming fresh out of a wound. It seems to belong on lips for a dramatic look. I want it to show deep but bright on even pale lips. Also RUST RED. I want a dramatic deep shade that is neither purple nor brown but a dark rusty red.
I so long for these shades please consider them. Coral shades are nice too and i think i prefer creamy but it doesn’t matter really, just the colour.
