I won a toy unicorn at the Trick-A-Jester stand. For $5, they will guess your age (+/- 2 years), weight (+/- 5 pounds) or month of birth (+/- 2 months). The jester, of course, failed to guess my age correctly – thus the unicorn. The hilarity is, he overshot it by 5 years – possibly due to a mature-looking pashmina I was sporting. Ha!
I was clearly on a roll, so I turned to the slots. I gambled wildly on this thing called Angels & Devils, and roped in a 108% gain! Of course, I only bet 1 dollar so I ended up with a $2.08 voucher. The cashier kept a straight face as he issued the money.

A lot of people enjoy gambling and come to Vegas specifically for this purpose. Some even get hooked (“gamble responsibly… and compulsively!”). To me, gambling is just a sure-fire way to fritter away 20 bucks. Speaking of losing money – even if you are not into playing black jack, there are plenty of opportunities to do so in Vegas. Numerous methods are employed to push you one step closer to bankruptcy, from dishes a-la carte at restaurants (pay $22 for chicken, and if you want rice to go with it, it’ll be another $12 please) to selling you stuff that doesn’t work how you think it does. Mark and I got this cute toy that, according to promotional video, was supposed to magically run around your fingers. Upon opening the package, we discovered it had a piece of cheap thread attached to it!! And yesterday, we got trickfucked into paying $32 to ‘upgrade’ to front-row seating in a theater that turned out to be the size of a living room. Haha! It’s ok though – we got them back by sneaking dessert out of a buffet.
Glee! The unicorn was totally worth $5!

Haha they sell those toys at my old job! Magic Wigglees! They’re cute, if you practice alot and try to impress little kids with them.. otherwise they’re kind of lame. :( But your unicorn is cute!

I remember those fuzzy toys too, funnily enough a couple of days ago my hubby & I were talking about toys from our childhood that looked wicked in the package, promo vid at the toystore or in the TV ad but failed to come up to scratch in real life. The magic wigglee worm definitely falls into this category, the promo vid made it look like the best thing ever but when I got it home & realized that it was a heck of a lot harder than it looked to make it snake around the fingers I soon tired of it!

Awww, what a cute unicorn!! When I was there the last time I was too young for gambling (19), so the only thing I won was a toy wolf (:
We had that “guess your age” thing at one of the carnivals this summer, and I chose a picture of a unicorn that I ended up giving to my niece (who, being only two, wasn’t the least bit interested, but it hangs in her room nonetheless.)

You sound like my kind of girl – once I went to the casino and the light started going off like I hit the jackpot.. I won alright – 500 NICKELS… I went crazy.. jumping up and down.. I caused this huge scene.. then later I realized I only won $25. hahaha
So you pay $5 and if they guess correctly, you lose $5. If they guess incorrectly, do they give you a unicorn and your $5 back or just the unicorn?
In any case, I can’t believe he thought you were older than you are!!! Ridiculous.
