Brushes! I used the spongey things for ages, until I got some brushes for Christmas. <3 Never looked back, I find it really makes a difference!

Once you go BRUSH, you can never go back…

I can’t figure out the brush thing and the spongy tip thingies are not that gentle on my eyes so I use my fingers. That’s probably the reason my make-up looks so crappy.

I use my fingers too, the brushes and the spongy things just won’t work for me. Fingers… not so bad.

    Honey Reply:

Yay! At least I’m not alone in my fingerpainting ventures lol.

I really need to invest in some good brushes, I bought a kit at the 99 cent store but they’re all sponge tip applicators and one brush!

I WISH I had brushes! I simply don’t have the money to buy all the nice makeup brushes )’8 I usually use a spongetip applicator simply to put the powder on, but then use fingers/med-quality brushes to do all my blending. But I would consider myself intermediate-pro in makeup, I don’t wear any less than 5 shades of eyeshadow a day…not to mention my eyeliner, white liner, mascara…I’m an eyeliner junkie.

I use brushes and sometimes my fingers too. I consider myself intermediate – there’s still so much I can learn!

I use brushes & love it! I consider myself semi-intermediate, lol. I feel I’ve a long way to go in learning. :)

I use brushes because there’s so much they can do for you! but sometimes nothing beats the finger tips for a good, quick, precise smudge.
I think I’m somewhere between intermediate and pro. I’m only lacking proficient skills in departments like blush and contouring and lip lining/plying with lip shapes. I’m definitely a pro with eye makeup and face base (concealers and foundations on myself and others). I definitely learned a lot about eye makeup from you though!

I use brushes, though at the moment I only own 2, 1 of which is pretty crappy… I’m definitely looking into getting quality ones, I’m eyeing this special pack at MAC eheheh…

I am also addicted to shoes, mainly heels! I am on a mission though now to start wearing them all.

I have a set of white & electric blue vegan makeup brushes that I bought from The Brush Company.

    They’re friggin awesome!

  • Sarah says:

I voted for sponge-tip applicators, but I really use a combination of those and brushes. I apply most of my eyeshadow with the sponge and then soften the edges with brushes.

  • Casey says:

I wish there was an “all of the above” option for the applying make-up bit. I tend to use my fingers and brushes a lot, and every now and then I’ll use a sponge applicator.

  • Jenny says:

I couldn’t pick two!! I use both brushes and my fingers. Depends. Sometimes I rip the cotton off q-tips and use the stick with just a little cotton (works great under the eye and in the creases).

  • Kristen says:

I have a huge brush collection and I use them for everything!

  • Stella says:

bought MAC’s 217 brush for blending but have since used it for everything!! works really well with the lime crime dusts! I am a real newbie at this!

For solid eye shadows, I tend to like using my fingers alot more though.

How do you ladies match your eye shadow to the colour of what you wear? I’m still figuring that out!

By the way Doe, is this post a hint of new surprises to come? Do tell ! :)
