One of my favorite flowers is hydrangea – I especially adore the lilac/purple kind with greenish inflections! The combination is just so springy and cheerful, I can’t resist looking! Immediately it makes me think of makeup – and although blues and purples are generally reserved for the eyes, this spring/summer they migrate to the lips.
MUA Tori created a look that shows how you can get away with lavender and turquoise lipstick without looking overdone. Apply light concealer and foundation to face, and add a touch of natural blush. Keep the eyes light – shimmery peaches, bronzes, or a touch of silver will do the job (try Magic Dust in Cleopatra) . If you’re feeling adventurous, dab some of Circus Girl (on sale till June 7!) just onto inner corner of the eye. Play around with plum or gray liner – a great, subtle way to accentuate the waterline. Top off with black mascara.
Lips are the focus of this look. Apply D’Lilac (lavender) or No She Didn’t (sky blue) lipstick directly from the tube. Voila!

Deerlings: would you wear this look?

I think I would wear the Lilac look. It’s so subtle but outrageous, which is really my style. I’d probably pair it with a plain dress with lilac details, ex: a bow on the back of my head, a belt, ect.
What a fun idea :] I love the eye make-up too, I might try that today.

i would the lilac one too!
I’ve been wearing my Airborne Unicorn straight from the tube this summer already!
And those flowers are so pretty!!!
yes, I definitely would! I like the idea of a bow in the hair with it…I think the colors are playful and girly, and the outfit should be that way too :)
This is so exciting! I’ve had D’Lilac for a while, and I’ve been having trouble figuring out how to coordinate it! This is such a fresh and natural yet bold look. I love it, I’m definitely going to try it out!
Would I wear the look? Hell yeah!! lol I wear both colors regularly, and I looove them. Instant confidence in a tube is what they are. Sometimes I mix the two. There is a fan photo on your FB page where someone put one on top and one on bottom, and I think that looks really good too. Also, I love hydrangeas so much that they will be in my wedding bouquet. :) I love the lipsticks even more now that I will associate them with the flowers!
Love the new site header, by the way!
Lilac definitely but I’m not sure about the blue. Not sure why I’m just not sure it would suit my complextion as well or my style. But lilac looks great! I’m definitely going to try it
I love the D’Lilac look and would love to wear it, but unfortunately I live in a small town and go to a community college where people would look at me like I’m crazy and make comments (at the least). :( Oh well, maybe for a night out or day in the city.

I say, enjoy the attention and take pride in being the only person in town cool enough to wear Lime Crime. I know I am in my area…
I adore these looks…the peach eyeshadow really allows the lips to pop!!
Thanks for the idea, I’ll have to try a more subtle version of it for myself [: However I do love the purple eyeliner on the waterline! Usually other girls I know don’t wear eyeliner like that so to me it’s a great way to stand out while not going over the top.
I still think the only person who can pull off No She Didn’t is Richie Nickel. IMHO. But both looks are well done, I’d lean more towards the lilac one.

You can also try picture-googling it – it’s probably better than any explanation I could give. :)
Wow, that lilac is so wearable for her skintone!! I didn’t even blink, it’s so adventurous and subtle at the same time. :)
Keep up the good work Doe Deere, you are awesome.
I have D’lilac! But I love to mix it with Airborne unicorn (you should try to make a lipstick between the two colors!!! – my ideia for a future collection)
And I’d love to have a No She Didn’t… but I don’t think I’m brave enough to spend 16 dolars in a lipstick that I’d probably wear just for photoshoots…
and i’m waiting for my Cleopatra eyeshadow to arrive!!!
I don’t know if I’m as adventurous as you guys but I could see this matched with all white, like a white cotton eyelet sundress, cute little white flats, d’lilac lips, heavy mascara, a cute barrette, and a pink, green or yellow clutch.
I am definitely rocking my D’lilac this summer.
I would in a split second, but I think my hair is too dark to pull off the vibrant lip colors :’(

It depends on the shade you chose. I’ve met plenty of dark-haired girls who looked great in reds, lilacs, and purples. Just check this page!

I think I can pull off the purple okay but sometimes when I wear blue I think it’s a little too crazy!
Purple and blue are my favourite colours EVER – especially combined!
So HELL yes I would wear this :]
Great reminder that I still need to get both of those lippies, Doe ;]

LOVE!
As much as I do adore “No She Didn’t”, I think I’d probably opt for the D’Lilac look. Currently though, since I don’t have either, I’ve been sporting Countessa Fluorescent a lot, and it’s so awesome. Need to break out the others I have though, give them some love. Maybe you should post something about makeup ideas for the other colors?
To be honest, I don’t think the lipsticks look good with that makeup. The rest of the makeup is warm-toned while the lipsticks are cool-toned. It doesn’t match and looks a bit odd. To each their own though.

I know exactly what you mean, but sometimes it’s fun to break that rule. I think this is one of those instances where it actually works!
not a massive fan of No She Didn’t, but I am so in love with the more pastel colours like D’lilac, Cosmopop and Great Pink Planet. I don’t own a lipstick yet, I’m waiting (crossing my fingers) until they arrive on Australia shores and I can go into a shop and try them on. And if they don’t make it to Australia I’m coming over to New York around Christmas time and I’ll just get 2 then.

Oh shoot sorry I didn’t see the part about wanting to try them on – my bad :)
Eep! I love these colours so much! I don’t own D’lilac, or any of your lipsticks actually, but I’m ordering Airborne (from Space NK because Limecrime is out of it at the moment) and No She Didn’t today! Soo exciting! I love being daring with my lippy!
xoxo
I recently ordered d’lilac and I really do love it, Doe! I have to say, too, I think it looks really cool on me – I didn’t think it would, but it just worked straight away, somehow!
I see you’re style has changed yet again hehe, I am going to miss pink and candyfuture like hell, but I generally end up loving the majority of your styles and think it’s kind of cool that you’re always reinventing yourself!

I find that D’Lilac works better on darker complexions – are you tan by any chance? And thanks, I’m looking forward to the new chapter in my style evolution, it will be awesome!
Yay I can’t wait to wear D’Lilac with a big blue tutu I just got at a thrift store bag sale!
I always feel particularly inspired creatively around this time of the year. Thanks for the extra inspiration! I think I need some gold in my life, too…
I am dying to try lilac lipstick but am really low on money–haha.
Your site looks so great now!! Much more professional!! I loved it!!

Thanks babe :)
I totally want to rock No she didn’t this winter! It’s winter in Australia at the moment. I think it’s a bit more wearable for me to pair it with minimal eye makeup. Thanks for the tip! D’lilac is like the 1 lipstick of yours that I don’t have. I need to fix that!

It’s a fun color! :)
If I tried to wear that, I’d definitely look like a corpse!
These were the first two products I bought from Lime Crime! I love wearing D’Lilac with a shimmery white shadow and heavy mascara.
Love this look! Off topic – is there a reason certain colours are on sale? Is there a chance those colours will be discontinued? Pleeease don’t take my beloved Lime Criminal away from me :(

We are discontinuing some less popular colors towards the end of summer, but Lime Criminal is here to stay :)

what colors do you want to discontinue?? Please keep seeling Airbonne Unicorn and My Beautiful Rocket FOR GOD’S SAKE
I like the look, but I just can’t get into the blue lipstick. I think it looks awful.
The D’Lilac is beautiful, though. Totally love it.
Ergh, no, Doe, I’m afraid I wouldn’t. The peachy orange eyes just look like they belong with another look- like the model had another lip color on and wiped it off to try those two on.
And, like someone else said, it’s too much competition of the warm/cool. I think you can do orange with purple or even blue lip, but not like that. (I use Cleopatra as a liner to make a little colored cat eye sweep paired with Airborne Unicorn sometimes, and there it’s small and just colorful.)
For ONSD! and D’Lilac I’d either apply the shadow much less saturated or pull it off the lids altogether and sweep a little peachy color over the cheeks instead. Orange blush is very summery, and done lightly can look like a natural glow against those intense lips.
I love d’Lilac, but I’ve been having trouble with it. I have pale, pale, PALE skin, and when I wear d’Lilac, I feel like the color doesn’t show up against my skin at all! Sometimes I just put it on and then use it to make lipstick kisses on mirrors and whatnot!
hmmm….I think on me it would be too eye catching. I prefer very soft colours, so perhaps the lilac but I would mix it with a pink :)
I have to say I really like D’lilac on the model. As for wearing it myself, I’d have to try it out first, but who knows?
What I don’t like is how overly photoshopped the images are. Your model looks beautiful, but the way too heavy photoshopping makes not like the images, it almost looks fake.
Hydrangeas are my favorite too. Did you know that you can change the color of them from pink to blue? It’s all dependent on how much aluminum is in the soil.

Love it! I just ordered the D’Lilac lipstick yesturday. I’ve been pining ofr it for weeks now and saw this post and took it as a sign ^.^
i wish i’d suit that, but im 98% sure i wouldnt, oh well, its a pretty colour, especially D’lilac :3
I like the lilac color. i’m not fond of the eyeshadow color with those lips though, just looks off to me. But like that flower pic, I would wear some pinkish purple with a blue color on the outer part of the eye with them, and maybe a tiny bit of yellow by the tear duct to look like those flowers. =]
Since I already have purple, I might go with the blue lipstick, Paired with some soft colors for the rest of the look.
I still like wearing D’lilac on one lip, and Oh No She Didn’t on the other best. :)

Ooh, I gotta try that!
i have no she didn’t, and the only reason i haven’t worn it yet is because it makes my less-than-perfectly-white teeth look yellow ;_;
but maybe if i can be bold enough to wear blue lipstick, i can not give a damn about my teeth.
i need to find a good color for my eyes that isn’t blue, though. i have blue eyes and blue eye makeup makes them look muddy.

Browns for blue eyes!
Actually, anything from a soft brown to something orangey, depending on how bold you feel and what tone your skin is, will make blue eyes pop.
When I do orange, I do a non-black liner (dove grey, usually) to keep it from being overwhelming.
