Tales of the Unicorn Queen

One of my favorite flowers is hydrangea – I especially adore the lilac/purple kind with greenish inflections! The combination is just so springy and cheerful, I can’t resist looking! Immediately it makes me think of makeup – and although blues and purples are generally reserved for the eyes, this spring/summer they migrate to the lips.

MUA Tori created a look that shows how you can get away with lavender and turquoise lipstick without looking overdone. Apply light concealer and foundation to face, and add a touch of natural blush. Keep the eyes light – shimmery peaches, bronzes, or a touch of silver will do the job (try Magic Dust in Cleopatra) . If you’re feeling adventurous, dab some of Circus Girl (on sale till June 7!) just onto inner corner of the eye. Play around with plum or gray liner – a great, subtle way to accentuate the waterline. Top off with black mascara.

Lips are the focus of this look. Apply D’Lilac (lavender) or No She Didn’t (sky blue) lipstick directly from the tube. Voila!

Deerlings: would you wear this look?

I love no she didn’t. I’d wear it every single day if I could!

You can – try mixing it with other colors for a cooling effect! ;)

i would totally go for both of them, alas i live in Serbia, and getting those lipsticks from US would cost me more than “buying whole make up factory“
But i absolutely love them and there are so many ways to play with them.Oh sniff sniff..

I currently have bright pink hair and own both “D’Lilac” and “No She Didn’t” but I’m not sure which one would look best. Any suggestions?

I think that No she didnt would look stunning with light pink hair. But with a little imagination you can make any lipstick work :)

I second this, go for No She Didnt’t!

I’m not sure about the pale blue one for myself, I think it is a little too hypothermia-chic for me. However, if you purposely tried to rock that look it might look really cool, actually…
I would probably wear a darker blue-brighter like cyan or darker like navy! And I do like the lilac!

PS I love the new header! GLAM

    Love love loooove!
I’m the more of a bold / emphasis on lip person over the bold eye, so these are extra beautiful imo!! ^ ^
Most def going to try! I’m sure the eye look will suit any of your lipstick colors perfectly. :D

Hell yes….but….I would wear eyeshadow to match the flowers…color color color….I don’t care if I look “over done”….Monet never became famous with a blank canvas!:)

i love your new lipsticks – pastel lips are my new inspiration for the summer; coincidentally they are for my MUA Xenia as well! i think we were most definitely channeling a little “Doe Deer” when we thought up this shoot concept: http://www.flickr.com/photos/charliebonesphoto/4670660823/

i think i wouldn’t wear the blue one,
    but it’s so beautiful!

  • I LOVE those flowers! I made a makeup look inspired by the pic and put on my blog (With you linked ofc)
I would definatly wear this look! Not sure about the Circus Girl thingy though; it would look great, but with purple lips (I really want Airborne Unicorn) it would look kinda ‘easter’ and with blue lips kinda ‘Sweden’ :P (I’m from Sweden)
