Anyone can do nautical – all you need is a striped dress, beret, and a pair of big shades (crimped hair is fun too, but optional!). My favorite interpretations of nautical are the not-too-literal, with just a few elements present. That’s the key to not overdoing it and keeping it fashion, not Halloween. I like the idea of a rope necklace and magenta lips – talk about statement accessories!

I loved doing this shoot so much, check out the behind-the-scenes!

I just saw this on a local city blog and thought you would like it. It’s related to your post.

*I also remember wearing those white rope bracelets every summer as a child. Wish they were colored back then.

Cute!
I think the look is adorable. I haven’t crimped my hair in ages! haha Love it.
I enjoy the nautical look. I have a really cute Lolita sailor-esque outfit (skirt and bolero). I often wear the bolero with jeans. Here’s a picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v610/Liliuokalanii/IMG_4581.jpg
Amazing Doe!
:D
And the lighting looks great…;)
LOL. :D
great concept!
I love nautical style! Navy and white make such a great alternative to black as a neutral.
This reminds me of my uncle’s nautical-inspired wedding. Theres something very powerful and whimsical in the nautical look.

I actually love very nautical inspired clothes. It’s one of my favourite styles and I want to find more nautical inspired clothing. I also live right near the shore so I have an ocean view all year round.
I think this summer I may try to do a pseudo-photo shoot at the jetty/sand circle at my favourite beach. c:
Omg! I looooove the nautical theme! I’m so glad it’s in!
Hi Doe,
your blog is my favorite blog of all times.
And nautical is my favorite style of all times!
Coincidentally, I am wearing a nautical yellow dress/purple jacket combo today, with bright coral lipstick.
Where did you get the striped dress? It’s gorgeous! I love the different stripe widths on the top and bottom.
