It’s been a crazy week – I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday! We just sold our Mitsubishi Mirage and are working on purchasing another vehicle. I’ve been doing lots of research on compact cars – my favorite kind! – and a certain Scion XA stole my heart. :) Isn’t it cute? It’s like a toy car, only ours is going to be in red. It’s clearly the only color we’re allowed to have seeing how all our previous vehicles were red.
I wish more cars were made in cute colors. Scion XA, for instance, only comes in boring shades of black, silver, white and red. What’s worse, cars are not easily customizable – huge annoyance to a DIY nut like me. ;) Why can’t they make a car in rainbow finish, with yellow plastic interior and iridescent mirrors? Or a pale lavender car with power blue polka dots all over and bright white rims? Heck, I’d even cave in and take a white & cream striped Mini Cooper…
Deerlings: what kind of a car do you drive? What is your dream car?
P.S. I got recently interviewed by the Creepy Queen Magazine.

I drive a Toyota Yaris, and I think it has turned into my dream car (if my dreams are to be at all realistic). It is the cutest little thing, and so easy to drive and see out of (considering my 5′2″ stature, being able to comfortably reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel at the same time is an incredibly important bonus). Mine is in a color called Absolutely Red, and every red pales in comparison. It is amazingly fantastic.

I drive.. and this is so ghetto.. a Chevy Malibu.. 2001.
Upsides: runs fantastic, was bought outright in money order, a/c works (a must in Arizona!), great gas mileage.
Downsides: no radio/CD, steering wheel is cracked at spots (damn Arizona sun!), sun screening in the windows is peeling and I can’t afford to fix it.

I must admit to being somewhat of a car nut. I’m one of likely a handful of chicks that is obsessed with Top Gear. I currently drive a Ford Focus ZX3 – 2001 with 165,000miles on it
It’s a great little thing, but what I’d really like to be driving is a Jaguar XJ220. Makes me all wibbly just thinking about it!
Check it out on Top Gear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGHJ917zGC0

I’m having a white BMW 3 Series once I pass my driving test – deliciously retro!
Lots of people in my area don’t have enough money for car insurance or driving lessons (the UK route to a full license is ridiculously expensive) so I’m glad to be lucky enough to have a car in the future.

Ohhh, haha oddly enough, I always wondered what kind of car you drove! I can totally see you in that car! You should get it pink pink instead though ;];].
I have a crappyish ford escort ZX2
right now, although I’ve been shopping around. My current dream car is a 4 door jeep rubicon in metallic green.
and I adooore my boyfriends Mazda Rx8, I wouldn’t mind one of those either ;].
But I think my ultimate dream car is actually the one sitting in my garage right now! It’s half finished and my dream is to well, finish it! It’s a 1963 Ford Fairlane, gorrgeous retro red and white vinyl seats, complete with the big fins on the back of the car!

Currently I drive a beat up 2000 Acura with 170,000 miles on it. Still runs great so no worries. Hopefully after I’m out of college and have a steady job and all that important stuff I’ll get a 1970 Dodge Charger :D ’tis my dream car… it’ll be painted black and have a burgundy leather interior and a super duper Hemi engine! My grandpa’s younger brother has one and omg it’s perfection!

I drive a red Chevy Malibu Classic, 2005. I bought it (with hood damage) because it had a functional a/c (live in AZ), and a radio. Previous car was a 1993 Saturn Crapass with no air. (sold it to my boyfriend, and someone hit him and wrecked it. He got more than double what he paid me for it, was not happy)
My dream car is a 2005 or newer Volkswagen Rabbit, preferably in a Black Cherry or a Sky Blue (not that it necessarily comes in that color, but a girl can dream). Either that or a dark pink or sky blue Volkswagen Beetle. VW love!

I drove a Scion XA for 4 years and loved it until I was in an accident this past May and my insurance company declared it a total loss :( It really was my dream car: I loved the color (Burgandy), it’s small size & cute shape, and the fact that it was very fuel efficient. When I was forced to buy a new car, I knew that I wouldn’t find something I liked as much as is did my Scion. If I could have bought another XA I would have, but unfortunately they have discontinued the model. I ended up getting a white Chevy Aveo since it was reasonably priced and felt the closest to an XA that I could find. But I agree, I wish more car colors would be made available. I would enjoy my Aveo a lot more if I could have gotten it in purple.

I drive one of the Tinyest Cars out there in my opinion. A 1993 Suzuki Side kick, nicknamed HELLOZUKI Its black, with a bright pink soft top and white 24 inch rims. The whole inside of the car is Gray, pink, white and Black. My seatcovers and stearing wheel cover are Hello kitty and my boyfriend cumstom made a spare tire cover with hello kitty on it for my birthday I even have pink led lights under my seats and dashboard! My boyfriends a huge car buff and Has a Red 2002 focus 7X3 with a huge star wars rebel symbol sticker on the back and a licence plate that says RedLder [Red Leader]. I think cars are by far the most customize things out there, You an basically do WHATEVER you want to them if your willing to fork over the money and a whole lot of elbow grease! You can get the car painted any color you want, and the same with rims! I saw a cuz who had a Truck painted blue with a purple sheen that had sparkels and GLITTER painted on to it under the top coat!

I can fit so much more stuff in this car and people can get in and out of the back easier with the back doors and roomy seats. I have a black pearl one but now they make it in blackberry pearl. Purple! My favorite color! I have a few stickers on the windows of mine plus a Haunted Mansion license plate on the front.

I don’t drive (I’m planning on starting my lessons soon though!), but I love Mini Coopers. Especially in red; they’re so cute!
There used to be a van around my neighbourhood (in Flushing) whose owners gave it DIY paint jobs. I think they used spray paint or something because there would be dried paint drips running down the windows. And the colours were all muddy and crazy looking, so my friends and I would just kind of laugh at it. Then one day it was covered in gold glitter. It was amazing. I don’t see it around anymore though ):

I currently drive a 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer. When i earn enough money to make my car a fashion statement, i would love to get a car from the 50’s or 60’s. Cars were just so much prettier then!
I totally agree about the colour thing. There’s an ad on tv here in Australia that has this car and it’s actually quite a cool purple-ey colour and in small print down the bottom it says “colour and model not available in Australia.” Then what’s the point of the ad???

anyway, i do think smart cars are adorable. super tiny and easy to park, especially good for cities. oh, and i saw one around here that was painted green and lavender and had polka dots. a really nice professional paint job too…almost looked like it have come from the factory that way…

I had a blue Lancer that I LOVED SOOO much but a guy ran a red light when I got out of work last year and totaled it when I was 1 month away from paying it off. =( I miss it and even though the white one is a newer model, the old one (“Ella” as I fondly called her because it means pretty) had more amenities such as a automated key lock/unlock sensor.

I don’t drive yet, I’ve got my eye on a VW Fox ’cause they’re pretty cheap, and essentially it’s just a small Golf which is good and reliable. It is a pretty cute car, but not too girly. I hate when a car is aimed at women, so in the brochures they don’t talk about engine size, and technical aspects… they’re more concerned with the interiors and ‘fun colours!’. Although I think it’d be pretty cool to reupholster a car in cute fabric…
I really like the Nissan Figaro http://www.luxcars.ch/images/1719_nissan_figaro.jpg because it looks like a vintage car, but isn’t. They should do more of those! I love the look of them but I’d be scared that the safety wouldn’t be as good, and I’m really not interested in anything without power steering. Shame this only comes in Automatic, no good for living in good old England.

Right now anything with A/C, clean seats, working engine and good gas milage would sufice. But a dream car? hmm..I used to want a green VW bug so bad. I ended up getting a yellow one…for barbies. But at this point, if I get my license, I want a Volkswagen R32 in Metallic Cerulean, with all Chococat accesories.

Heh my car is an old blue Ford Laser station wagon (very rare apparently, as they really only ever came as hatchback’s) which I have added BRIGHT pink seat covers to, as well as a pink steering wheel cover and two unicorns that sit on the dashboard. It is the cutest looking car ever, my male friends who borrow her (we call her Betsy) are so embarrassed to drive her but I feel as proud as punch whenever people see me cruising around. I have this thing for daggy older cars, because you can add lots of stickers and over-the-top things to them without caring because hey, it’s an old car you got for $2000!

My fiance and I drive a Toyota Yaris. It’s blue, but they come in a couple shades of red, a bright one, and a darker one with a nice sheen to it. If you are concerned with how small they really are, I’m 5′2″, but my fiance is 6′1″, and we took it half way across the country, from Cape Cod, MA to Biloxi, Mississippi. It was jam packed with everything we needed, and we only stopped for gas twice. Also, it’s the greenest, non-hybrid car out there so far. Not to mention completely adorable!

Cave in?? My dream car is the Mini Cooper! They come in the cutest colors now too: http://miniusa.com/#/build/configurator/minis-m
However, the colors/customization are nowhere close to where they should be — no rainbow colors here! Although, they do give you the option to put sport stripes and side mirror designs. The interior options are all pretty boring!
I believe car manufacturers are moving toward more customization at this point. Everyone wants a unique car, and it’s not so difficult to provide options anymore.

I wanted a bright/fun colored car b/c my last one was white and kinda boring. The tacoma’s came in bright blue, which I wanted to get, but they discontinued that color so I ended up with a charcoal grey one. I did manage to add my own touches here and there. I have some green and purple turtle dolls sitting on my dash and I found some really pretty stickers by the artist Murikami and put them on my back window. It’s not much, but it’s a start. =)

I don’t have a dream car though I would be happy with a pink one. Mine is a dark blue, so I have to make do with a pink radio instead.

Right now, I have my heart set on the Nissan Cube. It’s so strange looking, I love it. My boyfriend drives a Kia Soul which is really fun (I love the red interior with flashing speakers). Okay, I actually have several dream vehicles. The first is the plainest and most boring, and they become progressively more exciting.
1.) An aqua T-bird with tan leather interior (that is, of course, convertible)
2.) A Vespa, made steampunk by myself, complete with brass finish, welded on vintage compass and pocketwatch, deep brown brass-studded leather seat and handlebars, glass and brass lantern, and attached tape player. I know you’re wondering how the next one is going to be more exciting, right?
3.) A Volkswagen minibus in hot pink and white on the outside, with the two front seats recovered in faux zebra hair, and all the other seats taken out to make space for a moroccan living room on acid (no drugs allowed), complete with paper and punched metal lanterns, colorful and mirrorred poufs, bright rugs, and a small music center and trunk of good things. This vehicle would be set aside for travelling with friends, however close or far.
Love love love,
Rickey <3

I drive 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. His name is Hendrix. He’s bright yellow and decked out with Hello Kitty seat covers. :)

I actually drive a dark blue xA, Olli.
I love it! I liked putting all sorts of pink stuff in it. And if you look on car modification websites, you can find out how to take the panels on the inside off and re-cover them. Almost anything is possible with some fabric and paint.

Little late to the game, but my dream car is a 2007/2008 Mazda 2 in leaf green. I think it’s all manner of adorable.
