Announcement: I will be making a personal appearance at Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School in NYC, on November 22nd. Mosh is a guest model - I will be doing her makeup, as well as hanging out for the meet & greet. I would be delighted to meet some of you in real life, so come out! :)
Btw, participants will get a chance to win a Lime Crime Makeup goodie bag, YAY!

Eyes were lightened, but makeup colors are accurate. :)
I looove vampires. Oh, who am I kidding - I wish I was one! I mean, who wouldn’t want to be a sexy, mysterious, blood-sucking creature?! Here’s a tutorial for all my lovely Gothic friends. :) And call me crazy, but I think it’s totally wearable!

INGREDIENTS
available at Lime Crime Makeup
- Eyeshadows: Empress, Medusa, Fairy Wings
- Purple or black pencil liner, black liquid liner, black mascara
- Lips: dark red lipstick (try L’Oreal Endless in Crimson Joy)
- Face: foundation, red-orange blush, contouring eyeshadow, Sheer Magic Finishing Pixie Dust
Eyes
Apply eyelid primer. On outer and inner corners, apply Medusa (a shimmery black). Empress purple goes right in the center. Blend the colors together with a medium-sized brush. On the brow bone, apply Fairy Wings (a highlighter with gorgeous purple sparkles), blend into the black/purple well. I underlined the eye with Empress first, then went over it with Medusa.
If you have a purple eyeliner, awesome - apply it on the waterline. If not, black will work just as well (hey, this is a Gothic tutorial! :)). Alongside lashes, apply liquid black liner. Apply 2-3 coats of mascara o top and bottom lashes. Define eyebrows with black or brown pencil (depending on your hair color).

Face
Newsflash: Lime Crime Makeup will soon carry a Foundation Primer. Primer makes the foundation go on extra-smooth and minimizes wrinkles and imperfections. I used it for this look and couldn’t believe how evenly my foundation and concealer glided on! How did I live without this stuff???
In my makeup bin, have a couple foundations: my own skin tone in the winter, my own tone in the summer, darker foundation for shading, and the lightest foundation I could get a hold of for special effects. I wanted my skin to be etherially pale here, so I used L’Oreal True Match in Porcelain. When using a foundation that’s not an exact match, don’t forget to blend it into your neck, otherwise it’ll look funny. :)
Tip: when wearing a warm-toned lipstick, wear a warm-toned blush, and vice versa. Generally, lips and cheeks should always match - unless you’re an avant-garde artiste and don’t want them to match on purpose.
Apply red-orange blush and set face with the Finishing Pixie Dust. If you want your face to really glow, get a larger eyeshadow brush and pack on some Pixie Dust above your cheek, on the area right underneath the eye. You can also do the bridge of your nose and center of the chin.
Lips
This is one of my favorite red lipsticks and it’s not even fancy - it’s L’Oreal Endless in Crimson Joy. It’s an intense, darker red that has an excellent staying power. Outline lips with a deep red pencil and fill in with lipstick. Voila!
Deerlings: what are your favorite vampire movies? Maybe there’s one I haven’t seen yet. Excitement!

It has to be The Lost Boys. I must have watched that film a thousand times over! If they go ahead with the remake, I may just lose the will to live… unless they randomly cast me in it of course :D
But there was talks of Britney Spears being in it *shudder* Must she ruin everything?
November 13th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
How gorgeous! I’ll be wearing this look as soon as I can buy the range… it’s my Christmas present to myself, as I’ve been following your progress for a good few years now! I’ve just attended Dr Sketchy’s here in Glasgow, a few of my friends performed, and it was fantastic! I can’t wait to go back, but I’d love to attend in NYC, the natural habitat! Have fun, and I’ll order soon! :D

You gotta watch True Blood (HBO series - hence lots of nudity)!!!
November 13th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Oh, and my favourite vampire movie is Interview with a Vampire, so classical and romantic!
Brat, the remake has been done, check IMDB, it’s a straight-to-DVD affair, but no Britney was harmed in the making!

Im not sure if I have a favorite vampire movie, I just remember one summer I was spending the summer at my friends house and I just wanted to watch Interview with a Vampire. And my friends refused, saying I wanted to become a vampire. It was utterly ridiculous! I just wanted to watch a movie. However, being a vampire would be sweet.

What is this art school thing? A lecture? A shoot? Sounds fun if Mosh will be there!
November 13th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
I wish I was in New York for this event!
November 13th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
When when when when when will the primer be available?????
November 13th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
I have to agree with Kat - True Blood is incredible, a must watch. The make-up is not as creative as yours but it is a sexy vampire series.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
I’m so disappointed to not be able to show up– especially with a Lime Crime makeup bag giveaway!
Vamp films: Gotta agree with True Blood! John Carpenter’s Vampires. Sad pleasure for Underworld. There are lots of great indie vampire films working the indie horror film fest circuit… like Lord of Vampires…
November 13th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
I have to agree with both Kat and Sarahbelle. True Blood has become a weekly watch of mine, and I’ll be sad when the season is over. I hate waiting for the next season! The wait seems eternal.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I think mine has to be The Lost Boys too, nothing beats those mullets! The sequel however is… deceidedly lacking, but amusing if you liked the first!
Great look!
November 13th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
My top three vampire movies:
1. Lost Boys (Nothing beats that awesome 80s soundtrack ^_~…oh and the remake, we pretend it doesn’t exist)
2. Interview with a Vampire (Yeah, Tom Cruise may be crazy now, but he played a great Lestat)
3. Jesus Christ, Vampire Slayer! (Hell yes)
November 13th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Gorgeous very “Underworld” classy vamp. I think the new movie “twilight” is going to bring back the sexy cowlick/bedhead look for guys.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
I love your makeup! I really like that you didn’t use a ‘cliched’ goth look, either. I’m so going to have to save some extra money so I can get your shadows. I’m a sparkle fiend. ;)
As for Vampire movies, I actually just watched Lost Boys last night for the first time in 10 years, and I was a bit disappointed. I prefer vampire movies that don’t follow a typical horror movie pattern. I really like Night Watch and Day Watch, though those aren’t entirely vampire centric, they play a good role. Of course, the beautiful Interview will always be my #1
Cheers,
Sirenne

I love this look. I am just like you, even if I am not running around in a velvet cape and liquid eyeliner smeared all over my face I still will always consider myself a Goth.
The Lost Boys
Interview with a Vampire
Queen of the Damned
Underworld
My Best Friend is a Vampire(80’s all the way)
Blacula! I was laughing so hard watching this! haha
I also have been checking out True Blood, it’s alright, hopefully it will get better.
I am developing a foundation primer too. Because of my problem skin I have always been searching for something to make it go on smoothly and look great but haven’t really found anything, can’t wait to try yours! Your skin looks great in these photos! <3

i love your tutorials!
i think most of them are wearable.
too bad my mom is a makeup nazi.

I like Interview With a Vampire and Francis Ford Copola’s Dracula the best for vampire movies. They are so deliciously classic, elegant, and beautifully strange. But none of that Twilight rubbish. I shut the book after a few chapters because it was so dreadful.
;D But yeah! I think this look is totally wearable. I would anyways, but thats just me. n_n;
November 13th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
I can’t help it, I love Interview with a Vampire. It is so good, I love Kirsten Dunst in it, so innocent and yet so evil.
My fave vamipre entertainment is Buffy, not a movie, but I love it. It’s funny wtaching it know, ’cause they look so daggy.
Also The Covenant is a really cool vampire movie, it has Chance Crawford from Gossip Girl in it.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
I’m going to a Dr Sketchy’s on Saturday, never been before I’m really excited.
I’d be interested in the foundation primer too, I’ve found it difficult to find many products. Your makeup is beautiful :) xx
November 13th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
You read my mind. =P
I was already thinking about doing vampire inspired make-up tomorrow due to a certain book I’ve been reading. <3
Lucky me, I already have Empress and Medusa.
I’ll just substitute Fairy Wings for Snow Queen.
Great stuff Doe!
November 13th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Damn that’s hot!!
I don’t watch many vampire movies(but yeah, they are awesome, and sexy), but there are tons of great vampire books out there.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Wow… I always think I have seen you at your best but yet everytime I am saying the same thing again! Just gorgeous! These colors are fantastic together and they suit you wonderfully!
November 13th, 2008 at 10:50 pm
Without a doubt, Vampire in Brooklyn.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
d’aww..i’m working that day, otherwise i would totally love to go. shucks.
anyway, i love the look, and my favorite vampire movie is definitely lost boys. :)
November 13th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
Nice! good timing too, I’m reading “The Vampire: his kith and kin” by Montague Summers right now. it’s more academic, which is good. that’s what I was looking for! and it’s from 1928, so it’s from when vampires were *just* beginning to be romanticized.
I think it’s way wearable!
oh, and when it comes to vampire media, please, PLEASE avoid the Twilight series. It’s awfully written. I want my 4 days back. lol.
November 14th, 2008 at 12:44 am
I love this look! You’re reminding me of the character Lucy from 1992 Dracula dir. by Francis Ford Coppola.
My favorite vampire move is Nosferatu dir. by F.W. Murnau in 1922. There’s also a more recent movie made about the making of Nosferatu called Shadow of the Vampire. Both are worth checking out! :)
November 14th, 2008 at 12:52 am
I have to say, I would wear it in a heartbeat. I love those colors together. And bright red lipstick makes my eyes look bluer :)
Hmmm I like pretty much every vampire movie I see. Have you seen John Carpenter’s Vampires: Los Muertos? Yeah a bit cheesy but I still like it :)
November 14th, 2008 at 2:11 am
I love this tutorial…and you know I agree on its wearable-ness!
I’ve been reading a lot of young adult vampire books lately. Of course there’s Twilight, but I liked Evernight & the Blue Bloods series more! Have you read them?
November 14th, 2008 at 2:46 am
WHY!!! *cries* I was sad that I will be missing mosh at dr. sketchy… but you’re going to be there too… now that’s really sad… hope you guys visit Texas some time?
Love the look. I need to get Empress really soon. Didn’t realize it was so beautiful..
I’d vote for Underworld… although with all the suggestions, I guess I should check out true blood.
November 14th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
It’s gorgeous, indeed, but I don’t think it’s that daring or unwearable at all.
November 14th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
this is the way i do my make-up on a day to day basis(for work, and school) and i always try new colors i love it
November 16th, 2008 at 12:18 am
You look gorgeous as always!! I so want to try this for the ‘Twilight’ movie premier on Nov 21!! It would be so awesome!
November 17th, 2008 at 11:18 am

Martin by George Romero
Vampyros Lesbos by Jess Franco
Nosferatu by Werner Herzog
Near Dark
Female Vampire
Daughters of Darkness
The Hunger (w/ David Bowie)
November 19th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
