Lime Crime Makeover: Kat
Category: Makeup Tutorials
My sister went red! You know what that means? *dun dun dun* Lime Crime makeover! I wanted to do a fabulous spring look that accentuated her new hair – and nothing spells out spring better than succulent greens and bright purples!

INGREDIENTS
- Eyeshadows: Lime Criminal, Emporess, Fairy Wings, Elf
- Eyes: eyeshadow primer, mascara, blue pencil liner
- Lips: orange lipstick
- Face: Foundation Primer, concealer, foundation, peach blush, Pixie Dust

Photography: Grenouille | Model: Katia V.
Eyes
Curl lashes and apply 2 layers of mascara to top lashes, 1 to bottom. Let dry and curl again to open up the eyes. Prep the lids with foundation primer and apply Lime Criminal all over the lid with a medium brush. Layer the color until it’s brighty and shiny! Then take a larger brush and blend out slightly to fill the brow bone. Accentuate outer corners with a touch of Elf. Aply Empress on the lower lid, starting from outer corners (that’s where most color will be). With a smaller brush, define inner corner with sparkly Fairy Wings. Blend into the Empress. Line top lid half-way a blue pencil, keeping as close to the lashes as possible.
Face
Moisturize skin with your favorite lotion and let it sip in for about a minute. Apply Foundation Primer and foundation. Cover up dark spots and under-eye circles with concealer. Fill in eyebrows. Apply peach-toned blush to the cheeks. Set with Finishing Pixie Dust.
Did you know?
Makeup artists’ secret weapon, Foundation Primer, gives a smoother application and minimizes the amount of foundation you need. It also creates a barrier between your skin and foundation!

Lips
My favorite orange lipstick is MAC Morange (rhymes with ‘orange’!). I recommend using a nude lip liner and a small brush for precision when working with bright colors. Voila!
And here’s a picture of Before and During. :)

She looks stunning, before and after. I think she could pull off any haircolor in the rainbow, and you could too because you guys got all of the pretty genes. Haha..

I want to see you do a makeover on Ally! Any way to convince you both of that? :)
Your sis is just gorgeous, just like you. You could both pull off anything.

Do you have any tips for filling in eyebrows? I don’t know if it is because my hair is lighter than my eyebrows or because they are very skinny, but they always end up looking overdone when I try to fill them.

Oh my! That’s the perfect shade of red that I’ve been wanting for ages! A gorgeous ginger-y red.
Kat looks fantastic, and I’m VERY envious of her great look.

Your sister looks amazing. Awesome make up, hair color and cut. Did she dye her hair herself?
If I was her I would have added some of the dye to her eyebrows since her eyebrows are very dark brown. I always (carefully) add a bit of dye to mine so it matches my hair a bit more. I like not looking like I obviously dyed my hair a color far away from my natural color. Like my eyebrows are light brown so when I go red, I add red to them, when I go black I dye them darker.

Beautiful girl! Loving the red, especially with such gorgeous blue eyes. :)
I love your message and your openness. I hope you know that you’re doing a lot of good for the world; just by being honest about the good, the bad and the things that are usually “left unsaid” about your life. It’s comforting and incredibly inspiring!

I’d love to get a lime crime makeover! I bought some, but I have trouble with a couple of your tutorials. I don’t know if it’s my eye shape, or my lack of makeup skills. I do like to blend colors myself, but there are some looks that you did that I just love!

WOW!!! You two sure have some amazing genes. I love her haircut. Being a redhead and a hair designer myself, I can sure appreciate the work that went into that hair. It looks great. I Have lots of redhead clients, I love to work with reds. Love the red and green combo, such a complementary duo! ;)

ALSO — I really like her teeth. Make sure you pass that along. SOOOOOOOOOoooooooo attractive. :) Maybe it’s because it draws attention to her lips, but there’s something super sexy about her mouth in general.

Thanks guys, I’ll be sure to pass along your complements to Kat.
She got her hair makeover as part of L’Oreal’s educational/promotional video for this new hair dye they’ve got. The funny thing is, she was a redhead for exactly 2 days, and went back to her natural blonde before returning to work. “I will never get the promotion with this hair,” were her exact words. :)

I can’t believe she changed it back to blonde!!!!!! Bah humbug.
I love the contrast of the green and purple around the eyes…..luscious!
As soon as I can afford it,I’m buying some of your exquisite eyeshadows. I’d buy some right now if the overseas shipping costs weren’t involved….damn! Why is Australia so far away?!

I’m so glad I saw/found your blog!. I have the same exact colour hair — maybe a tad brighter — and was just asking Shana (of Shana Logic) the other day what she’d recommend. Although, I also have a very fair complexion to boot. :)
She happened to mention Elf (also Mermaid and Twilight) and I was already oogling Lime Criminal to begin with!.

Your family has extraordinary genes.
Also, I love her hair– the color, of course, but also the cut! With her strong features I daresay it’s even a little bit Catherine Zeta Jones? (In Chicago! Which is all about sequins and jazz and the 1920’s!)

I personally love Kat’s eyebrows. I think too many girls over-pluck nowadays, and a nice set of full (not unruly though!) eyebrows add the right amount of character to a face. :) You look lovely, Kat! And for all those talking about these two sisters’ lucky genes, you should get a load of their mom!

Too bad she didn’t keep the red color. But I totally understand why she didn’t. To get ahead in certian areas of “Corporate America” you have to look the part which usually means you can’t be too flashy in dress or hair color.
I love red hair but for me it’s a lot of upkeep. I always go back and forth between black and red. I love red but it fades so quickly (and I do all the right things…not wash hair daily, use products for red hair etc…) and it still fades within a week or two which makes me dye my hair every 4 weeks which isn’t the healthiest of things to do. I’m currently in this situation. I’m about to go back to black from red. Of course I’m going to be smart this time and only use semi perm black dye in case I want to go lighter again. Last time I had to grow black out and have ends bleached in order to go back to red.

Your sister is beautiful! Without the make-up she looks like the actress who plays “Stefy” on the Bold And The Beautiful (or as my mom and I call it “Drunk and whorey”)..eek yes i admit after getting kicked out of school and with having no cable/satelite i got sucked into a soap opera. Anyway the point is that she really resembles her.
