You may have noticed that some Magic Dusts have been marked as Limited Edition on our website. This is due to our dusts undergoing a transformation: some colors are being discontinued, some new ones will be introduced!
Final Magic Dust collection will include 16 shades: a mix of old favorites and 5 new colors, which will be revealed in July. Stay tuned!

So what exactly are we doing to Magic Dusts? We are improving the formula, giving the product better adhesion and even more pigmentation in some cases (yes, it’s possible!). In addition, our magic dusts will come in a cute-as-a-button, less-prone-to-spillage jar – just because it’s powder product doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to travel with it!
New Magic Dusts will be available at the end of August 2010. You may purchase the Limited Editions now, while supplies last – but be quick, we are running out quickly and don’t expect them to last longer than 4-6 weeks!

What do you mean by same? It says on Limecrime at the top of the page: “Each Magic Dust comes in a 10g sifter jar and contains 0.14 oz net weight of product”. I ordered some eyeshadows a couple of days ago so I’m interested as to what will come.

This is really exciting, I wondered what the limited edition stuff was about. It looks like you’re getting rid of all your blue/green shades, I really hope one of the new colors is a nice teal to replace these shades. I’ve been trying to decide for awhile if I should get Mermaid of Duchess since neither one was quite the color I wanted so a new teal color would be awesome!

Yaaaay! While rushing to get ready for a wedding, I suffered a bout of super-spillage in my bathroom sink. On the other hand, I now have a lovely iridescent sink. My bathroom (and boyfriend) are thanking you in advance for the new jars. :D

The new packaging’s cute, is it leak-proof? My makeup bag is FULL of Nymph. It’s a shame you’re not continuing Duchess – that was one of my favourites!

Yay! Glad to hear it. I’m going to try and get Mermaid asap because I’ve been putting it off forever. And so happy to hear about the jars! Last summer, while flying to the USA, I discovered my makeup/toiletry case to be fully covered in Shoe Addict when I’d arrived in Texas. :( The TSA had decided to go through my things, probably thought my magic dusts were some evil canadian terrorist bomb, and didn’t close it properly afterwards. :(
I’m so sad you’re getting rid of all my fairytale favorite magic dusts! Fairy Wings, Elf, Enchant…why oh why?!?!? It’s ok, at least I’ll have the rarest Lime Crime colors all to myself…muahahahaha!

Same size jar?
The shop page currently say the jars are the following:
“Each Magic Dust comes in a 10g sifter jar and contains 0.14 oz net weight of product.”
0.14oz net weight.
You post above says:
“The net weight of the jar will remain the same (2 g/0.07 oz)”
0.07oz net is half of what the shop lists the current jars as.

Okay I’m still confused haha! I don’t want to know how big the jar is, but how much PRODUCT is going to be in the jars.. right now it’s 0.14oz net weight on the website, which is 4g, but in your post you said it’s going to be half of that, 2g which is 0.07oz net weight. So confused !! :) But I can’t wait for the new blues and greens!

Ooh awesome! One of the only complaints I’ve heard about the dusts is that they can sometimes spill a little, and I am incredibly clumsy, so new jars will be extra extra super great! I’m really excited for the new colors…

This is kind of a weird thing to ask on this post. One could ask why you have an obsession with internet drama? These two women may share some similar interests (as we all do or we wouldn’t be here) but I have never seen evidence of an obsession or any sort of fight between them.
Why can’t we all get along and enjoy the glitter?
Do you ever plan on making matte powders? I love the colors but just don’t do sparkle…
What a shame ‘Treasure Chest’ is going to be discontinued. It was my fave of all times, but I’m soooo excited for the new colours!

BTDubs, love the new packaging, I just hope it seals better than the last ones–my only shadow-like container I've ordered from you was the love spell glitter, and it always leaks and gets all over everywhere–as much as I like the color I'd rather have it on my eyes than my hands and bag! Why does the lab tell you how much to put in? Since it’s your line, aren’t you in control of how much product you want to sell.. The magic dusts I ordered before had 4g of product, it would kind of suck if it went down to 2 :(

You are absolutely correct about that. We chose a jar that holds the exact same volume as the last one (10 g). While it will be filled to maximum capacity, net weight of product fluctuates from formula to formula. What I’m trying to find is how much the new stuff will weigh. I will keep everybody posted.

I was wondering I had bought lime crime early on when they were in the tiny jars and after buying alot I had stopped going to the site for awhile(so not to hurt my wallet anymore ;) lol)and when I came back some of the other things you were selling were gone and I have always want to know why you stopped selling the glitter, face/blush powder!?I also was wondering do you think you will sell any of that stuff again?

Pink Poodle is getting discontinued altogether, along with several other shades. I can assure you it has nothing to do with any other suppliers’ shortage or anything like that. Just wanted to make that clear once and for all. Thanks.

I would love a green lipstick, something that’s NOT dark and witchy (that’s the only green that companies seem to sell).
