Tales of the Unicorn Queen

Continued from Part 1.

The idea of fetish modeling is innately sexual, yet you have an aura of innocence about you – something that I find especially appealing. What is the fetish scene to you – an outlet to express your sexuality or just a fashion with elements of sexy?

Its a little bit of both. I have a strong connection with fetish fashion and to express fetish I feel that you have to express your sexuality in some way as well. Going back to the innocence, I’m not sure if that’s because of how I transfer emotion through a photographer, or just has something to do with my look.

Tell us about the San Francisco Fetish Ball where you just performed.
.
The San Francisco Fetish Ball was a fabulous gathering of artists, designers, models, and fetish enthusiasts. This year’s theme was based on a 1927 silent science-fiction film created by famed Austrian-German director, Fritz Lang. The ball consisted of three days. The first was a gallery show, the second club enslaved, and the third was the fetish ball. The fetish ball is where all the performances and shows take place. You meet a lot of interesting people, and you’re surrounded by intriguing outfits. Lots of corsets, latex, and other beautiful things to stare at! A long list of people attended. Some of the designers were Antiseptic Fashions, Vex, Syren, Madame S, and Bodycult. Artists included Lithium Picnic, Michael Hussar, Allan Amato, and many others. There were a lot of performers/models who attended as well so if you want to view that list check out www.sffetishball.com

Mosh has been known to refuse to model in anything but latex. Can you explain what it is about rubber that you love so much?
.

Well I won’t refuse the cotton stuff but I definitely am immediately attracted to latex over other materials. I’m so addicted to it! Perhaps its the way latex hugs your body, or how photogenic latex pieces are.

Where do you purchase your latex outfits and how big is your collection?

eBay was my main shopping area at first for my latex outfits. I didn’t have the money to pay for the designer’s dresses which ran between $300 and $1000 from their websites so I had to make do with eBay or sales. Then I learned how to create my own latex pieces and I started to do that, but quickly dropped it because it was way too time consuming. I ran into hedonsfair.com later and we made a deal where they would make me customs based off my designs. I still purchase a lot off eBay because I find many unique pieces there. I rarely buy ready-made latex that anyone else can buy, it makes my images look too commercial in my opinion unless I’m modeling for the designer’s actual catalog. My latex collection isn’t that big yet, it takes years to build up a large collection so check back in with me in 2010 or something.

What about your sky-high platform shoes, where do they come from? What is the highest heel you’ve ever worn?

eBay once again! Can you tell I’m a fan? For some reason the heels that I’m attracted to become a retired model by the time I find them so eBay is a great place to find those. Other times I just do random searches for heels on google and I come up with some great online stores.
The highest heel I’ve ever worn was 8.5″ on a platform and 7″ as a stiletto. I really want some of the crazy 10″ heels they sell on some of the fetish stores.

Can you really walk in fetish ballet shoes without a stick?

Yes I can. The knee and ankle ballet boots are a lot easier to walk in as opposed to the other ballet heels but I’ve learned how to walk and pose in all of them. Someone actually taped me during a shoot, hopefully I can get that and post a video sometime.

Aside from modeling, did you have any interesting odd jobs?

Not necessarily interesting but I was a receptionist at a day spa and I used to coach kids in gymnastics. In the summertime I would work as a riding instructor and a stable hand at a horse farm, probably my favorite job from the three. I still maintain a dull day job as an administrator but hopefully that will change soon.

Is there such a thing as an agency-represented fetish model? Or is it largely independent?

I’ve heard of a couple of agencies who mainly have fetish and alternative models such as H.V. Quenzer Agency and then there’s Ugly in NYC who has a lot of alternative models and actors however the fetish/alt modeling genre seems to be largely independent. Its too small of a market to have any big agencies come after it.

Models and photographers will often do crazy things to get a good shot. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done for a picture?
.
There were a bunch of shoots that were pretty crazy but the first one that comes to mind is when I went with two other photographers to shoot in an abandoned hospital. A bunch of idiot kids came over the tag the place or do whatever kids do these days and of course they attracted the attention of the cops on the other side of the hospital. We were in one of the rooms but we could hear the cops outside arresting these kids. We waited about 45 minutes before we started to pack everything up and at some point in time the cop spotted one of the photographers from the outside while they were circling the place and ordered us the get out. I never thought I’d have a gun pointed at my head at the age of 17 hahaha. Anyways, we were let go and I still shoot with the photographer who originally set this up, we still go to abandoned places…

Tell us about your upcoming paysite, themoshroom.com. What is a paysite?

A paysite is a website where content, such as images, videos, journal entries, etc, are put up and there is a fee for looking at this content. The site can also have special features like webcam chats, forums, members-only email, behind the scenes shots, discounts, promotions, etc. Many paysites are sexually-charged and are adult (meaning only 18+ can sign up to view the content). My paysite will include that, but with the style and work I already carry in my portfolio like on DeviantArt or ModelMayhem. I hope to bring my own kind of idea for a fetish-based website. For those who want to see every shoot I produce, design, participate in… my paysite will be the best place to get all of that. Its also for those people who want to view never before seen images of me, behind the scenes, videos of me, and chats. This paysite is highly recommended for anyone with a mosh-addiction (lol).

The reason I have decided to build a paysite is because it will allow me to let others view everything relating to my modeling and get to know me better as a fetish model. It also allows me to generate an income from my modeling. Some people dont realize that modeling costs me money, my outfits and props can become very expensive. This is my art, and I’d love to continue to share it with everyone, however like a painter who sells their paintings or a musician who sells their cds, I would like to receive a payment for my work as well.

Do you expect mostly men, women, or both to be on your membership list?

I don’t have a certain expectation for how many men or women join the site, I hope both will!

.

What kind of challenges you face? Anything in particular you dislike?

I do hate it when people book a shoot with me and then decide to either flake out a few days before without explanation, or even better, the day of. Otherwise, I love every aspect of modeling, especially since the kind I do allows me to have total control over my look, my ideas, and my wardrobe. Coming up with your own ideas and concepts can be a challenge at times but inspiration is everywhere so I usually pull through.

What precautions do you take to avoid dangerous situations?

As an independent model, I’m left to do my own booking and checks on references to make sure the jobs or photographers are legit. There’s a lot of scammers out there who are out to get your money or something else, so its definitely a risk you’re taking when you decide to be an independent model. However, as long as you check your references, use your judgment, and notify someone about your shoot when you have a new one set up, you should be good. Luckily I have no horror stories to tell, I’ve had mostly great experiences.

In your opinion, what are the qualities a good model should possess?

Professionalism and a responsible attitude. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen models my age or even older act so inappropriately. Physically? Be sure to keep yourself as fit as possible and stay healthy. Take good care of your skin, have confidence, and know your stuff.

What is the best part about being a woman?

To posses and express feminine beauty through so many different things in life.

Thank you Mosh for sharing with us! You are a true inspiration and I am happy our paths have crossed. :D | TheMoshRoom.com |
