Yesterday we drove down to Philadelphia, PA to shoot a promo campaign for My Beautiful Rocket, an orange lipstick from the upcoming collection. Model Audrey Kitching & myself were photographed by Steve Prue in a make-shift rocket made out of chairs (stuff will be added in post-production).
The concept: a girl gets her very first rocket, similar to how we get our first car. It’s shiny, bright orange, and oh-so-beautiful! Her and her friend go for a wild ride through outer space.
Amazing outfits were designed for us by Jeantrix Clothing Co.
Upon meeting each other, Audrey and I both apologized for not talking much. This was due to being tired and overworked (me from the jetlag, her from shooting 19 outfits in one day) but soldiering on anyway, haha. After the shoot, we talked about how we work too much, but when we stop something feels off. It felt nice to meet someone who could relate for once! Most people just tell me to relax.

My Beautiful Rocket set will be released in September. By the way, I decided that in addition to a story, each lipstick will have a themed photoshoot attached to it! What do you guys think?

Ooh, I love coming up with photoshoot concepts! I definitely think you should do a different photoshoot for each of your new lipsticks. They deserve it!

you two are my fashion idols and stuff.audrey’s hair looks in the first picture like cotton candy,the outfits are pure awesomeness and the concept is very unique.The photoshoot for every lipstick is the BEST idea EVER. I can’t wait to see them,and I know they will be extremely gorgeous and creative, just like you.

Honestly, I don’t like it. Maybe post-production will make it look better, but it looks a little lame to me. It’s over styled, and it looks like you’re trying so hard to be different to other brands, which distracts from the products.
But then again, maybe it’s just that I dislike the orange lipsticks…

Question, the blue rocket ship shoes shown in the accessories spread, what brand are they? Do you know where they can be purchased? I saw them in a store when they first came out, but I didn’t have the money for them at the time. Now I can’t find them anywhere. Help? Thank you!

i LOVE the idea for a photoshoot for each lipstick! its so imaginative and great! just like your eye shadows. most of them have a backstory such as “Circus Girl” or “Empress”. But if we have pictures of you modeling them…WOW~

Ooh! I like the idea of a photoshoot for each lipstick! *hyperventilates in anticipation* I am VERY curious to find out what the last colour will be…I actually had a dream about your lipstick (!!), and in it, the final colour was a shimmery aqua! I think it will be blue or silver though.
Alexis- methinks bright orange lippy would look HOT on dark skin! Doe’s makeup is definitely for The Unafraid! :)

I LOVE THIS! Audrey Kitching is my hero. She’s really the only celebrity type that I truly look up too. You’re one of my role models too. I’m hoping to get some stuff from Lime Crime (sadly I’m 16 and broke!!)and I can’t wait to wear it! You inspire me to push limits and not care what people think. Having a photoshoot for each lipstick is a great idea! xoxo
