Back in August the lovely Audrey Kitching and I did a photoshoot for one of my lipsticks called My Beautiful Rocket. The concept for the shoot was based on the story I dreamed up about a girl from the future who buys her first rocket, similar to how we get our first car, and takes her friend for a ride through outer space!
>>> See My Beautiful Rocket photos here! <<<
I have to say, this was easily the most fun photoshoot I’ve ever done. Audrey is a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with, if you can call wearing helmets and pretending you’re in space work that is!! Check out the candids or watch the Making Of video.
Our outfits were made by the amazing design duo Jeantrix Clothing Co.!
‘My Beautiful Rocket’ wallpaper
I loved the concept so much, I decided to make it into a wallpaper – I mean, what can be better than having a hot pink rocket blown up on your screen?? The post-production took forever but was well-worth it, and I really hope you like the finished result. :) By the way, this wallpaper is a limited time only download, so be sure to grab it while you can!

You have made your lipsticks look edible.
Have that wallpaper on my desktop. It needed a bit of sparkle.

I am one of your … tee hee … “older” readers (40 in January), and I just love your style and your attitude! :) I’m also a semiprofessional bellydancer and looking forward to my first LC lippie to try: Retrofuturist. It is *so hard* to find an unapologetic, straight-ahead red to wear onstage, let me tell ya! I have high hopes, however, for this color.
Now, I just have to find a reason to wear No She Didn’t … as if I needed one …

Yay for bellydancers! :D You’ll love Retrofuturist then – it’s just that, an unapologetic red!

This is by far my most favorite lipstick in the whole bunch!
My only problem is, to find eyeshadows that won’t make me look like a coloring box! I love this color! It looks great on olive skin tones as well! ^_^

The pictures look awesome! I NEED to buy My Beautiful Rocket. It’s at the top of my list for my next order. By the way, I’ve shown my LC lipsticks to some of my friends, and my male friends keep having the same response: The tube looks like a mini vibrator. haha I think the tube is fantastic.

Holy Shoe! This was the most amazing thing ever, because I just opened My Beautiful Rocket over dinner, left the dinner table to go apply and take some first draft pics, went back and finished dinner (and was sugar-coatedly amazed at how beautiful the orange lipstick stain was on the side of my teacup)–and then I came here and saw the shoot, which I’ve been awaiting with baited breath ever since your first post about it–def my fave shoot so far… so beautiful! I am, like, glittercumming in my pants. I think this one will stay my background for a while.
Thank you, Doe! Will post pics of My Beautiful Mouth tomorrow after school (our house has yellowy lightbulbs so nothing comes out the right color in photos at night!).
