Sorry this week was kinda boring – my wrist is in a brace again from mousing too much. Now that the website is up and running, I can get back to my ‘normal’ self again – dress-ups, colorful makeup, photoshoots, etc!
Next week I’d like to share something with you I’ve never shared with anyone before: my creative journey. I’ve been online since 2003 and as you can imagine, have racked up quite a resume! You’ll get a detailed overview of all my successes and failures, pictures & sounds, as well asĀ how I overcame difficulties and how those difficulties had helped shape me into the person I am today.
Deerlings: is there anything specific you’d like to hear about?

Aww, what an adorable photo! I love your eye makeup.
And I’d love to take a look at your creative journey! There isn’t really anything specific I can think of, it just sounds like it’d be fun to read [:
I’d be quite interested to hear your side of the story regarding all of the internet ‘issues’. And I’m sure you know what should be addressed and whatnot. I can’t see something as contriversal as that being left out of your ‘journey’.
It’ll be an interesting read though. Can’t wait!

I would also be interested in hearing your side of that story…
Also, have you ever tried out/considered getting a small Wacom tablet to use instead of a mouse? Someone’s probably suggested this to you before but I just thought I would too… the smaller ones can fit nicely on the side of your desk where the mouse would usually go, and some of them come with a compatible mouse as well.
They are so much easier to use than a mouse… I think I once heard someone say (or perhaps I’m just imagining it – but it’s true) that after using a tablet for a while, going back to a mouse is like drawing with a bar of soap!

I have a large WACOM, its about the size of a small lap desk and I LOVE it, I can’t imagine editing photos without it!

PS: The wacom pen never hurts my wrist, its like mousing/writing with a stress-less regular pen, and instead of your wrist being kinked at an awkward angle with a regular mouse, you can keep it straight. The pen even has a left/right click button on it. I have either carpal tunnel or nerve damage in both wrists/hands from mousing and using pliers in my jewelry design, and if you’re having frequent issues, I would highly second getting a wacom tablet.

Thanks for the recommendation Natasha, I actually already have one. It’s pretty neat! But I’m still handier with the mouse somehow; maybe I need to work on my pen technique!

I’m the same way, I have a tablet (not a very good one though). I can’t justify spending the money on a fancy one when I do so well with a mouse!

Sure, I’ll write about it. :)
What a cute hat, I love hats^_^
I just recently become a reader of you blog and enjoy reading it very much. I plan to start a blog after collage about fashion, books, movies, art ect and how they all influenced and inspires my style. So my question is can you talk about your creative process when you started your blog and if its changed since then? Okay thats like two questions in one, lol. Also maybe you can talk a bit more about what inspired or influenced you to create Lime Crime? Like for example why the name Lime Crime?
I am looking forward to reading about your creative Journey;)

Thanks Brittany. It’s already feeling a little better.
How awesome!!
I’ve been following the blog for a year, but it would be interesting to see kind of like… a timeline of your style, and what different things inspired you to create your style.. Your “evolution” if you will. :) Other things about your life (music, other endeavors) would be interesting, too!
please please please be a bit more careful with purple eyeshadow under your eyes. you look like you haven’t slept for a while.. [haven't you? (:] by the way i love your work and of course i’d utterly love to know how did you get there.
Oohhh, I am really looking forward to this!!! I am anxious to glean wisdom from your journey and love your silver lining viewpoint. Hope your wrist feels better soon!
I’d love to hear about how you have dealt with the internet rumours as well! For example, the Encyclopedia Dramatica article and how you have dealt with such hard hitting information on the internet. Do you think it will die out or is this something that you will have to deal with for a long while to come? Its interesting because its a new problem and asset for businesses – the public has never had such a strong voice since the internet came along, and this strong voice can work for or against companies. I’d be interested to hear your take on it and how future entrepreneurs should deal with it if such unfortunate and unwanted publicity should come along.

Haha, I might have to write an entire separate post! There is so much crap out there…
I LOVE the makeup in that picture! And that skirt, ahhhh! I am really looking forward to it, because your an inspiration to me Doe. Your strong to be able to get over internet issues and such.
I’d love to hear how you brought your makeup line from idea to what it is now and the evolution of your style.
Your personal history is sure to be a fascinating story. I’m looking forward to reading about the ambitions you had which fueled your various ventures.
your eye makeup looks beautiful!

Hehe, someone just told me I look sick in it – go figure!
I am old! I’ve been online since 1994, when I finally got my mom to buy me a computer after crafting a huge computer shrine on my wall. The internet was so different back then.
I’d love to hear about your first few online ventures and what made you decide to take that path.
I know, this is my third comment on here..
At any rate, I too have sifted through probably all of the crap out there about all these rumors and issues and honestly, as hard as they try to come up with some “solid evidence”, its really all just speculation and accusations. I’ve read everything and I can dissect nearly all of it. It doesn’t help that most of them actually seek out any new articles about you to intentionally slander your company. It’s incredibly irritating and very childish in my opinion.

Agreed! So childish!!
I don’t see how so many people love to band together and spam new articles with their “solid proof” (gossip and rumors) that they conjure up.. I don’t even think they’ve tried the products themselves – just reiterating whatever other people say or exaggerating the “cons”.
It’s not even just Doe – so many YouTube gurus have threads that go on and on the same way… People are just so eager to hate on everyone and talk crap when they have no place to do so.

I agree as well I have looked up and read a lot of those rumors and find them without merit.
You know that saying “some people talk just to hear their own voice” Well I like to say when it comes to the internet “Some people type just to see there self on a screen”

True. It’s an Internet phenomenon that has nothing to do with Doe. Giving damaged people a forum to display their warped view of the world results in much ugliness.
I can’t get enough of those shoes! I’ve gone looking for them a few times to no avail. Do you have a direct link to them? I know you linked to the shop before and I didn’t see them…
this mean youre going to dig up all the old photos of you in lime green and neon pink from ages ago? youve always had the most adorable styles.

Hmm. I’d certainly liek to know how you chose what colours to produce. Were they ones you simply couldn’ find elsewhere, etc.
I hope your wrist gets better! I find applying Tiger Balm also really helps.
LOve your eye shadows, Is that Siren?

Do you remember we had a color called Vixen? It got discontinued pretty early on, I was never happy with its consistency, but I still had some left. :)
I’d like to hear about you when you first came to America…was it hard to adjust? And also about how you figured out what you wanted to do career wise. I am about to be a senior in high school and I feel like I need to plan my life out. (School teachers and counselors have been pressuring me since freshman year.) I don’t have any idea of what to do after graduation. It’s overwhelming. I can’t wait to read about your journey!
Thing thing that would really interest me is if you were to write about how you used to sew DIY fashion. I’m just starting to learn how to sew, and have a huge love for anything DIY! :)
Did you skin and kill a muppet for that skirt? The eyes look lovely though. xoxo
Get better soon (with your wrist)!!~
I can’t wait to see your creative journey, I am sure I’ll see the evolution of when you did clothing on eBay, until now – your make up line!
Could you talk about the start of your makeup line and the things you produced and carried at first and have since been discontinued? Pictures too!
