INGREDIENTS
- Loose Glitter in dark red and gold
- Black and Gold cream shadows
- Black eyeliner pencil
- Liquid black eyeliner
- 1 star-shaped blue jewel
- Cranberry lipstick
Don’t worry, it only looks complicated. In actuality this is a pretty simple look! First I applied black mascara and black eyeliner on the inner rims on my eyes. Then sprinkled a lot of loose powder under my eyes and
on my cheeks, knowing that the glitter will be all over my face in about 15 minutes, heh heh. Take black creme shadow and create any shape around the eye with a brush. Pick up some deep red glitter with your finger and apply on top of the black eyeshadow while it’s still WET. That way, the glitter sticks and stays on for hours and hours and hours!
Do the same thing with Gold cream eyeshadow and gold glitter – only this time, under your eyes. Draw thin lines with liquid eyeliner extending from the outer corner of your eye toward the temple, and then another line underneath the gold. Let it all dry for a few seconds. Apply black eyeliner on upper lids thickly over the glitter (but not too thickly). Grab a big powder brush and brush off all the loose glitter from your face. Let’s do the skin!
Smooth, even complexion is essential for any look you’re trying to create. I see a lot of people doing their eyes, but completely forgetting about their skin! I get a lot of requests about how one can achieve a flawless complexion. My answer is always the same: FOUNDATION! Let’s face it, nobody’s skin is perfect (although this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take care of it). But a little bit of concealer here and there and some foundation will even out the redness and get rid of the spots. Always cover up and brighten the area under your eyes – even if you don’t think you have dark circles. Cause most humans do. When going for a dramatic look, I apply foundation all over my face including my nose and chin, and concealer under my eyes and on persistent spots.
Loose powder is also very important (I use the translucent kind). Pick some up on your brush, shake off the excess and brush on all over your face and neck. This will make your complexion really smooth but will also flatten it out. Here’s a little trick I do to get back the depth and add some sexy glow: apply darker blush under your cheekbones, blending into the apples of your cheeks. The actual blush color (pink, apricot, etc) goes on the center of the cheeks. And the highlighting powder goes immediately under the eyes blending into the cheeks! (Try Illuminating Face Powder by Retro Glow – available at pharmacies). Now you’ve got yourself a glowing complexion! =D
For touch of magic, a blue star jewel on one cheek. My eyebrows are almost non-existent so I can do whatever I want with them. In this case, I completely ignored their natural shape and drew on some long, dramatic ones with a black pencil. If you have darker eyebrows, you will have to work with their shape. Try filling in where needed and extending them outwards with a black pencil.
Draw outside your natural lipline for full, luscious lips. Fill in with L’Oreal Glam Shine lip color in “Diva” and sprinkle some of that Rose Gold glitter on top for some extra shine! Voila!
