I’m becoming a big Nine West fan – their shoes are affordable, well-made and designs lately have been just superb. I was stocked to receive these bright yellow canvas booties in the mail and wear them on my trip to Coney Island (post about that coming later! :)).

Quality-wise, these are excellent. The top part and heel are covered in canvas; toes wrapped in yellow leather to protect the edges from getting dirty. I especially liked how they made the soles fuzzy for extra traction.

My only criticism is their walkability (yes, it’s a word now!). In spite of great cushioning and a comfy fit, a 4″ heel without a platform in the front will turn you into a cripple and have you begging for a motor chair within 15 minutes! This may not be true for larger sizes (the smaller the foot, the lower its high-heel tolerance) but my 7.5 size feets pretty much said ‘nuh uh’ by the time I got to the subway. Of course, beautiful things often require sacrifices and I was more than willing to make one for these babies. ;) Besides, there is some room in the foot so I’m thinking of padding them to elevate the sole and de-extremize the angle a little. Oh, the things we’ll do for beautiful shoes!

Doe Deere rating: out of 5.

I wore them with this.
