Smokey Eye in green

Category Makeup Tutorials

INGREDIENTS

  • Skin stuff (concealer, foundation, powder, blush)
  • Dark green loose glitter
  • Dark green, charcoal gray and black powder eyes hadows
  • Hand lotion
  • Dark green eyeliner pencil
  • Black liquid eyeliner
  • Skin highlighter
  • Black mascara
  • Nude lipstick
  • Nude or clear lip gloss

I definitely recommend doing the eyes first, due to the unavoidable glitter mess. Apply eyeshadow base or just foundation with a sponge over your eyelids. Put on black mascara generously on both lashes, sweeping the lower lashes outwards. Line the waterline with dark green pencil, concentrating on the inner corners for catlike effect.

Dark green powder eyeshadow goes on all over the lid. Now pick up some black eyeshadow and apply to outer corners, blending into the green. Dark gray eyeshadow is applied in and above the crease and extending outwards, blending the black and the green together. Line lower lid with gray shadow using a thin brush.

This should look pretty cool already but we’re going to give it some extra zing with glitter! Dab on plain hand lotion with the tip of your finger right on top of the eyeshadow. While still wet, apply dark green glitter
with a medium brush. When finished, draw a thin line with black liquid liner as close to the lashline as possible.

Bust out scotch tape and pick up all the glitter particles that fell under your eyes. Scotch tape is also great for correcting and evening out any imperfections in glitter application

Ok, now that your skin is clean and more or less glitter free, let’s clean and moisturize it. Apply foundation and concealer with a sponge, blending well. Don’t forget the area around your mouth and nose. Concealer under the eyes. Top off with a thin layer of transluscent powder. Apply your favorite blush to the apples of your cheeks and bronzer if you like. I like using shimmering highlighter powder on the under-eye area to achieve that fresh complexion. Oh and I accentuated the inner corners of the eyes with a touch of that, too. (use a small brush). Apply nude lipstick with a layer of sheer gloss on top. Voila!

The brunette-smoky green look is really sexy on you. I’m a redhead at heart (and on my head) but figure i’ll have to try going dark brunette someday. I love the make-up I’m always drawn to emerald shades.
