Tales of the Unicorn Queen

Photography: Steve Prue

These are from our first meet-and-greet in New York, back when I still had long hair. :) I got to wear the most stunning white & pink gown by New York Couture. I felt like a princess!!! Huge thanks to Cassie for hooking me up. :D

In other news, I was recently named ‘Inspirational Woman’ by the British mag  So Feminine. Read an interview here!

    Hi Doe!

I’ve never left a comment before, but I really want to say something! I check out your site every day with so much pleasure, you’re such a beautiful and inspiring person to me. I’ll follow your site ’till the end, oh and it’s good for my English because I’m Dutch! :D Thanks so much for the effort you put in you gorgeous site, you do an awesome job on it!

Thanks Birgit, it’s so nice of you to say. :) xoxo

Maybe I should submit a formal “to Doe”… and do feel free if you’d rather I email you… but I was wondering if you can do an article on advertising. I think having a great product is great but I believe it doesn’t matter how great of a product you have if people don’t know about it. So if you could write an article on how you went about marketing and advertising Lime Crime (and other ventures :)) I think that would be great for us that are just starting with selling our own stuff etc.

You look great in these photos… and LOL on the guy behind you in the third photo.. He is TOTALLY looking your way. haha.

Well, if you have any specific questions, do send them along! It’s been a while since I did an interview by a reader anyway :)

  • Jonna says:

Lovely pictures! Your dress is amazing ♥

  • Diana says:

    Gorgeous post!

    Also..

In the last one, it looks like an illusion or something..like you’re sitting on a chair but it looks like you’re floating. Is there some sort of special effect used?

    Doe Deere Reply:

The white wall behind me sort of protrudes into a little porch. But, of course, because of my dress you can’t see it!

  • Luna says:

Mark is so handsome. Lucky girl.

But isn’t it cold wearing a dress in may? It’s still freezing here in Norway!

    Doe Deere Reply:

We had a couple really warm weeks here in NY, now it’s back to yucky-cold. :\

  • Zane says:

you and Mark are quite the pair! :) I love your shoes, and what nailpolish are you wearing? I’m a nailpolish addict!

    Doe Deere Reply:

  • Lorna says:

Damn you! I’ve heard so much trash talk about you since I first heard about Lime Crime. I’m nosey and have to know EVERYTHING. But, why is it that I still visit your blog and LOVE your pictures?

You know, if I were to ever be in your area, I’d DIE to get a photoshoot with you!!! :)

Hope you are having a good day.

    Doe Deere Reply:

Because all the trash-talkin’ can’t get in the way of my awesomeness. :)))

  • Lorna says:

Oh and I love your articles, too. I bookmarked a couple. Hehe.

  • Jenarcissist says:

Loooooove your dress!!!! And the tights, and the shoes, and the nail polish, and everything, of course! I think it’s funny how the guy in the background with the stroller and the dog is looking on like, “Who the heck are those people and what are they doing?!” I wouldn’t think you’d get much of that in NYC!

    Just lovely, as always!!

    Doe Deere Reply:

Oh, sure, you get all sorts of reactions here in NY. :) At least no one is throwing stuff hehe.

  • Kiersten says:

    I love the tights!

  • Rickey says:

I love the dress, and when I saw the tights with it I practically died of glee! THAT is what I call gorgey mcporgey! Just completely lovely, and I am officially inspired to get sewing!

Doe, I was getting my hair done today and saw a lime crime piece in a UK tabloid called head. It was hot beauty picks for summer and had a picture of Cosmopop with a caption that said “Finally Rhianna’s favorite lipstick is available in the UK. Get it at Space NK.” Just thought I’d let you know! :)

  • Alyse says:

I just love the shape of your eyes. (just saying)

  • Kristi says:

just thought i’d stay there’s a bit too much photoshopped light in the last one..

  • Lisa Kristin says:

I just wanted to give a little salute to Mark for seeming like the most supportive man on earth! Salute!

Anyways, I saw you at SpaceNK Duke of York Square in London, and still remember it with awe (: If you check out my blog, the two most recent posts feature your lipsticks. They’re truly wonderful! Lasts for ages!
