Style Diary: Pink = Power Color
Category: Style Diary
I don’t know about other business women, but for me, a strong pink is my ‘power’ color. I feel most confident and in control when I’m wearing fuchsia – whether it’s a dress, tights, or a coat. I like to accent it with black & white patterns such as ermine, and throw in some red, purple, or turquoise accents for good measure.

Yep. Totally wore this to a meeting with a prospective lab partner!
- Coat: vintage
- Faux ermine collar: my favorite new accessory!!! From upcoming Russian Royalty upcoming shoot, as styled by Leonid Gurevich
- Purse: Forever 21
- Boots: Nine West (kinda wish they were white to anchor the collar)
- Skirt: ModCloth
- Tights: We Love Colors
- Glasses: Girl Props
- Lips: Lime Crime Countessa Fluorescent
Deerlings: what’s your power color?

Blue or purple. Where did you get those bright red socks/stockings?

Red. Easily. But Green is a close second. I tend to wear green more often, but when I wear red, people tend to know not to mess with me. There’s something just so dangerous and seductive about it.
Actually, come to think of it, I wore a lot of red my senior year. One of my friends was once quoted asking, “Does Shea ever NOT wear red.”

Mine is probably red. I’m a brunette so I think red makes me look pretty intimidating. I like to pair it up with black–black skirt, pants, boots, whatever.

Hmmm..I adore the pink..but I’d have to say a bright, vibrant red.
Even just looking at your outfit in the picture..the red catches my attention and stands out the most.
It’s kind of like a “look at me! I’ve arrived! I have something to show the world with my brightness and boldness!”.

Black. I know that’s boring, but there’s something commanding and mysterious about black.

Black=confidence. I know so many people that opt for a gray or brown suit over sleek black.

I’d have to say my “power color” is purple. It’s not as girly as pink, and it’s not as overpowering as red. It’s that nice in-between shade that represents luxury and opulence and (of course) royalty. ;)

Purple and black! even red as well. I love it when someone can look at a colour like purple and nothing comes to their mind right away, they have to think about it. it’s an interesting colour that I feel is overlooked sometimes. but I love it, it just suits me perfectly.

I’d have to say, as of now, I’m really leaning towards a mix of black, white, with bold pops of lavender/lilac. Like a white ruffly top, paired with a high-waisted black pencil shirt, and lavender tights. When I think of all those colors together I get a sense of mystery, old-school class, calm assertion, and artistic passion. A level headed person who’s got it all together and can get things done effectively and effeciently! Which is exactly how I’d want to be seen! :D

My power color would definitely be a bright orange. Its so bright you cant help but feel confident and happy! But its so hard to find attractive orange clothes. So I tend to wear my backup power color fuchsia.
And just so you know you are like my hero. I want to be as strong, colorful and gleeful as you are!

My power color would have to be a teal or turquoise. I love any shade of blue, really. I feel gorgeous in it, even if it doesn’t go with my hair and skin. (:

Yellow!
Some people have such a violent dislike of yellow that it saddens me, but it always cheers me up! I always feel great when I’m wearing something yellow, and I always appreciate seeing other people wearing this under-appreciated color, too. There’s nothing to be afraid of, really, it’s just a happy little color!

I LOVE yellow! I know the cardinal rule is black=serious but I pair my suits with a sunny yellow purse. The trick is to balance the whimsical color with a sturdy and traditional style bag.

PURPLE! Not only is it my favorite color but its also my birthstone. Eli is actually my nickname (said as Ellie) which is short for Elizabeth, which is linked with the word royalty as is purple. I like to say everything purple is mine, everything else can be painted or dyed!!! LOL Even the walls in my room are painted purple! I am just drawn to it!!!

Definitely black and royal or midnight blue, especially when worn with dramatic makeup and faux lashes! My birthstone is a sapphire, but I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it, I just love deep blue in everything from my clothing and makeup to my phone, my laptop, even my electric violin!

Super outfit!
And pink looks powerful on you. As contradictory as that may sound, this bold color conveys both femininity and strength.
Love the tights. I’ve started to buy all mine from We Love Colors after other bloggers raved about their selection and durability.

Everyone has said red…all my power feelings come from my underwear!
I have a sassy black, purple and orange set that look amazing and are so comfortable…I feel I can take on the world.
You look amazing; whoever said redheads can’t wear pink was talking out of his ass. I’m a redhead too…we are fierce in pink.
Keep up the good work…you’re such an inspiration! <3

Pink is it for me. I love all shades but especially the softer more bubblegum, kind of Barbie shades. I love to wear pink and athletic gray – obviously some bizarro 80′s holdover. In fact I am sitting here typing this in a pink t-shirt that matches some pink polka-dotted undies!

I’m waaaay late commenting on this, but I thought it was worth it anyway.
My power color is hands down electric blue! I used to have half n’ half Cruella De Vil style hair (all teased up and crazy) in half electric blue and half black. I miss it. It made me feel sexy.
It also makes me feel sexy when I’m wearing bright blue metallic eye shadow complemented with a a pearly pink lipstick.
My new favorite item now though — since my hair isn’t blue anymore — is my electric blue sheath dress I picked up at Target! I top it off with a tight black belt under the bust and opaque black capri leggings and black pumps.
No color makes me feel more excited to be me!
