Auxiliary Magazine, February 2010
When I was doing an interview with Auxiliary magazine, I didn’t expect to make the cover. Even though it’s my second one (first cover was with Lipstick Royalty), it’s always a mixed feeling of excitement and extreme humility. It makes you wonder, is what I’m going really that noteworthy?
One look at the photos from the collaboration between Emma Bell, Steve Prue and Kristin Jackson, and it becomes clear that it’s not me. It’s the team. With a group of talented people like this, how can you lose? I have been extremely fortunate to befriend and work with some of the best talent in the industry: models, makeup & hair artists, photographers, clothing and accessory designers. One thing all these people have in common is they are passionate about their craft and will plow through snow, rain, black ice, severe illness, just to make the shoot. They’ll be there, and deliver stellar results on top.
I wanted to thank everybody who has collaborated and supported Lime Crime throughout the years. I would like to especially thank bloggers and publications – it means equally a lot to me to see Lime Crime on the pages of Nylon magazine as it does in a small blog mention! This month, a lot of good press is coming out about LC, which I cannot wait to share. In the meanwhile, I would love for you to read the February issue of Auxiliary magazine which, aside from my interview, also features a review of the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA, a no-sew DIY guide, Emma Bell, Lovesick Corsets, Shrinkle, and much much more.
Love,

Congratulations on getting the cover! What an honor…You look beautiful!
Glad you’re pleased with the interview.
If you look back at old issues of Aux Mag.
(Let me reference which ones), I have also made mention of Lime Crime products in:
-February 2009′s issue(Siren Magic Eye Dust and Transilvania Glitter)
-April 2009′s issue((Empress Magic Eye Dust and Elf Magic Eye Dust)
-October 2009′s issue(Circus Girl Magic Eye Dust)
-December 2009′s issue(Treasure Chest Magic Dust)
Holy crap, that’s a lot of Lime Crime :)

No, I sent the interview questions to Jenny and she sent them to you, since I have been battling a computer virus the week I was supposed to do the interview(not to mention my move to Washington DC from New Jersey). I submitted the accompanying article in the 11th hour after getting my laptop back from “computer chemo”. I also did not know it was going to be a cover story, but was pleased to find out that it was :)

Computer chemo, haha! Well I’m glad to hear you’re back online. :)
And so it has come to my realization that I spelled my name wrong.

Haha, happens to the best of us – I once misspelled my own name in a VIDEO!
I kinda wish there was more of the hand or that the hand was not there at all, but other than that this is a fantastic photocover!
wow, congratulations! :] you look amazing. i really like how you did your makeup.
What a fabulous article!! I just finished reading it and was so inspired by your pictures and interview. Hope to see more of you on more magazines and articles.

Thank you sweetie! I love Auxiliary and it’s a huge honor to be a part of it this month.
I wanna be a supermodel superstar
And posing on the covers
Here and near and far
I wanna go around the world
In diamonds and pearls
And make the boys fall apart
Yay! Go us!
great article! This occupied my time during a test! The best moment was when a student walked behind the desk to ask about a certain question and said “Holy Crap! That’s some awesome makeup, where can I get lipstick like that!” I had to laugh and was shocked to realize that I left my cards in my other purse! Oh the shame! Oh well, I told her your site, but the kids have learned my shameful secret…i love color! Oh well, that just gives me more street cred!

This may sound wierd, but I actually have a maths exam tomorrow and this totaly erased every nervousness I had left!
Hurray!!
Go Doe! Go Doe! Go Doe!
I just finished reading the your article! the whole magazine, actually :) especially the feature of Tim Burton as well.
I must say you are a shining star! you are so honest and have such grace and style. your mention of Rihanna caught my attention too because in her new video “Hard”, it looks like she’s wearing one of your lipsticks, but I’m not sure. you should take a look. I’m 1/4 Bajan so I support her!
anyway, thanks so much for the continuous inspiration! also we need Lime Crime here in Trinidad!!!
Great article and congratulations to you!
Wow, that’s awesome! Congrats indeed.. you look amazing, like a rock star :)
Congratulations! That’s a beautiful shot of you.
Congrats, you are beautiful and the team did a great job! I can’t help but wonder, what is this lipstick?
I’m not sure where I can get this magazine in Canada but I will try to get my hands on it :)
You look fantastic, congrats on landing the cover. I love the star & the dark lips… really awesome against your hair.
Congratulations!
I’ve been following you for a long time (think Lime Crime on Livejournal!) and it’s really exciting to see your makeup line take off.
Love it! Congratulations!
Congratulations! That’s so exciting! Let this be the second of many covers to come.
Congratulations Doe. I’m so pleased that your line is getting more attention. I just recieved my limecrime order in the post today (it arrived in under a week and I live in Australia!) and I was very impressed with the quality and price. Make-up is very expensive here, especially if you want quality.
Shrinkle’s awesome :)! congrads on cover
