I loved Betsey Johnson’s prom collection from 2008, and been lusting after the dresses for years. When the opportunity presented itself to finally get my hands on my Dream Dress, I POUNCED!
Isn’t it magical?? I love the iridescent blue color! My head is spinning just imagining all the styling possibilities which will most definitely include lace gloves, unicorn necklaces and sparkling shoes!
Here are a few of my favorites from the collection:

I’m on it! Just have to go through all the questions :)
I found my dream prom dress when i was prom dress shopping. It looked a lot like the the yellow dress above.except i refer to as Cinderella gone modern. It was the Cinderella blue, strapless with tons of sparkles and poof. I fell in love with it. The only problem was that it was a size too small and they could not ship my size in time. It was sad but I always remember that dress.

What a heart-breakingly sad story. :( Maybe one day you’ll be reunited with your dream dress!
My dream dress is one I have had for three years, when I first entered the Forest I bought a long brown dress that I wore all the time. Now the dress has been cut up, patched, and has leaves dangling from the ends! I wear it all the time, in fact, looking back I wish I’d have worn it to meet you!
Anything by Betsey Johnson is a dream dress to me. I adore her.

I concur! :)
I love her dresses too. Every time I see them at a great price though my size is sold out. I shall have one one day though.
Prettty much any dress by Ian Stuart (the bridal designer) is a dream dress.
Though he made one with an empire cut, slightly evasé, obviously white and strapless, then with a whole Victorian neckline all made of lace from the bust up. Not particularly well explained, but GOD. That almost made me regreat my decision of getting married in a HUGE ballgown. :)

I’ll be making my dream dress for my senior prom this year. I found the perfect fabric for much of it at Joanns this year; it’s a lightweight, semi-sheer black fabric with roses in a dark blue glitter all over. The dress itself will be strapless, with a boned bodice. The main bodice will be a dark blue to match the glitter, with a swath of the fabric around the top. The skirt will be drop-wasted and gathered out of the glittery, which will drape nicely straight to the floor, but have lots of movement as I walk/dance.
Very 90s the style of those dresses i think. love them.
Just about any Valentino dress will do as a dream dress pour moi :D
love the hot pink and black dress! wish I could have a prom do-over … i borrowed one from a friend because i was poor :-(
Hey Doe, I was watcing a trailer for Sucker Punch, and the main character “Baby Doll” looked so familiar, then I realized you two bare a resemblance! Haha, you should check that movie out, it’s right up your alley :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucker_Punch_(film)

That’s because she’s played by Emily Browning, who I’ve been told looks like me. :)
I love that dress!! Can’t wait to see it on you. It’s so “you.” And it will even match your hair if you re-blue it! And that guy looks like Zac Efron.
I wore my dream dress in my wedding last month that was custom-altered. I wish to live in it ALL the time. :) It was surprisingly comfortable and yet structured.
I’m reminded of my dream dress when I was a little girl. One of my brunette Barbies had this glittery cobalt blue evening gown that I was in love with. When I was five years old, I remember praying to God at night that I would wake up and that dress would be hanging in my closet. lol At my high school prom, I wore a pretty similar dress, though sadly without the glitter. :)
Hello, hello! Doe, I wanted to show you something! :D

I did a photo shoot with your lipsticks. I love how they turned out. :)
On another note, I had a REALLY weird dream about you last night. I was in a department store in the UK and I saw a mannequin of you upstairs. So I told the person I was with I had to go and see you. I got upstairs and a bunch of people were setting up a really artistic set. I can’t remember the rest!
Oh those are amazing! I’ve been making dresses lately and that is exactly the look I always want. The world needs more plus-size fantasy dresses!

I want someone to make that for me one day~
Other than that I don’t have one yet~
:3
btw, I saw you made the cover of FAE mag! Congrats!
-F.
One made at Dior.
Oh, gosh. I adore all of them! Especially the puffy one that looks like a cupcake. Betsey Johnson is so magical. They all make my actual prom dress I wore years ago so laaame.
Betsey Johnson is incredible! I LOVE LOVE LOVE her clothes. I’ve decided that if I ever get married, it’s going to be in a big, poufy, flirty, awesome Betsey Johnson dress. I got to try one one once in a local store, and I’ve never felt MORE like a princess than I did. I was so glad that the lady in the store let us take pictures — I’m a student and I don’t have $500 to spend on a dress, no matter how gorgeous it is. Heck, I don’t have $100 to spend on a dress. But I love me some Betsey Johnson. I think we’re fashion soul mates.
Right now my dream dress is this one from Candy Violet: http://www.vivcore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=VC&Product_Code=CV03-014&Category_Code=2CV_DRESS_SETS I can’t wait to see you in your new dress! It’s absolutely gorgeous.
I have two dresses I love…
This one: http://weheartit.com/entry/3457351
Imagine actually wearing this! ♥
And this one: http://www.edressmeprom.com/jovani-prom-4318.html
The second dress literally took my breath away when I saw it for the first time. Love at first sight maybe? :)
I have a vision of getting married (I’m not even dating anyone currently) at the courthouse in a mod vintage lace shift dress from the sixties. Long sleeves, short skirt. I know one day I’m going to come across the perfect dress in a dingy thrift store and I’ll have to snatch it up and then hang it in the back of my closet until the day comes.
Beautiful dresses! I especially like the second blue one! looking forward to seeing you in your new dress!
Yumm! I’d wear that.
My dream-dress has always been a big, fluffy gown with lots of petticoats and pretty detail around the bust. There’s a store near me (amusingly named, “Estelle’s Dressy Dresses”) which has such clothes but I’ve never had the courage to shop there. I can’t go in alone. Maybe I’ll enlist a friend sometime to help me…
For me, I’m part of the lolita fashion community! Dream dresses are almost a growing part of being part of the fandom, since so many dresses are dreamy. Mine currently is this dress: http://www.angelicpretty.com/shopping/item/jsk/102j7-2535/rd.jpg
Can’t wait to see you wearing it Doe! <3
I’ve got to say that my dream dress hasn’t shown itself to me, yet.. but I love dark corsetted dresses, or those knee-lenght and a tight waist with short sleeves (which are surprisingly hard to find.
My dream dress would be an ankle-length, sturdy black dress with a high neckline and fabric draped over the shoulders that conceals the shape of the bust and upper back of the wearer of the dress. That dress would be fitted (but not tight) around the hips and upper thighs of its wearer.
I’m definitely in love with dresses like that! Super sweet cotton candy colors and glitter and cute poufy skirts.
That dress is amazing. Can’t wait to see pics of you wearing it Doe!
Looove that pink dress on the bottom right with the teeny aqua angora cardigan. So cute!
My dream dress is a gold velvet cowl neck dress by Twenty 8 Twelve! This is the dress: http://mytheresa.s3-external-3.amazonaws.com/products/newlist/370_5314_006.jpg
My runner-up would be a this cute number from Betsey Johnson. http://www.betseyjohnson.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4441541
But I wish it was white on black instead of black on white.
i wore the pink and black one to my prom! With a studden waist belt and black platform heels. It will always be one of my favorite dresses.
oh yeah, i forgot my dream dress! its this magical dress by Elie Saab, my design idol.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_q3Rl26Q_zdI/Sw7iv1E76_I/AAAAAAAABxg/ZnlXEZ2vuxA/s1600/mischa.jpg
If it was white and not impossible to find I’d make it my wedding dress!
My dream dress is a Betsey Johnson creation for sure!
This had been my dream wedding dress: http://cgi.ebay.com/Betsey-Johnson-Evening-Mini-Tea-Party-Dress-4-Lavender-/300488414905?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item45f68156b9
But when I tried it on, it wasn’t flattering at all! :(
So I ended up with this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Betsey-Johnson-Cotton-Tape-Woven-Lace-Tiered-Dress-Sz-4-/300488282081?pt=US_CSA_WC_Dresses&hash=item45f67f4fe1
Not as colorful as I had imagined, but the dress looked perfect!
the one on the top right IS my dream dress.
i’ve been obsessed with that dress for years..
:(
<3
My dream dress is a silk leopard print dress, with a sweetheart front, fitted body and a mermaid bottom.
One day I will find someone to make it for me, until then I shall just dream of it….
ohmygosh, betsey johnson is my favorite!! =) I wore one of her dresses for homecoming, it was silver and sparkly and adorable =D
Those dresses are beautiful! Congratulations on finally getting your hands on your dream dress. I can’t wait to see a picture of you in it.
I’m a huge fan of Betsey Johnson. My prom dress was from her Fall 2005 line, and it was pretty much perfect. I found it in October of my senior year and fell in love. I went to look at it again in January and it was marked down by $200(!) because it was “last season’s color”. The sales associates were wonderful; they called every single Betsey Johnson store in the US until they found my size. haha
Here I am at prom:

My current dream dress, however, will never happen–it’s $12,000. :( It is a wedding dress by Rafael Cennamo.

MINE TOO!!!
I never went to prom.
But if I had, it would have been in a little number like that fuschia dress! LOVE.
And a black veil fascinator, some lace gloves, and even though it didn’t exist at the time, Centrifuschia lipstick.
It would have been amazing.
my dream dress is the dark blue one that Anastacia wears in the animated movie. it’s gorgeous, I think I will have someone sewing something alike to my prom! (would have made it myself, if I didn’t suck at sewing…)
Dear Doe,
I love Betsey Johnson!
