Tales of the Unicorn Queen

My favorite part of the living room: deers made entirely of glitter!

{{{ Inside the Unicorn House }}}

I finally uploaded some pictures of my unicorn house to my Flickr photostream. This is just a small glimpse at what my house looks like – more pictures to come!

I take my camera with me everywhere I go which results in a lot of photos, but I didn’t have a place to share them with you – until now! Lime Crime Flickr is where you’ll find free, exclusive content of me, my surroundings, things & people I find inspiring… Think of it as a sweet slice of extra GLEE!

I’m fairly new to Flickr, so any interaction to ease me into it is welcomed! Please feel free to add me, comment on the pictures, write a testimonial, recommend new people, etc! I’ve had that account since 2005 but barely used it so I’m looking forward to changing that and loading it up with lots of awesome stuff in the upcoming months!

I’ll leave you a testimonial, but you have to add me as a contact first!

How do I add someone as a contact?

    Ariel Grimm Reply:

go to my photostream and click ‘add as contact’…I think that’s how you do it. I read you can only add testimonials if there is a mutual friendship

All I can say is…I am on my way over with my bags packed!!!! Love your home, so inspirational!!! I feel like I need to go to the craft store ASAP!!!

  • Cat says:

eep! The geek in me is dying… the plural for Deer is Deer, not Deers! They’re cute though, i have large gold sitting raindeer in my bedroom.

    Doe Deere Reply:

*clears throat* Excuse me, I know what plural for “deers” is. :))) I am one! ;)

    Ellen Reply:

Ha, that irritates me as well.

    But yeah, they are cute.

  • Kaleen says:

Your house looks so cute! I especially love the panda mugs and the cupcake paintings.

I do have a question though. It seems very girly from these pictures, does your husband like it? Does he have a masculine area to himself?

    Doe Deere Reply:

I’ll have to have Mark do a special post explaining his position on this. ;)

Oh good! I was wondering about that too! :-) I with with two men and it is quite the bachelor pad! The ONLY sign that a girl lives there is the occaisional shoe or purse on the living room floor…

  • Jamie says:

LOVE IT! I’m so jealous, I’ve been living with people who have completely different tastes than I do for a while now, and I’ve been daydreaming about one day being able to decorate my own place!

  • Suzanne C. says:

OMG YOU HAVE THEM! YAY! I saw little glitter Doe s and Stags at borders when buying my Nylon Mag and thought immediately of you. It was as if they were made just for you! I was sad I couldn’t afford to buy them for you for an X-mas present It would have been so fun! I wanted the red stag to be Mark (it was the most bright and colorful stag) and you could be the little pink or blue (I was undecided) Doe. They were so pretty!

I’d wondered if you’d find some yourself and you did =)

    Doe Deere Reply:

How much were they are Borders? I got mine for $10 at a junk store. But, regardless of how cheap or expensive, I love them to death. :)

    Suzanne C. Reply:

I don’t remember and it’s not on their website which is odd, you’d think they’d show all types of merchandise, they don’t even have a category for the trinkets, knick-knacks and stationary they sell. =?

  • Suzanne C. says:

Oh yeah I MUST comment on the photos.
Your flying pig keyhook thingy is to die for! Did you paint it that way? It looks like your work. <3 the Pegasus Key, I had a green Tree Frog key and I lost it =(

  • Flip says:

May I please move in and live with you! Im small and I don’t take up much room lol. Your house seems so utterly fantastic!
    I love it!

What about your doedeere Flickr account? Is that one no longer active?

    Doe Deere Reply:

    I don’t think I ever had one…

    Doe Deere Reply:

Oh wait, I do have one! Haha, me and those websites… Maybe that one will be for something else – I’ll figure it all out eventually.

  • Jas says:

I love your walls! I have pink painted walls, but they don’t look so great.

And are those heart measuring cups? They are so cute!

    Doe Deere Reply:

Yep, I love my heart measuring cups :)

  • Agnes says:

Love those older photos of you, remind me of your former homepage and the many photos there and suddenly also of that peculiar time in my life then, really cute!

  • I love what you have done with your house. It makes me excited to one day own my own apartment or house and decorate it! I bet all of us are hoping one day we could be on Trading Spaces or a show like that with you and you could flip our house. . . ^_^

  • Alison says:

Your home is like a dream! It looks so feminine and soothing. Very pretty!

This makes me want to figure out something to do to my bed room at home. I’m tired of white walls. I used to have a periwinkle room, but we moved a few years ago, and I haven’t gotten around to painting.

  • Zane says:

your home is gorgeous! the paintings especially reminded me of my room when i was little. I had pictures of bears with lollipops and ice-cream. Well done with those! You must get the most amazing warm feelings every time you’re home, and that’s what it’s all about :D keep shining!

  • Izzy says:

I’m also dying to know how Mark feels about living in such a feminine space.

I’ll be moving in with my boyfriend within the next year or so. Right now I’m in a dorm; I painted an uber-feminine fafi-inspired mural on the wall and it’s decorated with cute girly trinkets and bright colors.

He likes dark colors and his room is fairly grim looking. I have no idea how we’re going to mesh our styles and both be happy!

    Doe Deere Reply:

Maybe I can get Mark to write a little post how to deal with girly decor. Once he’s done with his exams that is, it’s his final semester!!

  • sol says:

your photos are lovely, and so are YOU!!

  • Devi says:

I saw some Christmas ornaments yesterday that reminded me of you! My local JoAnn’s has some mint green ornaments with hot pink glitter reindeer on them!

    Doe Deere Reply:

    That sounds lovely!

  • Remi says:

Oooh, soooo much cuteness! <3 Very fitting home for you.

I too would be really interested to know how Mark feels about it ;D

  • JennieB says:

Oh your house is so pretty! I wish my fiance would allow that!

  • Sistinas says:

    It’s all so pastel-tastic!! I love it!!
The other day I bought coloured cotton balls to decorate my room.. xDD
But only my room because my husband would burn everything if I’d do that with the living-room..
Which leads me to ask you.., how does Mark take all these glee? xDD

  • Rickey says:

Well, I think you should check out the user wisely-chosen and her rainbow hair on flickr. I’m about dying going through all her photos these past few days. Off to look at your pics!
