Unicorn in the snow
Category: Photoshoots

Photo: Steve Prue
{ Full set here }
If you remember, over the summer I constructed a very rainbowlicious outfit. Naturally, I wanted to shoot in it – and the opportunity presented itself when Steve & I got together to shoot a promo campaign for the lipsticks. Specifically: Airborne Unicorn!
I was envisioning something ethereal & slightly dark, kind of like that 80s movie Legend. I won’t lie, it took me forever to get ready – being my crazy self, I didn’t bring any help and ended up having to do everything myself! The goal was to transform myself, literally, into a human unicorn. The makeup was two non-matching rainbows stretched across my face and onto the forehead; hair was made to resemble a flowing mane. I accessorized with a candyfuturistic crystal ring I made earlier and some Japanese clear nail extensions. The whole preparation stage took about 3 hours.
The real magic erupted when I stepped onto the set and Steve’s assistant began throwing artificial snow over my head. Suddenly, I was no longer a girl dressed as a unicorn – I was a unicorn!! We all had an amazing time and produced images beyond our wildest imagination. In my book, this is how it’s supposed to be!
Deerlings: if anyone wants to make a wallpaper out of this, I’d be happy to feature it in our Downloads section. Download hi-rez file here.

I think this is probably my favourite thing you have ever ever ever done, which is definitely some high praise. I have to get some Airbourne Unicorn, I wanted about 3 lipsticks before, but now I’m going to have to save like hell, and get as many as I possibly can!

Absolutely stunning! I love the look and feel of the images! Especially all the sparklies ^_^ amazing!
I’m actually going to do a stock series with me as a Deer for a song by Amanda Palmer (I have to Drive). All I need is good, and realistic, or not deer horns that aren’t made out of felt.

That is absolutely amazing! The pic where you’re sitting down with your flowing red “mane” is my favourite. But of course you blowing on the “snow” is magical. It’s all fantastical really.
Will you do a make-up tutorial for us? I know it would be hard to recreate but i haven’t been able to stop staring at the eyes since you put the lime crime ad pic up on here. At least tell me what you used.

Wow, just, wow! What a beautiful shoot. It really is reminiscent of Legend (which just happens to be one of my favorite 80’s movies). The fake snow really makes it…the photos have this wonderful glow to them!

Diana – That’s the Heartschallenger truck, one of my favorite things ever! It’s run by an electro-clash band called Heartsrevolution. :) Really cool music! They sell Japanese toys, international candies, and vintage jewelry on that truck.

Gorgeous pictures, dahling! I especially love the new LC pic. I just got my love spell glitter today, although the green glint was not as prominent as I’d hoped, and I’m going to wear it to school tomorrow (which will be toned down considering that I wore a bride of frankenstein wig and zebra leggings today!)… so excited for My Beautiful Rocket- both the finished pics from the shoot and the actual lipstick.
Also, I know you’re under a lot of pressure from all of us right now, among other things (oh, yeah… you have a lfe!), so I wish you the absolute best of luck in pulling through to the best of times!

This photo shoot is lovely. You seriously awe me. And I took it on myself to muck about and make a wallpaper. It’s sized for 1280×720 px screen since that’s what I work on. But anyway…

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS.
Legend was my favorite movie as a child, but I could never remember what it was called.
It’ll probably make me late for class tomorrow and I don’t care – I know what I’m watching before bed.
