Thanks for your feedback – point taken! A lot of you are concerned with fragrance causing irritation, and while I would never release something that didn’t go through rigorous testing, I would rather you not worry about these things. Scent-free, it is – packaging will still be cute though! ;)

Scented products really irritate my skin. A lot of people are this way. Maybe candy-scented LIP primer?

  • Misa says:

Whatever you do, do not make ridiculous packaging like Urban Decay Primer Potion. It looks cute but you have to saw the thing in half to use all the product. Once you think its done it has so much left. Make it cute but functional. =)

I know exactly what you mean about the ‘wand’ packaging – you can never get the rest of the product out, I’ve been pretty frustrated with it myself. Ours will be different, I promise you’ll be able to get the very last drop!

    Ashley Reply:

I hope it’s either in a pot or a squeeze tube like Two Faced, I haaate wands so much. Bleh.

I think you could also have fun with primer by making it soft candy colored instead of scented, you know, maybe leave a soft blue sheen on your lid before your makeup? That I would looooove.

    Gillian Reply:

That’s actually a really great idea, giving the product a tint or sheen on its own. It almost sounds like it could be a primer/highlighter that way.

  • Devi says:

Why not just include a scratch ‘n sniff sticker on the lid? That way the primer itself isn’t affected but you can still include the candy scent!

    Natalie Reply:

This is a really unique idea, kudos! Call me childish, but if I see “scratch and sniff” stickers, I can’t help but scratch and sniff, and I’m going to be 25 :)

I love the idea, and would have voted yes, except my skin is more sensitive than most, and I’m not sure how it would react. I love how unique the thought of it is though. I noticed a couple comments saying that no one ever smells your eyes, but isn’t that the point? I still wear cute underwear even though no one ever sees them because it makes me feel better about myself. I like the idea of knowing that my eyelids smell good (as crazy as that might sound) even if no one else did. I think that’s a big part of what Lime Crime is, what CandyFuture is, and what GLEE is. Feeling good about yourself because of little things like scented eyeshadow primers and rainbow zebra panties.

    Yep. That’s it.

  • Miss Anna says:

Consider Guerlain, girls. All of they’re products are violet-scented and I think scenting a primer is just a lovely gimmick Doe would offer us, not in the meaning of a ‘perfume’, but in the meaning of loving the scent when you apply your base and the scent would fade away after a few hours anyway. So: YES

  • Sapphy says:

so when will this be out?? well, like available to buy on the website? =D

Shhhhh. Don’t tell anyone but it’s supposed to come out October 1. ;)

As A professional makeup artist im going to have to say that even the idea of scented eyeshadow primer is really terrible, like not trying to be rude but the eye area is extremely sensitive and should be treated with care, even if your skin isnt sensitive your eye area is and makeup on the eyes is already quite heavy for such thin skin tissue, so adding this to it isnt doing yourself any favours. please look after your face, its the only one your ever going to have to treat it with care and love and be extremely careful what you apply on your face, including makeup, as a makeup artist ive seen the damage it does and anyone in the makeup industry would never use a scented eyeshadow primer. primers dont just make the product last they also act as a protector for your skin separating your skin from the harsh chemicals in makeup, i would like to know how a scented primer is capable of this when its most likely got even more chemicals.

  • Ash says:

    How could I smell the eyeshadow when my nose is below my eyes? ;-;

  • Sarah says:

As a fellow entrepreneur I feel compelled to warn you that if you should release a scented eye product and it did indeed damage people’s eyes (as it very well could) at best you would lose some customers and at worst you would have a lovely lawsuit on your hands. If you really want to go in the frangrance direction, might I suggest lip or perfume balms instead? But not for the eyes, please Doe. I love you and your cosmetics, but this would be just asking for it and I don’t want to see your business suffer. :-/

  • Yoshi says:

I know it’s over. But I personally think the idea is adorable.

Maybe in the CandyFuture… both should be available? Since there were more yesses than no’s.

    ;D

    Lots of product testing?

    Do you mean animal testing?

    Doe Deere Reply:

Hi Liz! We don’t do animal testing. Each product needs to undergo certain lab tests to ensure it’s safe for use.

Xenia if you keep up the way your going your company is gonna go bust. You seem to be the laughing stock of the Internet.

    Doe Deere Reply:

That’s what the internet’s been saying that for years, hasn’t it… :) Seriously though, you can’t believe everything you read online, just like you can’t let it affect you. I’m a dedicated person — to my customers, to my craft, to the idea of putting a positive message out there. And if someone doesn’t like it… let them talk!
