Tales of the Unicorn Queen

What were you in the past life?

Category Inspiration

In my past life, I was a Cat Trainer. I traveled the world with the circus, performing with my 10 cats. Every night before the curtain call, I would powder my face and hand out treats to my kitties. “Now, now, Mr. Fluffingsworth. Be a good boy!”

I still love cats & the circus today.

In my past life i was a mermaid, who was able to come on land when ever i wanted and return to the see before sunset.

  • Sal says:

Not sure, but I startle very easily so I’ve always said I must’ve LEFT my last life by stepping on a landmine.

Doe, gave you a little shout-out yesterday: http://www.alreadypretty.com/2009/02/what-do-you-want-to-look-like.html

  • Ashley says:

Doe, did your cat get shaved like a lion? I want to do that to my kitteh in the summer time to get rid of her butt dreads.

I was either a sorceress or a witch in ages long past, specializing in holistic medicine and using the powers of nature to touch other planes of reality and spirituality. I lived in a mountainous valley surrounded by lush forest and took special care of injured animals.

  • Candace says:

    I was 2 things. I was a 1950′s house wife and I was also a 1950-60s movie star.

  • Alexandra says:

In my past life i was a Black Panther….FOR SURE! I have dreams about hunting sometimes and licking my giant black paws clean.

  • VictoriaX says:

I’m not entirely sure, but I do know that in my past lives I was always with the same guy; who isn’t the guy I’m with now. And I know that I was a duchess somewhere, and that I spent time in Venice.

  • Lauren says:

In my past life I was a ..fairy! I’ve been told I look like one alot.

  • Melanie says:

    An Egyptian queen.
    Proof

Either that or a tea merchant!

  • Rossi says:

    Dear Doe,
    That’s a very interesting profession.
I’ve never thought cats can be trained, I heard it’s only a myth. You must be very good at it :)

My mom told me I was a great leader in my past life. A Queen or something like that :)

That really explains a lot, since I do like being a leader, and I believe I’m good at it.

  • Red says:

You were a cat trainer…I was definitely the CAT. Dear lord, no one loves warm patches of sun, sleeping and pretending to hate and ignore people more than I. Also, I totally love to play with my food…

  • Melanie says:

PS. That doesn’t look like a cat to me!

  • Jo says:

I think I was in the circus too, I think I was a girl with blonde hair on a trapeze. And I wore red roses in my hair. And always wore white. :)

  • Dollface says:

I was a very flamboyant gay man, who was probably attempting to be a pop culture icon!

  • Kat K. says:

A flapper, a hippie, a witch, a priestess in Ancient Greece, maybe at the Delphic Oracle.

  • Jasmin says:

I think I was a Rocker in my past life…which explains why I am trying so hard to do it again in this one :D

  • Lola Batling says:

    Dunno…Tarot reading Gypsy most likely.
As a hypnotist I do past life regression.

  • elizae says:

I think I have been a rabbit. I love them so much and my first true love was a rabbit too! Yes, I had to be a rabbit!

  • Suzanne C says:

I really hope you mean circus’ without wild animals!? They go crazy living like that! The use of dogs, cats, really well cared for horses and well anything you can keep as a pet in a circus is pretty reasonable to me. Kitties and you in the circus is an adorable thought I just hope your past life circus was a cruelty free one ;).

Now for my past lives: Hmm well I’d like to think I was once a hippie. Just a fantasy i’m sure. I do however, really wonder if i lived during and was involved in WWII. I have a very eerie fascination and connection with it. The only family connection i know to have with it is a grandfather who was in the war but we aren’t close and I’ve only heard him talk about it once. I just have this really deep feeling of closeness to that time period and things i hear and learn about it. So I think If I lived at any time during the 20th century (besidedes the entire 90′s in this life) it would have beeen the 30′s and/or 40′s and most likely in europe somewhere.

who knows I’m a Capricorn-said to have many lives- I could have been burnt as a witch or a wild (sexually they had so little taboo’s) ancient Greek aristocratic housewife. Or an Amazon or ancient Gaelic warrior!

  • Tygenco says:

I think, in my past lives, I’ve been a gypsy, a negotiator, a nurse, a wanderer, a madame of a “house of comfort”, and I’m guessing that’s the last 200 years or so. All things considered, I attribute my constant drive to keep going to my background and the possible lives I might have lived before.

  • M says:

I was a really fat and lazy cat. Probably a rich one, too.

  • Megan says:

    I think I was a Geisha long ago….then a flapper. ;)

  • Shera says:

Based on my obsession with the original 1970s women who inspired the rock music by capturing the hearts of all the rockstars…I am positive I must have been one of the original groupie heartbreakers with my rocker love by my side. A true Sable Starr-like wonder of the day.

  • Susanne says:

a dancer, maybe in africa somewhere.. not my idea, but someone told me that once

  • Gaiya says:

I’m not quite sure… BUT I’m pretty sure I was a guy, artistic and good with his hands. Considering I do have some normal girl qualities now… maybe a gay one. haha; I probably had a harem.

I think I might’ve been a cat in another life too.

  • Gaiya says:

Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure I was a martial artist too.. I love it so much to this day! :P

  • veronica says:

I was Victoria Woodhull, the presidential candidate in 1872 (her running mate was Frederick Douglass) on the platform of Free Love, Short Skirts, and Vegetarianism.

Between then, and now, I may have been Jean Seberg as well.

And I was absolutely a humpback whale, at least once.

  • simi says:

I was definitely a geisha in a past life.I am so strongly drawn to them, and japanese culture in general.
And I know that I was a Spanish Flamenco dancer in another.
And in yet another, older previous life, I was Morag, a “witch” in scotland- skilled in herbal lore, with acute psychic senses.
I’m certain my baby daughter was a circus performer in a past life- one of those ladies wearing fishnets and feathers and sequins that stands on one leg atop a horse….and before that, she was a lionness :)

  • Jackie D says:

    A cat, for sure.
i know exactly how it feels to be rubbed behind my ear or lick my own butt. >.<

  • Kelsey says:

i was most definitely an eskimo. i hate the snow but i have to put up with it. i know how to bundle up.

  • emily says:

i don’t know much, but i definitely lived in a hot place. i would choose 102 degree weather over -2 degree weather any day.
and probably some type of performer, which comes out sometimes. which i LOVE when that happens. :)
    (great post, by the way!!)

  • Ivanna says:

When Kuklachev came to Detroit, I HAD to go. I loved that man and his cats to pieces my entire life and he continues to be this unique and awesome since the friggin 70s.

  • Sara says:

    I was a Suffragette!

  • Carrie says:

I’ve been told by a “psychic” that he could see me clearly as a southern belle. At least at one time I was rich. I certainly am not now :)

  • Liv says:

A silent movie star. I lived in early 1900′s Paris and ‘rubbed elbows’ with the likes of Rudolph Valentino and Mary Pickford.

  • Kaitlyn says:

In a past life, I was a rebellious flapper girl! ;)

  • Leana says:

In my past life I was a mermaid, swimming free with dolphins and whales and enjoying the sun whenever I wanted.

  • anna says:

In my past life, I was an extremely successful, interstellar, high-class prostitute on another planet, genetically engineered to physical perfection and utter subservience. I traveled between the stars at light-speed to cater to all my clients.

In another, I was a crazy bag lady who loitered behind grocery stores to wait for out-dated food to be thrown out. I lived in a landfill, in a house that I made myself, entirely of trash. I thought that it was a time machine.

  • After Cirque du Soleil tonight, I’m even more convinced I was a circus performer!

  • Sio Ni Muiri says:

In one of my many past lives, I was an actress in the 17th century, with red hair and a pretty face. Apart from acting, I would see men and service them. In the end, I was framed for a murder I did not commit, and hung by the neck until I was dead.

  • I am not sure what I was in my past life, but I do believe I had at least one (I am a believer in reincarnation anyway). I clearly remember and have many visions of drowning in an older car (roughly ’50s build… I was born in ’85 and never went into water with a car) and apparently, and when I was 3, my parents brought me to some place in the U.S. I had never been before (Salem, Massachusetts) and I knew my entire way around the city, giving them directions to places they wanted to go (and I’m not trying to claim I was a Salem witch… in fact, historically most of the witches were from Peabody, NOT Salem).

  • Felicia says:

    My past lives include…
An empathic Uranian (yes, that would be Uranus)
    A rebellious Atlantean princess
A spiritual healer in the time of Nero
A close attendant to Marie Antoinette
And I have reason to suspect I might have been present during the Holocaust.

Guess I’ve always had a Leo’s personality, always striving for the spotlight.

  • Contessa Leandra says:

I was probably a female explorer or archaeologist in the Victorian times. Not a famous one, but I got around… Maybe tagged along with my husband and then did my own thing.

Before that, I probably had an affair with a Greek god. I was a bright and kind mortal girl that liked red and amaranthos. He was most likely Thanatos, the god of death. My cheeriness overcame his dreariness. He could not resist me. Nope.

  • Shen-Shen says:

    A princess, probably.

  • Affreux says:

in my past life I was Alice :)
    I lived in a wonderland
    With a white rabbit
    and an adorble kitten!

  • diem says:

I’m pretty sure I was a pirate. I love everything that has to do with pirates. The thought of a pirates life and traveling all over the world on a ship makes me feel at home.
But I don’t think my pirate life lasted very long. My ship went down.

  • Emma says:

    I was a Samurai Princess =]

  • Kokkovirsi says:

In my past life.. I was a witch (don’t like the church still), and I was very powerful.. also, recently, I must have been a sami or native american indian, because of my “moving with the wind”-dna ;)

    cheers!

  • Paige says:

I believe I was a swing girl back in the 40′s. There’s something about old jazz and big band that I identify with on anther level.

  • Isa says:

I know I’ve lived many past lives before..
I was a fairy with the most beautiful wings who’d fly to see everything…A mermaid with the most bewitching voice…a greek mortal who’d tell all the stories of the Gods…A damsel who ran away to live happily…a lady who’d wear frilly dresses and secretly study all the things forbidden…A geisha who’d captivate any man when she danced, or simply moved…A pin-up girl who’d inspire all the other girls to be just as sexy…

I’ve been just about everything, living most of experiences

  • truepenny says:

Ooh. I definitely think I was a pirate, maybe in the early 18th century. I was the daughter of a rich couple, powerful in London society, and was kidnapped by pirates for ransom. I was never recovered, but didn’t mind because my society life was dull and oppressive. So I became a pirate, and had wonderful polyamorous relationships with several of the handsome pirate men on board. I was a very skilled sword fighter.

I was also most definitely a flapper at some point, given my fascination with the era. I think my flapper self was very free-spirited, more than I am now. She drank and smoked (I was definitely a smoker in a past life; it’s a miracle I’m not one now) and had relationships with both men and women. She was an absolute scandal, but basically a nobody, so no one cared. She also wrote poetic prose that was never published. She made a meagre living singing at speakeasies. She died young.

I would also like to think I was Queen Elizabeth. And probably a cat somewhere along the line, maybe in ancient Egypt.
