I chose flat, because 1. its great to mix with other colors for shimmer, and 2 because I’ve noticed how streamlined and sexy it can be when applied right. I love flat, because it contrasts with my more glittery persona.
When feeling sexy and wants some color, I cat eye the whole shadow, and let the eyeliner follow the shape of the cat eye to define it more. Then I do a basic matte lipstick with no gloss. Sometimes I soften the edges by applying some shimmer to the edging and moving it all the way to my brows to soften the look, but give me an ethereal effect too. Other times to soften the color I mix the flats with the shimmer, to give it a softer look, but I still have that shimmer nonetheless…I have to picture the way I wear it, because your Limited Edition Vixen was my all time favorite flat eye shadow
Glitter always wins every time for me, most of my make up bag consists of glittery eyeshadows & creams; and of course you can never have enough glitter!
If you made flat colors for Lime Crime, I would buy them! Glitter is for special occasions, pearl is perfect to layer onto flat colors. While I love your bold colors, I think there are many of your fans out there who would love some neutral colors too!!
The only thing I don’t love about your eyeshadow is the packaging! I keep my limecrime shadows in a separate plastic bag because they always leak and get stuck on the jar ridges when closing them. (Note: It’s been about a year since I purchased, perhaps you have changed the packaging by now, just thought I would share some feedback!)
:)
My comment is awaiting moderation? Wow… this place has changed. Okay, well, I was going to say that I also really like pearl/foil eyeshadows, but they’re less of a staple to me than the flat matte ones.

I wear a pearl tan everyday along with a brown eyeliner looks very nice as a fallback!

I prefer flat. It’s very easy to add sparkle over it if you want it shimmery.

Oh noes! My favourite, ‘glitter’ is not winning the race. I didn’t see that coming. Pearls? Really?

I agree–I’ve probably lost about half my love spell glitter just because it leaks out the lid… (that doesn’t make it any less beautiful, though!)

We did change packaging about 6 months ago to solve that problem. Pigments are hard to contain by nature but a sifter lid helps a lot!

And by the way, if you need any lids I can send them to you for free!

I like my eyeshadows flat so that I can mess around with combining them and using glitter on it’s own.
