When I discovered Gardens of Whimsy, it was love at first sight. April, the redhead you see in the pictures, hand-makes ethereal head adornments out of her home in Florida. Check out her Etsy store, most range $15-35.
The warm sun and the colorful clothings on the street…. and showing off my body in fitted clothing. lol; I won’t say I have a perfect body or anything… but it’s proportioned and can look gorgeous if I coordinate right :P

Oh my gosh, how can I pick one thing? Wearing dresses every day, cold treats, laying in the sun, having way too much free time (in a good way), and, most of all, my yearly trip to Long Beach Island with my family. Amazing food, spending all day in the water, and going to the beach at crazy hours of the morning, when it feels like you’re the only person in the world…it’s the best :)
I love the fruit you can get super-uper cheap at the grocery store! But I also love all the ice cream and snow cone shacks that magically appear as soon as the weather is warm enough!!
My favorite thing about summer is the sense that it is when adventures happen. That’s probably spillover from my days as a student, having a summer break from classes and studies and more time to explore and live without a specific goal to attain. But even as I’ve gotten older, the long hours of sunshine and warmth at dusk lure me out into the faint breeze and invite me to see for myself what’s out there, beyond my apartment. Maybe I’ll ride my bike into the sunset and find it.
Family, friends, and lots of swimming! I live about 7 hours away from most of my family, but we always go on one week-long summer vacation together, so summer means a whole week with my mom, dad, brother, and lots of close friends. For the last 20 years, we’ve been going up to a cabin in the Sierra Nevadas on a small private lake. We spend the whole week doing nothing but lounging around in the swimming hole, eating, fishing, and hiking.
My fav is the beach because i spend alot of time relax there eating ice creams :-)
My favorite thing about summer is eating a lime popsicle while walking around town in flip flops. My best memory of doing this was one summer in Seattle, when while walking a pirate ship float came down the street full of yelling pirates. I still have no idea why that happened but perhaps I had one too many popsicles.
My favorite thing about summer is AIR CONDITIONING! LOL It’s way too hot in AZ in the summer!
My favorite thing about summer is all the creative energy I get. Winter feels so dead and I don’t ever feel like doing anything, but once summer hits, I just wanna do/make things like crazy!
My favorite thing about summer is having the freedom to walk out of the house with nothing on but a pair of shorts, tank, and flip flops :)
I am super comfortable in the heat, and absolutely love being out and about amongst people and nature, and I find summer time is the best time to indulge!!!!
Oh and I LOVE Tropical smoothies ;) hehe, that too.
Random thunderstorms. And the smell they bring.
I love the time right before a summer storm. With the increasing amount of heat and humidity there are plenty of summer storms in store for me. You can practically smell and feel the eletricity in the air. I can’t help but feel like a Wind Goddess when the wind sends my hair into a frenzied dance as I watch the clouds rush by before a coming storm.

My favorite part of summer is nature! The weather is beautiful, flowers and plants are at their fullest, and it is the perfect time for barbeque’s, long walks, and picnics while enjoying the scenery with loved ones.
(Oo. I’ve known about her etsy shop for a couple weeks now. I love her stuff. I’m big into the nature kind of look. Like wood nymphs and elves.)
And the summer is great. I love to wear cute skirts and shorts. And my favourite pair of new shoes are these pewter coloured sandals. I wear them everywhere now!
I also live on the New Jersey shore so I get to relax on beautiful beaches and climb the jetty at my favourite beach. I love to relax and listen to the waves or step from rock to rock in a dance like manner. Day or night.
And my birthday is later this month. c: So there’s always that.
Swimming. I love swimming in the summer. I love waking up to the reflection of water on the ceiling in my room. I love staying underwater as long as possible and staring up at the sky. Sometimes it even feels like I can breathe under the clear water. I like going to different places, lakes and rivers, seas, and oceans and going as far out and just relaxing and letting the water take me.
I’m really an autumn/spring person since I don’t take kindly to heat, but I do like to be able to walk naked around house and to swim in the sea of course. Also I somehow love summer fashion more, its seems brighter and more free-spirited :)
My favorite thing about summer is that it is a time of rejuvenation for me. Reading and dozing in a hammock, swimming at my grandparent’s lake-house in the woods, and walking and collecting seashells along the beach are among the things that relax my mind and body.
My favorite thing about summer is when all the flowers bloom and all the buterflies fly around and you get up at 8 in the morning to make breakfast and eat it with all the birds chirping and the sun shining in the window!

My fav thing about summer is an odd one. Craft fairs, County fairs, random sidewalk summer sales, farmers markets, and other county-market/fair things.
There is nothing like wandering around a field surronded by makeshift stalls and sorting thhrough piles of stuff and finding treasure, beat up old jewerly for 50 cents, that with a little work can become timeless. same with furniture clothes and anything else you canimange. Once saw a real bicycle built for two, broke my heart that I didn’t have the cash to buy it! *Was at Rogers flea market in ohio*. Summer becomes real for me when I go to these things, eat horrid greasy food like french fries and have a lemonaid, get some kettle corn and wander around. Also the fresh fruits and veggies are wonderful. And its the best time to buy all the jams and jellies from the local amish.
Sure the flowers are wonderful, but summer to me is going out and expereincing the fun of going to these places. That only exist in summer and fall.
My favorite thing about summer is PRIDE. Tonight kicks off the Pride weekend with the Trans March, & tomorrow is the Dyke March, & the day after that is the Pride Parade, & I COULD NOT BE more excited! I get to dress up crazy & feel the loooove from all my fellow queers, surrounding me in a massive celebration of our awesomeness, freedom, bravery, etc. SO GREAT. AHH!
My favorite thing about summer time is picking the flowers off my bushes, and I love the smell of them : ) because they are so sweet. I also love sitting in my tree under the shade.
My favorite thing about summer is being off from work! I’m an elementary school teacher, and the school year is so busy and hectic that by the time June rolls around, I’m desperate to shut my brain down for a little while
my most favoritest thing about summer is being able to wear light airy dresses with flowers in my hairand being completely carefree, well as carefree as i can be with a 14 month toddler!

My favorite thing about summer is that all my favorite colors are in now! It’s weird to wear lime green and neon orange in winter, but in the summer it’s practically expected, and I love it. I also love the flora of summer. Flowers rule.
The best part about summer is fresh vegetables from the garden and being able to go out barefoot to pick them.
My favorite thing about summer is getting up really early in the morning, like REALLY early as in 4 or 5am and sitting on my porch with a cup of coffee and an awesome book. The night’s chill is still in the air but it’s beginning to warm up, there’s almost no one outside so it’s peaceful and the sunrise is always beautiful.
My favorite thing is to be able to sit around in my pajamas all day, and swim whenever I want!
I didn’t really like the summer before because of the heat. I would enjoy taking a day trip to the shore or getting water ice all the time, but now it’s so much better. My son is 2 now, so we have a pool set up in the yard and he loves it. We also went to the shore for 3 days and it was so much fun! I love being able to enjoy time with my family, go places, and take hundreds of photos.
My favorite thing about summer is to walk the beach hand in hand with my fiance with our bare feet just touching the water, smelling the salt air, feeling the light breeze, and just being lost in each other. Nothing like it. :)
While I’m more of a Autunm/Winter kinda girl, what I like most about summer is a certain sense of freedom: even if I have a job, it feels like I can go out when I want, and everything is so much simpler, like I can walk home at night because it’s not freezing cold.
Favourite thing about summer? It has to be the opportunities to get out of the house, into the fresh air and sunlight. To get active and have fun with friends and family.

My favorite thing about summer is lying on the grass just slightly wet from going in the water and the sun dries you off but you’re still cool for a little while.

I love summer because it means I can sleep in and swim! Not to mention, my favorite snow-cone stand is open. :)

For me, that includes (but is not limited to!) hanging out with your friends and family, going shopping (I feel a style transformation coming on :]), having photo shoots, going on walks along the beach, eating ice-creams and skipping down the road in a blur of happiness and glee!
My very favoutie thing about summer is that I no longer have to hide my fun and colourful outifts beneath a grey jacket! In summer it’s warm enough to wear the things I love…so i love summer! :)

My favorite thing about summer is my college campus. There’s woods, a beach, and a plethora of natural beauty. In the summer it’s deserted and absolutely beautiful. There is nothing better than going to the beach and watching the stars. And then if you dip your fingers in the water, it sparkles!
