I was inspired by Rihanna’s Only Girl In The World video, particularly the flower scene. I wanted to create something equally as magical, but instead of the hot red-orange tones, in blue. I made the flower out of a children’s fairy costume, and accessories were provided by my friend Clara Cherie (check out those amazing iridescent epaulettes!).

For the first time in my life, I wore a nude lipstick. What do you guys think??

The ‘tears’ streaming down my cheeks are actually silver glitter. I really like the effect.

And of course, my favorite picture ended up a banner on this blog.
I’ve been shooting non-stop lately and have many more amazing photoshoots up my sleeve: Mad Science, Doll Theater Pt 2, Cheese Fairy, Ice Queen (which we shot last night!) — all coming soon!

DAT FLOWER. *o*
Three cheers for kids’ costumes being amazing.
I think this is the best you have looked! There are elements of femininity and maturity that I haven’t seen in your photos before. This combination of serenity and whimsy works for you! The first is my fave, very strong in the eyes with the right juxtaposition of softness in your face and body. I actually thought the photo chosen for the banner was a little too posed looking (still a nice image, though).
Honestly, I think the nude looks far more beautiful on you than any of the brights; but what do I know, I only ever do nude lips!

Haha, for me it’s actually quite unusual, a “risk” if you will; but I’d do it again!
*gasp* just what sweet and fantasy inspiring shoot this is! I also like the glitter tear effect. I like the nude lips as well the color is a bit more pink than beige, almost like a pink version of cosmopop! What I’m getting down to is you look wonderful.
I think that the nude lipstick makes you look even more like a wounderful doll. And I just love your face, always, you’re so beautiful!
Perfect *o*
This is stunning, I just love the cool colours and that flower hat is so pretty xoxo
it’s more pink than nude, but i think it really suits you. i love the eye look- tutorial?

It’s pretty much the same as what’s on the LC site right now, but with a nude lip :)
Oh man these are gorgeous! I was wondering where the lovely photo in the banner was from. I can’t wait to see all the other photoshoots!
I really love the focus on the second pic. The nude lipstick is GORGEOUS and this photoshoot is overall just amazingly GLITTERIFIC! Did you apply glitter on top of the nude lipstick?
I loved the whole scene! It´s very magical.
The nude lipstick is nice! the makeup is fresh and light :)
like i said in the last blog post… SEXY LEGS!!!!!!! SHOW EM OFF MORE OFTEN!!!!!
and as far as the lipstick… not so nude, more peachy
Just gorgeous! I’m in love with the colors! Good job!
Eh, Rihanna had better pack her bags, cos your look is spectacular!! (and classy.. but I won’t go hating on your blog!) :)
wow! lovely photos!
Stunning, I love the nude lipstick! You look so beautiful and feminine here :) Weren’t you freezing, though? Haha
I think you should give us a tutorial for this look. especialy love the glitter tears!

Hehe, I don’t always look like this, you know. ;) Hours of preparation go into each shoot with all the styling, makeup, lighting… But it’s all worth it!

Yes, retouching too. If you’re interested, I did an article on Photoshop earlier.

Minimal retouching actually. Since you’re a photog: I was shooting these pretty wide (f 2.8 I think) with natural light from the sunset. This gave it the dreamy softness that you probably mistook for editing in post. I also used a new Tammy zoom I just got that gives up more sharpness at 2.8 than I prefer and it imparted some graininess because of the low light. Usually a drawback, but I think it worked well for this set.

It worked wonderfully.
You look amazing :) You have such a beautiful and unique face and your nude lips look so delicate and lovely <3 I give this photo shoot 3 thumbs up.
Wow, I love it! I love the pale and sparkly or the background of dark and green! I love sparkley-ness!
Wow…you look SO beautiful! I love the lighting.
ohhh my goodness, I LOVE the flower! You look simply SWEET! xo
wow. I have no words. this is absolutely stunning.
Mark is such a lucky guy!
Beautiful look, I loved this the day I saw it as the new banner. I thought the lipstick looked like Great Pink Planet! Either way, it pulls the whole fairy-esque look together nicely :)
The magical place…. The air was filled with a sweet scent, winter was now a forgotten dream.
BLue,Blue is a color on a rainbows beam, a tender face in a white dress how beautiful she was with decorative hat enveloped in this aura of beauty. Hate and fear disappear without a trace… in this magical place.

OMG! you’re awsome in so many ways!this pics are great! seriously =) I really love all your looks :D
I think the nude lipstick really works for these photographs. And the silver tears are aMAzing! (You’ll have to add the high pitch all on your own)
These photographs are exquisite! I’m so happy I found your blog – it inspired me to get on with all the decorating/sewing/accessorizing that I’ve been ‘planning’ for months! Next up – rainbow curtains! ^_^
The silver glitter tears are SO beautiful. Your photoshoots are just amazing..keep it going!
Wow, I just freaking love this. Gorgeous.
Gorgeous! As is the nude lipstick and I also love the glitter tears effect. These photoshoots are so inspiring.

There’s more on its way!
you look BEAUTIFUL!!!! i love the flower, so creative..and the nude lipstick is really pretty, not boring at all!!! I love all the ideas you come up with!
I was wondering how long we had to wait to see this new shoot–I’m glad it wasn’t too long! These colors against the bright white is amazing! It makes me think of the song “Eerie Eden”.
And I can’t WAIT to see the Ice Queen shoot! I live in a very snowy clime, and ice is fast becoming an inspiration for me. Can’t wait to see your take on it!
Fabulous! Really special. Great work, Doe.
lovely!! I loved that Rihanna video too!! It’s funny because when I saw the banner I thought that reminded me of one of the scenes! Great job as always!

I’m all about that video! I can’t even count the ways it inspired me…
Fah-boo-luss, as always. The colors are lovely, your blue hair is still rockin’ and I REALLY dig the silver glitter trails!
You look gorgeous of course, but I have to say…
I LOVE THE LIGHTING!! Is it a photoshop effect, or did you shoot at dusk? Did Mark take these?

I love the pictures of you that Mark takes!! Nobody photographs you better than he does!!
You two make an awesome team!
I just adore these costumed shoots. Keep them coming!
Just EXQUISITE! I especially love the flower, the makeup (esp eyelashes and nude lips) and the silver tears. Gorgeous EVERYTHING! xxx
My friend and I were talking about you over tea today, and we decided that you remind us of Queen Frostine, Candyland’s lady monarch. :)
So beautiful!
I think the nude works because your hair is an outrageous color.
Plus, nude lipstick with big lashes makes you look very doll-like and fragile. This is a beautiful shoot!
omg that shoot is the most beautiful to me yet, i really really really love it <3
and yes, the nude lipstick suits you very well :)
You are so insanely beautiful. I think this is one of the most inspiring photoshoots you’ve done.
You look AMAZING! I love this look! What exactly did you use on your lips? I have the same coloring as you, and I think it would look great on me too :)

Coquette? I need that colour in my life!
I’m sure you’ve been asked this before, but why didn’t you ever go into full-time professional print modeling?
I know you’re petite, so things like HC and runway wouldn’t work, but you’re perfect for print and editorial.

Why model for others’ boring concepts (which is what modeling!) when I can model and get paid for my own? ;)
The nude lipstick pairs beautifully with the blue hair. I love all your shoots but this one must be one of my favourites.
the nude lipstick looks absolutely stunning. you look fabulouss here! <3
These are fantastic! The first photo is one of your best ever. Your face looks gorgeous. As Tyra Banks would say, you are definitely smizing. I love the way you used the flower as well. Great job. :)
I can’t stop looking at the dress you are wearing. It’s beautiful! Where did you get it?

Awh really? :( Maybe I should start picking up sewing so I can replicate that gorgeous dress! But I seem to remember where I get my clothes because most of them come from the same stores.
This is one of my all time favorite shoots you’ve done I love the magic and the emotion, my favorite combination! The blue hair is gorgeous against your pale skin. You said you wrre considering extensions? Could you maybe make a post about the extensions you get and how you dye them or if you find ones that color? Thanks(:
Doe Deere say what you like, you truly are a fairy queen. :)
