Yes She Did.
Category: Makeup Tutorials
Just when you thought you’ve figured me out, hehe… Let’s just say, if I were in a room full of critics, they would all say: “No she didn’t!”

Color approximated; photoshoot with Raquel Reed in the works!
- #10 No She Didn’t – the most personality-charged of the 10, this lipstick is an opulent, opaque turquoise blue! Some would say blue is a no-no; I say it’s a big YESSSS.

I’m surprised how many of you guessed the last shade correctly. It’s scary how much we’re on the same brain wave sometimes – or maybe it’s just that I was blessed with the best audience ever! :))) This is just the beginning of my lipstick journey; I am already planning an expansion to the Candyfuture line. As much as I love pinks & purples, you know it’s not all I’m about – so expect some real dreamy stuff!
No She Didn’t is now eligible for the Vignette-writing contest. It ends this Friday August 28, so hurry up! Let your imagination go wild kind of like mine did when I made up these colors, haha. By the way, we already have lots of awesome entries, but if you write about Centrifuchsia and No She Didn’t, your chances of winning will improve sharply!
See the rest of the collection here: 1, 2, 3 / 4, 5, 6 / 7, 8, 9. Pre-sales begin September 1st with orders shipping October 1st.

Oh yay! I was hoping there would be a blue in there somewhere. And it’s the exact same hue as a couple pieces of clothing I have. ^___^
Once you get ‘em up on your website, you should post allergy information. I know it’s crazy, but some people are allergic to lipsticks, despite the hypo-allergenic ingredients that are thrown in. ;_;

That’s one gorgeous blue lipstick!
Will there be any kind of introductory offer when these are launched? A multibuy or something would definitely encourage me to try more colours.
Although, since I live in the UK, these are cheaper than MAC lipsticks for me.

That blue is fantastic! Why do all these colors keep reminding me of Candyland? Must…not…write…another…Candyland…vignette….
Okay. I think I have a non-Candyland idea (did you ever play Candylad, Doe? You’d LOVE it, even if it is a kids’ game)
Here goes:
No She Didn’t
Until tonight, Maya was the unchallenged Club Queen. She could get in to any party, she knew everyone, and she was sexiest lady around on two legs (of course, non-humanoids had a different perception of sex appeal, but then again, they often had many more than two legs). Now, out of the crowd, an interloper was trying to supplant her. This would never do. Maya quickly checked her fire-blue lipstick in one of the mirrored walls, glanced at her impeccable copper manicure, and looked her glamazon opponent up and down. Yes. This was going to be fun.

Looking out onto the catwalk, she couldn’t possibly have been more nervous
The Galliano 3000 spacesuit collection was perfect, and to make matters worse, the audience of Fembots were fanning themselves as the final Skywalker-esque model gave them a wink
When the claps died down, Aurora Supernova knew there was only one way to beat such a show; the secret weapon. But what if it didn’t work? It hadn’t been tested yet!
Modelling her own CandyFuture designs, she hovered down the catwalk in her glittering spacesuit. As she reached the audience, she pressed a button on the arm of the suit, for a second, nothing happened, Aurora felt herself blush. but just as she was about to run away, in a great flash of blue, the spacesuit unravelled and folded into a ‘chic little purse, she popped her lipstick inside.

Luxie teetered over the bar, her neon-blue lips pressed thirstily to a bottle of sparkling lemon water. A handsome-stranger paused to make eye contact, Luxie looked away with a swift move of platinum hair, chewing her holographic nails. Not tonight, she thought.
Tonight Luxie would celebrate life and all of it’s magnificence. Tonight was the one-year anniversary of Orb’s death, Luxie’s ex-lover. Orb had subscribed to the “Live Fast Die Young” philosophy. He was tall and striking with silver hair and pale blue eyes with rhinestones glued beneath his lashes. Tonight, Luxie wore rhinestones and silver with her signature turquoise lips, a tribute to love, life and death.
Celebrate, Luxie did. She danced harder than she ever had before, feeling the music in her veins and every pore of her body. As she moved, eyes closed to the sounds, she thought about death. She thought about ancient days when people were buried in the earth. Now we spread the ashes into space and memorials are online.
In that moment something in Luxie broke. Clear-tears traveled softly down her smiling cheeks. She felt at peace, like a fog had been lifted. Orb’s bright light had been blown out, but hers had not. She would heal, savor life and flourish. Luxie saw it for a moment, her crystal-colored future, more clear than ever.

No She Didn’t:
Aurelia stood in the doorway of the ballroom, all eyes turned towards her. Silence ensued. A grin fell upon Aurelia’s face as she removed her helmet.
“Oh, no she didn’t!” whispered one party guest to another, as a curtain of turquoise blue hair cascaded down her shoulders.
“Oh, yes she did.” she said to herself proudly, tucking her helmet under her arm and making her way to the bar through the sea of stunned faces.

As Camila looked into the wishing well she let out a sigh. She hadn’t flown over 30 galaxies away from Earth to not have something happen to her. This was the place, Cotton Candy planet. The fabled place were the Sugar Queen wished for her hair to be turned a creamy turquoise color. Just like the murky waters of the wishing well. Camila wanted her purple freckles and orange hair to fade. She wanted to be something she thought was beautiful. Something different, unlike all the Norlacks in planet Earth. They all had the same hair color and purple freckles. She wished and wished as hard as she could. But nothing happened. A tear rolled down her cheek and into the well. As despair was taking over, something magical happened. The water suddenly turned clear and she could see her own reflection. She had the cotton candy pink and gold stranded hair she wished for. Instead of purple freckles she now had turquoise one’s. That she wished for in honor of the well. As she returned home and parked her spaceship all her friends and family had one thought,”No she didn’t”. To which she replied, “Yes I did.”

She skipped down the grey streets, through the skyscrapers. Jaws dropped as she glided by on her jet powered silver boots, heads shook at her powder blue tights, and like-minded people smiled to themselves when they saw her cotton-candy-colour dress. She was the leader of the Candyfuture Underground Movement, for those who were tired of the dull present and who were inspired by the endless possibilities of the future.
She would change the world, with their help. And for those who were living in the past:

No She Didn’t:
The city came to life in colours like hard candy light from within. Bright, clear, vibrant shades that complimented one another and light up the city like the window display of the world’s largest candy store. Except for Blanc’s home. Everything was white and pure and touched only with shades of chrome.
Except for the words that emblazoned one wall, bright turquoise that seemed to glow in contrast to the white. A signature; a goodbye; a kiss off.
“No she didn’t!”

Gosh, this color is so weird that of course I’m obsessed with it and will probably have dreams about it tonight. I would love to have a nail polish in this color and then match my nails to my lips… haha. :D
And because this color is so pretty, I just had to write another vignette.
Oh No She Didn’t:
Like a smurfette, like a crazy creepy alien, like someone who just chugged a BerryLicious [the most ridiculously blue energy drink] she walked down the streets of a grey urban jungle. People stared, gaped at the gall of Kimchi’s neon blue lips. Oh no she didn’t! But oh yes she did. She was shaking up the trends of blacks and pinks and purples, of playing it safe and never smiling. It was really no surprise when the next time she walked down those streets a lot more people were smiling bright blue smiles too.

Oh no, she didn’t. Gliding into the room like a sparkle charged nebula, the crowd was instantly hushed by the radiant lass standing before them. Highly reflective stunner-shades perched amidst her crimped and scrunchy bedecked locks. A fluorescent pink fanny pack was hitched jauntily around her waist. Her delicate feet were wrapped in pastel rainbow stripe toe socks, slipped into plastic platform sandals. The icing on this tart was her zippy blue lipstick, like freshly gathered snow from a comet. Oh yes, she did!

The high luxury of gold and diamonds could not compare to the aristocratic indulgent blue. The rarest of the colors, the most expensive of the rainbow, was worth its weight in platinum. Upper class fashionistas wore it on their socks, as to give the air that they had such wealth as to wear the precious color in their undergarments. The modern pampered princess wore it on her debutante ball gown, glowing like a ice queen on a frosty glacier. However, the White Queen, the most daring of all the monarchs of the world, had better uses for the color.
Harsh and audible whispers muttered, “No, she didn’t!” At the Winter Ball, the Silver Queen didn’t wear the haute couture blue on a single piece of clothing. Not on her stilettos thigh high boots, nor her silk and satin corset, nor her tricorn hat. What drew attention to her was her small but beautifully plump lips. The fearless queen had lips the color of endless sky and see. She smiled coyly at her guests and annouced, “Yes, I did.”

NO.
SHE.
DIDN’T.
“HOW COULD YOU!?” she screamed. Not only had Tessa found out her boyfriend, Streak, was cheating on her, but he also just broke up with her and announced his plans to propose to the bimbo he was secretly seeing. “I’ve been having this feeling lately that you’re just not the one.” “No you didn’t.” “Yes I did. Please get your things and leave.” She was shocked. She spent the last 2 years of her life with him and also redecorated their apartment. Well, now it’s his.
She hurriedly grabbed her personal apartment controller and not only magnetically moved all her clothes into her luggage, but also managed to destroy the holographic countertops in *ahem* his kitchen. Pictures fell off the wall with a shatter as she slammed the front door. “Wait and see. Wait and see, he’ll regret this day forever.” she muttered to herself as she hailed a hover-cab. “Lunetta, is it ok if I stay with you for a while?” She asked over the telecom. “Lemme guess.” “Shutup.” *click* The vintage wrought-iron gate opened up and Tessa walked into one of the hottest properties the west side of Rainbow Bridge. “I’m planning something” “Just say the word.” And so Tessa told Lunetta all about her plan for revenge. The next night was Streak’s new movie premiere. Tessa knew for sure that he would bring that girl who she even refused to name. She put on her killer blue dress, sky-high platform stilettos (blue, of course), let her magnificent blue curls hang loosely around her bosom, and lastly applied the color to her lip that she would use as revenge that night. Even if she wasn’t Streak’s date, she was already invited to the premiere. Minutes after the media frenzy Tessa walked out of the theatre and there for public display were her ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend hung up by their underwear (and the new girl was wearing a g-string, ouch.) and covered in bright blue paint that would permanently dye their skin and burn it off. Intergalactic Space Goo 8000 TM was the hottest new prank toy hitting the market and Tessa had used it very well. Two nearby women who had also been invited to the premiere saw the whole thing.
“No she didn’t.”
“Oh yes she did.”

Mrs. Deere:
I enjoy the look of this color very much. However, I have tan skin, and most probably would not be able to use a lipstick in light colors. I was wondering if you would consider [or are planning to] add darker colors into your lipstick line. I believe that deep lime or navy blue would be an excellent color to add. Please consider this suggestion.

I love love LOVE that shade. It’s absolutely stunning. But… I don’t know how I could pull it off. :|
Anyway, the vignette:
Sapphy walked along the beach, the white sand warm beneath her feet. She always came down to the beach to collect seashells in the morning before the crowds arrived. And she always found the most fascinating shells. She would find little violet ones that glitter and blue ones shaped like hearts. On occasion she would even find little button shells in the most peculiar shade of mint green. And then she even once found a red starfish with pink flecks.
She looked out at the sea and greeted it with an equally turquoise smile. The sea and beach understood. They spoke the same magical language of seashells from turquoise lips.

No She Didn’t
Sue strutted down the streets; smacking gum that had become stale. With the unsatisfying taste in her mouth, she decided she needed a little spark. Using her sneaky ways, she reached into her purse and pulled out a tube of lipstick with a mischevious smirk. Sue painted her lips; ready to test it out. She began molding her mouth to form a magnificent bubble. Right before her widened (and crossed I might add) eyes, the gum changed color to match that of her opaque turquoise blue lips. It gave a little pop and Sue let out a little giggle. To the side she could hear the shrill cry, “No she didn’t!” With a smile and a simple wink Sue replied, “Yes I did!”
and a little side note…by far my most favorite lipstick of the bunch. i knew it had to be a blue. absolutely brilliant sweets!

Haiku form :
The onlookers gasped!
She stretched up and kissed the sky
Oh no she didn’t!
Longer version:
She can’t do it! There’s no way! Stunned onlookers gasped! She’s going to do it mommy! Squealed one little girl, eyes dancing. All watched in awe, envy or shock as one lone girl climbed the chrome and rainbow Ferris wheel. Finally reaching the top the girl stretched up as high as she could go… and kissed the sky! No she didn’t! the crowd gasped.
Optional ending if you take out the last sentence:
… and kissed the sky, leaving a bright kiss print on a cloud.

It was the year 4002 and anything was possible. Sage wanted to see the world, travel as far as she could and explore the places she had only read about in books and seen in the movies. She laced up her neon pink boots, strapped her black liquid backpack on and punched a mystery code into her Comet Launcher. Seconds later, the chartreuse comet appeared, green and yellow glitter trailing behind it and Sage climbed on. She fastened her violet goggles as she ran her fingertips through the comet’s glitter, applying the colors to her lips. With a wink and a smile, she shot off into the sky to begin her journey into the unknown.
And do you think she had any plans of coming back anytime soon? No, she didn’t.

People crowded the hallways. Although noise was a regular thing to be expected with a crowd this large in the middle of a crowded high school, things were deathly quiet as every face in the hall was on Delphinia, her exotic blue lips set in a serious line upon her pale face.
“What did you say?” asked the boy opposite her, the most popular, good-looking and arrogant boy in the class of 4012, his face impolitely incredulous and mocking. Delphinia glared.
“I said ‘no.’” she replied in a resolute voice. Several girls around her exchanged looks of fury and confusion. Saying the word ‘no’ to this boy was like Social Suicide. As the boy stared, open-mouthed, a girl to the far left of him whispered, “Oh… No. She didn’t.” several people quietly agreed as Delphinia turned on her heel, walking briskly towards the door.
“Oh, yes she did,”

No She Didn’t:
She texted her friends to meet her at the outskirts of town two hours past sundown, telling them she had finally done it. They gathered, minds atwitter at what “it” meant. As she pulled up in her little blue coupe, they knew something exciting was about to happen; she only wore her favorite gumball blue lipstick when she had something amazing up her sleeve.
She didn’t say much, just enough to tell her friends to face the skyline. Grinning, she pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number. Immediately, the white lights of the skyline changed into a melange of pinks, greens, yellows, oranges, purple, and, of course, blues. Her friends cheered as she took a bow, but she though she heard one of her friends whisper, “oh no she didn’t!” It just made her smile grow.

No She Didn’t
For months she had worked hard to find that exact color that brightened her dreams. It was a shade beyond blue. A color that made the sky seem dull. It was the perfect color for Sassy and herself, and so it had to be found.
The night before the premiere it was discovered. Not in nature but in a tube of lipstick. A color that would turn heads and change minds. Walking down the carpet, the flash of the cameras caught not only that bright shade of turquoise on her lips, on her gown, but shimmering in the fur of the dyed to match standard poodle at her side. The whispers were many but no one dared say a word to her face.

Renaissance stood behind the cupcake counter, reluctantly icing the decadent treats with not-so-decadent colors. Her boss, an uninspiring woman who detests the sight of joy in anyone’s eyes, burst out from the back of the bakery carrying a whimsical, turquoise-iced cupcake showered with iridescent rainbow sprinkles on top. “What is THIS?!” she yelled at Renaissance. “Wasting my materials and money to build such a hideously decorated cupcake?! All this color is ridiculous!” Renaissance looked back at her boss but dared not say a word. The customers could cut the tension with a knife as they watched the enraged boss. DING! In that moment, a curly-headed little girl and her mother happily pranced through the front door of the shop. “Mommy! Mommy, I want that one!” she exclaimed, pointing at the magnificent cupcake the boss was holding, “It’s so colorful!”
Renaissance smiled at the girl’s approval of her delicious creation. She took the cupcake from her boss’s cold hands and gave it to the little girl. “Candyfuturistic, isn’t it?” Renaissance said. With that, she quickly showered all the cupcakes behind the display glass with tiny, colorful sprinkles of glee, as her boss watched with a horrified look. “Oh no she didn’t!” spectators whispered. “What are you doing to my cupcakes?! You’re ruining them! Do you think you’re going to keep your job after all this?!” her boss yelled. “Nah, you can have it,” Renaissance smiled sweetly. She handed the boss her apron and courageously walked out the door, never to return to work at the drab bakery again.

The DING! in my vignette was supposed to be the front doorbell sounding. I realized I might not have made that very clear, sorry! :)

No She Didn’t
Her skin looks as if it were kissed by winter’s lips. It shimmers like diamonds in the moonlight. Look closely and you can see the delicate pattern of the frost. Her smile will drive you mad with love. Her gaze is fierce with the driving force of life and lust. I would follow her to the ends of the earth. It is insanity to love what you cannot capture. Her laugh will ring in your ears for days, perfect and musical. A siren’s song can not compare to the sound of her voice. You will pour into her all your devotion and at the end of it all she will disappear into the ether. Softly you will whisper denial, “No she didn’t”

Wheeee! I’ve got to try this one :) The light blue is so pretty…how do you think it would look with Urban Decay’s new sheer black color layered over it? (Or a small amount of Styletto?!)
